Shit im going for a Echo 1 Platinum
Shit im going for a Echo 1 Platinum
The stag arms m4? My friend has one of those and it's nice. The range on that thing is fucking intense
I love my full metal AGM m4. It chono'd at 430 FPS though. I still love it. Anyone know if/how to get it to go down to under 400?

Couldn't you just use heavier bbs?
Couldn't you just use heavier bbs?
Most fields know that using a heavier BB will hurt just as much even though the FPS is lower. A .2g BB going 400 FPS has the same energy as a .25g going 360 FPS. Which is why fields most of the time have you use their BBs when you chrono.
Guarder SP110 Spring swap or Systema M120 spring swap.
Is a spring swap a hard thing to do? Because I'd rather not make friends quit airsoft because my gun is 430 fps and "hurts too much" I am still trying to get half of them to stop thinking those walmart guns are good and that you can buy bb's at walmart. That dog is more trouble than it's worth. Neutralize it.
So if I wanted to upgrade to an M120 spring, what else would I need to upgrade with it?
So if I wanted to upgrade to an M120 spring, what else would I need to upgrade with it?
If it is an AEG you need to make sure the rest of the internals, piston gears ect can keep up with it. Upgrading the spring but having plastic internals will simply kill it. So it is a lot more than just a spring. What gun is it/brand?
If he downgrades the spring then it will be fine...
JG 552. Keep in mind I've never done this before, and how much of a bitch it is to disassemble the 552. [editline]07:45PM[/editline]
If he downgrades the spring then it will be fine...
It's definitely not a downgrade...
I am downgrading. Is it simple as opening the gear box and swapping a spring or what do I have to do?
www.mechbox.com shows you, first couple times is tough but you eventually get it. I always misplace the motor spacer or forgot a screw or something. Hardest part BY FAR is putting the 2nd part of the mechbox shell on
Taking it apart is easy. Putting the 2 halves together again is hard. I tend to have one small screwdriver inside the spring guide to hold the spring down. I hold that and the half of the gearbox on the table with my left hand, while using my right hand to put the top half back on. I also have my middle finger through the opening of the gearbox for the cylinder so I can guide it into place while holding the piston and cylinder down. First few months is a bitch, but now I can tear down a M4 and swap the spring in 15 minutes if nothing goes wrong. The mechbox.com videos are your best bet, along with checking ASR for guides specific to your gun on how to take it apart.
Awesome thanks. I got a list of parts here too. Systema M120 spring $16.00 Guarder steel Bushings $18.00 Systema Precision Shim Set $5.00 G&G Version 3 Spring Guide with Bearings $13.00 Guarder Steel High Speed Gear Set for TM AEG $45.00 I can change which company exactly but do these look like the required parts to generally upgrading it?
I am soon going to up the spring on my ca m14, put a scope/some kind of marksman scope, and put .23s or .25s and use it as my designated marksman. My only problem is that last time I tried taking it apart I snapped the trigger piece and it is now in for repairs. I am thinking about having the local guy, the same that is repairing it, so I don't break it again. [editline]11:45PM[/editline]
JG 552. I wouldn't think that it would do well with stock internals and a new spring.
Isn't jg a cheap Chinese brand? I wouldn't think that it would do well with stock internals and a new spring.
Well yeah that's why I posted a bunch of other parts I planned on buying and upgrading with it.
Ah. Didn't sees that. Well be sure to ask others here, most of the have a LOT of experience with airsoft and would be able to help you more.
Well since I've got an audience I'll just ask here, and technically it's a "next airsoft purchase." Does that look like a good list? Will I have any problems using a higher powered spring with all of those?
I dont think you'll really have a problem with a JG gearbox. I dont have much experience with JG internals but you want high quality gears, good piston, metal spring guide with bearings, metal bushings, and good seal on your cylinder set. Get rid of the systema spring, better off with prometheus or Guarder.
You do know that the gun shoots 430 fps OATB right? If anything you should be downgrading it. JG internals are actually really good and are not crappy Chinese toys (well, technically they are).
I didn't chrono it but I'm looking for high 300s very low 400s. AirsoftGI said 335 consistently, my coke can chrono said mid 300s. Plus I'd feel reassured having replaced the stock parts...I wouldn't think that'd be downgrading.
It's the JG G36c with a new body, it's been proven that all internal parts are the same between both guns. The last thing you want to do to it is fuck it up. You obviously have no clue what your doing and you should leave this shit to people who know what they're doing.
Playing it safe would be a good idea considering my low budget. Okay, well what if I replaced the stock and the handguard? Are those both simple tasks? Going to leave myself a lame defence: I watched the V.3 mechbox disassembly video on mechbox.com and it seemed simple enough.

You must take apart every last piece of the gun. Replacing the stock and handguard would be easy, but good luck finding a new handguard or stock.

Stock is for 556 but I assume it would work. As for the handguard, that's the only place I've seen it so far, Ebay.

Good job finding a 552 handguard though.
