Care to make me one once you get it finalised? I'll gladly pay for a few and parts/labour/shipping cost. Steel would be better though :3
I work as a machinist in a small Bio Tech prototyping company. I get handed a CAD drawing with "x" number of parts wanted and cut them out on either a milling machine or a lathe. Most parts run around 20-30 parts, but then there's others that want 80 of the same parts and it can get very repetitive. If I spend some time and learn Solidworks and MasterCAM I can start programming the CNC machines we have.
Nice part about the job is I have access to machines that make spare parts for my guns. I'm currently working on an aluminum FPG mag catch.
Not bad for my first job. Though being recommended by my shop instructor helps a lot in finding a job.
You are one lucky sonovagun.

Sure thing. I'll finish this one up and see how well it works this weekend. I was originally going to make it out of steel but I couldn't find any blocks of left over steel to play around with. Probably just hiding somewhere. Anyways aluminum is faster and easier to cut through for a first prototype.

Easy way to do it.
Program the machine to repeat it for each blank after you get it perfect.
???
profit
I have been working for my dad's friend who builds power steering for race cars and shit (Woodward Power Steering) and we just make a program using a few blanks to get it perfect then we just keep a close eye incase it messes up or we need to change it a bit.
Dboy makes a k98k
It's not really skirmishable unless you collect shells and upgrade it.
Tanaka makes one as well, someone that I play with has one. I would love to have one and would skirmish it even if it was difficult.

I know, it's called a CNC milling machine. I would draw the CAD file of the mag catch, have Master CAM program the cut paths and so on, toss the stock into the machine, do a dry run, do a test run and adjust cutter compensations and so forth where needed. Did all of this before in my shop class, we often ran each others programs just so we could all have that part done by the end of the day, instead of wasting an hour loading someone elses setup for the same part.
But I deal with the manual machines at work, where you move the table manually by cranking levers. Our CNC machines are always filled with work related parts, so side runs of something like this aren't a very high priority. The profit of mag catches is nothing compared to the grants and profit we make off of our prototypes.
Oh man, I just got 500 dollars in graduation money. What to buy..
A hooker and a rifle.
I don't mean to double post but my new TMC hydration carrier came in. Bought it from ebaybanned.com for $34.50. It's construction seems pretty good. Uses Molle, obviously, the color is a bit lighter. What I really like about it is the bite valve assembly. It has a gray button that if you press down, it releases everything above it for easier cleaning of the tube. Then you have a cap that goes over the bite area to protect it from dirt, and you have a turn valve which regulates the water flow. I have yet to try it with any liquid but I will soon.

I like what I like, apparently he does too to have the patch. It appeals to me in an ironic way.
I was considering getting a Hello Kitty patch to put on my vest for that reason, gives you something to joke about.

The idea came from having 10 dollars left in my Walmart card after buying my AGM Hk416. I was trying to buy something on ebaybanned.com and I decided to get a funny patch and that was the best one there. I eventually bought it on ebay.com because ebaybanned was being stupid. But yeah, it does give a moral boost on the field.
I want to get a Storm Trooper patch,
http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-STORM-TROOPER-TEAM-TALIBAN-TERMINATOR-PATCH-/370148647240
Expensive though.
I do that too, I get those gift cards you can use online because I don't trust buying things over the net using credit very often and I usually have like five bucks left which they'll drain for tax at the end of the month so I spend it on useless things. I bought a plastic bayonet with my last order for that reason (And to push it over the $100 marker for free shipping)

That and I like buying things. I'm such a female.
I'm trying to decide what gun I'm going to get next. I'm going to get a job this summer and I've decided once I've saved up enough I'll go ahead and get a new gun.
Something for a field, I have a M15 Carbine which does what it's supposed too but I think I want something with a longer better and more performance. I don't want to change magazines I need to find something that takes M4/M16 mags.
I keep having my attention drawn to the carbines though, they look so damn slick. Things like the Tavor rifle is like a Lamborghini in my eye but I tell myself it's probably a bad choice if I want the range.
Don't knock the Tavor CodeMonkey a dude at my site owns one and let me tell you its got some fricking range I assure you.
Well it's a bulpup so it will get better range for it's size.

It's okay me too. I like to spend my goddamn hard earned money, it makes me feel good.
It's okay me too. I like to spend my goddamn hard earned money, it makes me feel good.
It makes me feel good until I get a text message every morning telling me how much I have left.
I've already spent a few thousand on airsoft and I've only been playing for 3 years or so.
*sigh*
Airsoft is a fucking moneysink sometimes.
Ok, what now -
Warrior Assault Systems low profile suspenders
Woolrich Elite ripstop pants
5.11 kneepads
Grimlocks
Dynatec Blank Firing Grenade + 50 9mm blanks
5.11 Flashbang Pouch
Antifog + gas.
Much better than other hobbies though, in the short time i flew gas r/c airplanes I had spent something like 800 dollars. That was the first month or so.
I should get an MP5k and a foot-long barrel extension.

I fucking hate you so much. Someone managed to get a couple of these into the states, they were totally fucking awesome. Even more mean on the 12ga. blanks.
You brits may have shitty laws in some ways, but you get all the fun pyro :saddowns:

I'd buy 12guage blanks but the mall doesn't allow them throughout the site, so I'll stick to 9mm and .22, which kind of suck, but hey.
Only reason I bought it is because I'm SICK to death of loads of people stacking up outside doors and pussying out because there's one or two people inside the room, then people going in one by one and getting killed. Bane of CQB.
Cost effective though - Instead of buying 3 pyros for £10, I can buy one for £70, then 50 blanks for £15 odd.
Edit - "This item comes under the AECA classification of grenades and can only be exported to the USA if the importer has a FORM 6 importation license from the U.S. Department of Justice" - That's a firearms importation license - so, perhaps ask in your local gunshop/FFL dealer, you could get one.

I think I will be buying the Ares L1A1 next. It is like super sexy.

Started my first loadout, its gonna run me $430 before i add a bdu and patches. Possibly more if I go with a 47 instead of a 74. Its a MACV-SOG loadout so the 74 is kinda plausible, but the 47 would fit better. I need a jarb.
I need a jarb.
:golfclap: Well said. I do too.
