I don't like it.
I don't like it has to be done.
I don't like the amount of it.
I don't like not being free after I've spent 60% of my awaken time in school.
I only do coursework and the rare pieces of homework which are actually set to help us understand the topic and not just for the sake of setting something.
I flat out refused to do a piece of homework we were set which told us to draw a comic about atom molecules attending a prom or some stupid shit though and threw it away. It wasn't even related to the topic we were on and it didn't even teach us anything.
I got removed from the lesson when I hadn't even made a scene and my awesome electronics teacher said "Oh I'll handle this, don't worry I'll fill in all the required forms." when he saw me getting spoken to outside and just happened to be passing by. I then spent the rest of the lesson chilling in his classroom, talking to him and drinking coffee.
Was a good day.
those stupid comic homeworks were the only ones i was ever really willing to do :v:
My school has block scheduling (A days and B days) so that causes a majority of teachers to use the, "I only assign homework because I won't have you tomorrow" excuse.
Also homework is simply schoolwork that doesn't fit into the tiny hour the teachers have you for so it spills over into whenever you can do it. It isn't optional so deal with it and do it.

That's stupid because they have at least 90 minutes to teach you the same they would in a regular day and then actually let you do practice work while helping you instead of just wasting it on an expanded lesson, that's NOT what block is for.
This is stupid, obviously a < 13 year old angry at getting too much homework. You will learn to need it, when you find that you don't find everything as easy anymore.
I'm 13, and i was just wanted to know what people thought of it. It's a controversail issue and i honestly thought people would be saying: "Yer it sucks, but we have to do it."
I don't really have a strong opinion on homework. If it's boring as hell, I'll rush through it. If it's fun and interesting, I'll devote some time to it, try hard and try to have fun. Well, at least not be bored doing it.

its not controversial at all
You rated me dumb, didn't you? :argh:
Sixty to seventy percent of your grade? What school district you in? I want to beat up all of those district people or whatever they are. It's not a great thing, and there is too much of it (homework I mean).
Nope, I didn't.
I live in Norway.
its not controversial at all
Why's that?
It must burn, like many things. But we have to do it.
For some teachers it's a complete waste. I.E. They give it to you just to make you do work. They don't even review it and tell you what you did wrong. But some, it's good review/study for tests and exams.
Why's that?
homework is homework
stop whining about it
homework is homework

No ones whining, they're answering the name of this thread. The name intended to find out what people think of homework. If they don't like it, that's fine.
coming from a new college freshman I can confidently tell you that homework is extremely fucking important, as is the 8 hour day of school with each class every day
currently my classes are every other day (poli sci / econ / hist = m/w/f, and astronomy / physics = t/th), and I have no homework in any class minus papers and a discussion section for friday that I have to read some articles for. The biggest problem is mainly for the science classes... it's really hard to actually absorb the information during the lectures, and once you're done with lecture you're pretty much "fuck yes let's get out of here" and since there's no requirement of homework, it's either: study or fuck around.
any normal student will fuck around
the result is that you really don't retain any important information and leads to an extremely stressful study session before exams.
Homework is good. I miss it

a lot
I remember in maths I just copied the answers. Worked great for 6 months until my teacher caught on. :saddowns:
Looks like 99% of the people in this thread haven't hit college yet. Good luck majoring in engineering without doing homework, you're not all Einsteins. A lot of professors don't actually cover certain topics in lecture, so you're required to learn then on your own time.
Was homework important in high school? Yes and no, it really depends on the person. But high school (even with multiple AP classes every semester) was a breeze compared to college.
I don't do my math homework. I pay attention for two minutes of the class and get the highest score on every test. Homework is a complete waste of time.
Same here, I tried doing that with Spanish. Wasn't so lucky there.
Math, chemistry, anatomy, and all that kinda stuff should have homework. It's practice. English, communication, and those kinds of classes are pointless to give homework in.

You're clearly either exaggerating or taking retard math. What math are taking?
