The AMP PSO is a red dot with a 4x magnification and terrible build quality. Don't get it.
All $200+ including shipping plus ebay isn't very trustworthy, and it's not a red dot it's just illuminated but it has crosshairs.

Where you planning to buy an actual scope?
He plans on buying the AMP scope, and I brought that into the conversation because I think it's terrible and that the POSP is a far better choice.
I'm just trying to find out if it's even worth it to buy this SVD if it's not as good as a cheaper MK96 because if the SVD is a lot better then maybe I will spend the extra money on the scope if not then I'll get the MK96.

Ok for one thing who cares about puncuation, as long as you know what I'm saying it's fine. Secondly, the guns are about the same price but the scope is the only difference. I'm just saying without a scope which one is better.

why don't you just save up a little while and get something good.
I thought you wanted to buy the SVD because it's a sexy gun, not because with the craptastic AMP scope it would cost less. Guess not. So if it's all about the price and not about having an SVD (with a proper scope) I can't see any reason to convince you further that you should go with a genuine POSP.

I did want to buy the SVD but apparently the AMP scope sucks and I don't know if I'm willing to spend a lot of money. Plus the MK96 looks good, too.

This appears to be your problem. To my knowledge, there isn't a single decent L96 short of those gas monsters in the $600 range.
So the L96, in your mind, should be invalidated as a choice.
It'd be better to go with irons than that piece of shit AMP scope.
So pretty much what you're saying is that I can't get any sniper under $300 that's good. I doubt that.
