Very nice red dot and very bright. Not sure if it's what your looking for but I recommend it.

I've used one before, but on another person's gun. The sight itself is good, but I can't go beyond the fear that if I so much as step in the wrong direction I'm going to come off my field with $50 of broken glass.
I can't find the other post, I think it addressed this, but does that reflex sight work well even direct sunlight?

It does on the highest setting. I can see it clearly if I put it up to the sky, I didn't test it on direct sunlight but in Texas the skies are pretty damn bright.

Well in my opinion red dot ACOG's sort of defeat the original purpose of that kind of scope.
So it's either the EOTech, Aimpoint M2, or Micro Aimpoint. I'm using the Aimpoint M2 with a real killflash in it and it works great. Brightness on aimpoint replicas are generally more than those of EOTechs. I have 2 EOTech 552 clones and neither can compare to the brightness of the M2. The Micro Aimpoint will require you to get the riser for it. Don't go with a regular rail riser, look around for the specific riser for the Micro Aimpoint. Sites such as ebaybanned sell them with this. The only downside I see to them is their limited field of view. In that field EOTechs win.

But I still didn't choose one for him to buy, I just sort of listed the pros and cons. It all comes down to the users preference. I'm just here so they can go in as an educated consumer.

Aimpoint it is then, any specific brand recommendations? I want to get a micro aimpoint, but I think I'll save that for when I get around to using my P90 more.

As for brands, it's hard to say. Mine didn't even have a brand name. Though I've heard pretty good things about G&P optics, their prices can be a little on the high side. I'm not sure if their M2's can take real killflash's either, as their screw on magnifier for their M2 doesn't fit my Aimpoint which accepts a killflash.
You'll probably have to do some digging around on other sites for recent reviews on Aimpoints that mention where they bought it from. The biggest problem with ACM scopes is they never have a brand name and the same product can have different names from site to site.
I'm planning on picking up a Jing Gong G36C once the gun ban here ends.
