Actually my crossdraw worked fine for me. I held a small bag of BB's in the breast pouch, had my goggles in an unused M4 pouch, carried other utilities in the other available spaces too..

Dunno actually. I guess people hate crossdraws because no one ever uses them in real life, even though airsoft is never really 100% real or factual.

Pretty much. Adding to the bandwagon, I owned a Crossdraw, in ACU. Double rage.
But yeah I have no problems with them, I mean honestly, if you're starting, I don't see a problem with owning one. I owned one by UTG I believe.

If you really want it, then go for it. As long as you're comfortable with it.
I've never really seen anyone get called out on an airsoft field for wearing a crossdraw.

Since you're already investing that much money I would advise just buying some ESS goggles. You can find some on ebay and other sites for cheap if you're lucky.

Do you plan on using that to toss empty mags in? If so I'd advise against it. It's simply too small to easily toss mags in. The pouch works much better as a general utility pouch. This pouch serves as a much better dump pouch.

I've found elbow pads to be necessary, more bulk than you need. I play more than enough CQB and not once have I need elbow pads. Knee pads you definitely want, but you can pass on the elbow pads.
As for the holster, the current one you've chose will not hold the 1911 and the light at the same time. The holster is non-adjustable. If you skip buying the elbow pads, you can easily afford a Serpa holster. This version doesn't have room for a light attached to the gun, those holsters are a hell of a lot more expensive for some reason. Still, it's a great advantage in CQB. You can draw your sidearm in an instant for when someone pops up, and you can reholster your gun knowing it won't slide out or drop you mags (both common on cheap universal holsters).

How are you going to use a MOLLE Dump pouch and a MOLLE holster (which, by the way, is not compatible with you pistol) if you don't have a MOLLE belt or leg platform?
Yeah, you'll need something to attach those to, like a belt.
