Do you still have the original file?
If you had windows 7 you could restore the file to a previous version
you sure you didn't open that transparent-ish file windows makes when you have a word document open?
for example youfile.doc, then you find some thing called yourfile$&32.doc in the file.
By reading this, I have come to assume that OP has written lyrics in a MS Word document (.doc/.docx), then has opened it in Notepad and then accidentally saved over it. I don't know if this is recoverable... You should have just written them in Notepad.
