Good luck with a radio setup. I seem to have nothing but bad luck with the clone military headsets. Other people have reports saying they're more of a hit or miss deal, some due to some poor saudering which can be fixed. My Sordin's and PPT don't seem to transmit on my radio, yet they receive from other people. Although the noise cancellation on my Sordin's is a nice feature. If you're playing with Thunder B's they might actually be a wise investment (Sordin's or Comtacs).
But for just communications my best luck has been just buying some $20-$40 radio and a headset w/ PTT made by the same manufacture.
I don't want to spend a ton of cash or make it look tacticool like I usually do. If I could go to radioshack and have them point me out a Talkabout and a headset that will work with it, that'd be enough.

So you go the extra mile on the showy stuff that doesn't necessarily matter but skimp on one of the most important things?
Comon now. Comms are one of the things that tend to be one of those "get what you pay for" things. I have yet to make the jump to quality stuff, but I really do get sick of my somewhat shitty midlands, so Ill probably invest sooner rather than later.
What showy stuff? I don't want to spend a lot on a radio because we don't use them at my field but it's something that may come in handy every once in awhile when we do. Replica military headsets are more showy then practical from what Ender said. Show instead of buying some replica set, I might as well go to my local shop, get a radio that from what I've heard it all around decent and a headset I -know- will work with it.
I can work up from there, but as it is I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to comms.

I dunno, I'm just the kind of guy that goes for the bare essentials first when constructing loadouts. Gun, ammo, comms, before helmets, tac gear, etc.
But if comms aren't a big thing at your field, that's understandable. Its just amazing the difference when comms are good though. Some of the most fun OPs Ive attended were made so by good communication.
Headsets are weird unless you buy professional stuff usually. Most of the motorla/midland/knockoff headsets you can get at radioshack are in-ear, and have terribad quality, and also tend to break/come apart in combat/be a pain in the balls. Most guys at my field use clone Cav or frogman headsets and they tend to work pretty well.
As for the radio itself, go for a single ~40-50 dollar unit. The ones the come in packs of two for that price are generally pretty bad. I had a really nice midland radio that I got comments about after a game due to my voice quality being so good, but broke due to stupidity on my part:
It was a single-unit version of this I believe.

Need more mags for my G39-C, more mags for my Socom 1911, thinking about getting an EOTECH, or the Element Zism Red Dot, also an AFG, and a Tactical light, that or get that $399.00 NVG Scope.
As for gear I'm going to get a MOLLE Vest (OD Green), Chest Rig (OD Green), Knee Pads (OD Green), Military Bungee Sling, and probably a few other things like patches, ammo pouches, misc pouches.
As for things I want, but I'm not worried about right now is a rubber knife, Communications Headset, Adapter for Motorola walkie talkies, a set of walkie talkies, a few sound grenades, possibly a claymore, and maybe a tornado grenade.
And finally, as for future guns to add to my collection I want to get an Ares AW-338 Sniper Rifle, TSD M3 Riot Shotgun (W/Spare Shells), and the H&K GBB MP7.
Stuffs expensive though, so if I'll probably get all of it before spring, or unless I win the lottery.
Anyone want to show me a all around decent and affordable radio platform? I always hear about a Talk-About but I don't know if that's a brand or a single radio or what.
My first radio was one of the middle-end Midland radios. Was probably the best radio I had.

Probably the same stuff as the one I linked to.
But STAY THE FUCK AWAY from their low tier stuff, its absolute garbage. My set wont even accept a headset without blasting massive amounts of static into my ear.

This. When I dropped and broke my mid-tier radio I thought I bought the same thing to replace it. Little did I know that It wasn't on sale, it was just a different radio that looked the same.
I may not need a new Primary now that I have my CM. So I may get a Beretta to replace my Glock and get a HERA Carbine kit for it.
What model Glock?
I seriously want one. I'd buy that off of you.
KJW Glock Model 23 with OD furniture. Still works great, I have three mags (One leaks like a bitch, other two are fine)
I'll snap a picture. You can make an offer but I don't really want to sell it, it's also worth a lot to me anymore because you can't find Glocks anywhere anymore.

Oh, that's okay. I won't beg you for it because I'm not even sure how much I have or what to offer. :v:
Though I like it, a lot.
Goddamn, I want a glock now.
Although I'm happy with my P226, I wouldn't mind having a Glock just for the hell of it.
I didn't know there is a Beretta HERA kit.
I didn't know there is a Beretta HERA kit.
I worded it badly. I was going to get the Beretta to replace my Glock as my Sidearm and turn my Glock into a HERA Carbine and make that my dedicated CQB platform.
I didn't know there is a Beretta HERA kit.
No, he's getting a Glock HERA kit and going to replace the Glock with a Beretta.
There isn't one. Only the Glock has one.
FFFF Ninjas.

I'm not going to reject you flat out, I'll even take a trade if it's anything I want.
He's going to climb the Tower of Hera.
That's right mother fuckers, I referenced Link to the Past.
There's a used OD KWA Glock 23F at my local store. Should I do it?
Yes. Hang on to it for a while too, then sell it for a profit~
or just use it.
Send it to me for my birthday, it's on Friday :h:
It's OD, I'll look like a CODfag but screw it, it's a Glock. For me though the frame on the compact ones just looks wrong.
As long as it isn't the 18C, you can ward people off of thinking you're a CoD fag.
Least you're not rolling with an ACR.
I have a KSC 18c. I guess I'm a fag!!
I have an 18C...some people at the local field tried to buy it but one guy was bitching about the compensator and the fact that it wasn't OD. Sigh...
ALL YOU FUCKING GLOCKFAGS ARE MAKING ME SO MO-FUGGIN' JELLY :saddowns:
I have a KSC 18c. I guess I'm a fag!!
You roll with them akimbo? Got a red dot for it? Silencer? Holographic sights? Some obscene combination of all three?
I wish I had a Glock :c
