Ok I am still going for the AKS-74 and D-boys is my best bet. But I'm going for a stalker look now and I will be buying an M58 Pattern web gear kit. They look pretty Stalkerish.

Seriously, don't waste your money on it. You'd also need to splash out for a gearbox shell with the cut for it.
Unless it's the TM "Recoil Engine", blowback on an AEG is pointless, can seriously affect reliability and cause premature failure.
If you want an AK though, Dboys/Kalash AK's or the newer CYMA AK's (based on VFC design like the Dboys/Kalash ones) are pimp. I have 2 :)
My next airsoft purchase is probably going to be some gear.
Possibly a bdu and some small chest rig when I have the money.
There are no good tactical AK's I'm afraid.
Actually this is a very good one

Also I am now going for a KWA M1911A1 GBB. Never had a gas gun before and I love to maintain things like guns so it seems to be a no-brainer to me. I have also played airsoft since 06 so I know my stuff. Do not try to talk me out of it and ruin my fun filled fantasy's.
You made me cut myself.
He's right though, those are really good... performance-wise externally they look like ass because its a railed ak.
Looks are the only things that matter!!!!!
Looks are the only things that matter!!!!!
Well if you're going to use a gun for possibly the next couple years, you're not going to want to cringe whenever you look at it. Externals do matter. Internals matter more.

The man speaks the truth. Now that was a bit sexist wasn't it now? I'm assuming that he is a man.

Ha ha. I had a shit looking ABS plastic AKsu, my friend had a metal M4. I didn't have to take care of it once, plus I spray painted it OD. On the other hand his M4 with all his various moving pulleys and levers were under constant care and still broke. It looked like shit for say, a month, I customized it and it looked fine because with the cheaper externals I could mess with it in obscure (and cool) ways rather than get plain items with a replica gun. He still had his bland M4 with replaced parts that he had to pay for, where as I just had to find various nick-knacks to make it look self-built. I think you would just get a gun and just say this looks ugly and then do nothing with it. But what do I know?
I wouldn't buy the gun at all. Sorry I care about externals. Sounds like your friend just had a shitty gun. Just because something is metal does not necessarily mean quality externals.
Sounds like you just don't care for externals. Whatever.

Are you sure about that?

Although if you're trying to say an AK is not supposed to have rails, I agree with you 100%
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=MOLLE-531
ordered one of them yesterday, should be here on sunday or tuesday
maybe monday.
it's like, coming from fort worth, so it shouldn't be long, since i'm in san antonio

Yes, I meant that there are no good tac AK's because they look like shit and should be thrown into the fiery pits of Mordor.
Just face it guys. There are people who like tactical guns (such as me for practicality's sake) and others who like plain guns. It's all a matter of preference and situational needs, I thought we've gone over this many times before.
As for my latest purchase, I just ordered a 4x ACOG w/ illuminated reticule. Figured I need magnifying sight rather than another red dot. Next on my list:
-Magpul Glock floor plates for FPG (once AEX stocks them, shouldn't be much longer since ASGI just got theirs)
-Killflash for ACOG

Could you tell us (by us I mean me) about that when it comes in? I've been wanting a decent magnified ACOG. Assuming it wasn't one of those $100+ ACOGs they have on ASGI.
Well I bought it because my friend bought one. The optics were pretty damn clear with a relatively good eye relief. The illumination has a fixed brightness I think and it's turned on by a small push button beneath the scope on the rear. My friend also told me it was fully adjustable, which a lot of these ACOG clones have problems with. He told me he got it for $90, so I decided to order one.
I'll do a more complete review once I get it. I had them send it with one of the faster mailing options, only $15 more why not. At least I might have it before next Saturday's game.
Bought it from Airsoft Panda. My friend recommended it to me, cheapest place I've seen that carries this ACOG and has it in stock.

I love tactical guns, but AK's should be kept clean IMO. A Kobra and/or a GP-25 to finish the look perhaps.

Where the heck do you get all that money from. MEGA JEALOUS!

Do want.
I want a nice Thompson, or as posted above.
Tac AK's are for fags and idiots who want to be a l33t operatarlulsokulXDfagidiotlittlekiddumbass
The only way an ak can look good "tac" is if it has a darker wood finish, and then it's still debatable.
No rails.
Why did you bring that back up, we were 3 posts away from that horrid discussion.
So how about them WWII weapons?
Where the heck do you get all that money from. MEGA JEALOUS!
Having a job that pays $13.50 an hour helps.

K98k, PPSh-41, MP40, M1 Garand, Thompson
In order of sexyness.
Dboy makes a k98k
It's not really skirmishable unless you collect shells and upgrade it.

I want a PPSh. I also want a WWII loadout. Too bad I'm flat broke.

WHAT DO YOU WORK AS? I MUST KNOW!
WHAT DO YOU WORK AS? I MUST KNOW!

I work as a machinist in a small Bio Tech prototyping company. I get handed a CAD drawing with "x" number of parts wanted and cut them out on either a milling machine or a lathe. Most parts run around 20-30 parts, but then there's others that want 80 of the same parts and it can get very repetitive. If I spend some time and learn Solidworks and MasterCAM I can start programming the CNC machines we have.
Nice part about the job is I have access to machines that make spare parts for my guns. I'm currently working on an aluminum FPG mag catch.
Not bad for my first job. Though being recommended by my shop instructor helps a lot in finding a job.
