• Futuristic Weapon "Blueprints"

Got bored, so I decided to make a few "blueprints" for futuristic weapons. 'twas actually quite a lot of fun, and came out (imo) looking half-way decent. The names are really un-original, but that's all I could come up with. The Nullifyer v1 v2 A simple TOW missile launcher. The Oppressor v1 v2 A sniper rifle, using depleted uranium cartridges, sped up using the 'gauss' or 'Coilgun' electromagnet method. v3 Assault Rifle v1 Support Assault Weapon v1 I'll most likely end up making more, but some suggestions and C&C would be grand. Also, why the dumb ratings? :(
I'd say a little more room for the firing hand on the stock of the Oppressor would be nice.
Bahaha, not a bad suggestion. Will fix. Edit: Fixed, made it look a bit more like the M24, and also added a bolt.
these are more like idea sketches... If you want to "top-secret" blueprint feel...... well okay first off blue would go better with the "blue-print" feel :P plus it would be easier on the eyes. But more detail, more finished lines, maybe detailed parts lay-out... those would make this feel way more official and real.. I know its just a bored sketch but.. you know.. Also... those names do need work... I believe I have both those weapons in Fallout 3..lol
If you're doing drafting like this, put on dimension and extension lines.
Haha, well, I did just play Fallout 3 for the last two or three hours, so there's bound to be some inspiration from the game. Yeah, it really is more of a sketch, rather than anything really official. I just started with the stock of a real gun, and just kept adding onto it. [editline]02:36AM[/editline] New weapons are done. A rifle this time, with the stock and lower reciever based on the VLTOR SBR. Anyone got an idea for a name?
Anyone?
The breach on the nullifyer looks way too small to fit a rocket into. Honestly they're not very original.
How the fuck does a "fiber optic scope" work?
How the fuck does a "fiber optic scope" work?
I meant that in the same way as a ACOG works. The fiber optic wires illuminate the crosshairs by capturing the light.
Needs more blue. Nah, seriously those are pretty awesome! You should try to model them if you can.
You should make them more Fallout 3 style. And it needs more blue. Otherwise i like them, You should make more.
Your rifle reminds me of an M16 crossed with a Scar-M and a SIG550
if these were blue prints, you would need straight lines where they need to go, measurements on about every side/angle. 2 or 3 differnet views on them, and pretty much a lot more descriptions not on only what the things are, but how everything fits together, you realize a blue print is not a description of a gun, but a map on how to make one.
The use of only black and white is a bit dull. For drawings of that type, a colored (maybe blue, or gray blue) background could bring a bit more life to zem. Cool ideas nonetheless.
Looks great but make the lines straight, not scribbles.
DMR Could be: Deadly Major Rifle Well anything without the major :P
Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll go back and make the backgrounds a different color, and clean them up a bit. Also, the DMR stands for Designated Marksman Rifle. And like I sort of said before, these aren't really meant to be blueprints. For whatever reason, I put in "Blueprints" in the title rather than "sketches" or something similar. These were really just meant to be really simple drawings, and maybe a sketch plan for a future modeling project. I'm thinking of trying to model the assault rifle, but I don't know how well that'd go. I'll still give it a try though. I'll make another one tonight, maybe a flamethrower. Or a support gun. We'll see. :P Edit: Meh. Didn't come out too well, but I did make the backgrounds blue.
My friend draws tons of these and I told him about the thread he should post them in a few days he said he couldnt find his binder
This gun is so stupid it's not even funny. For one, ever heard of backblast? The size of the rocket is also a problem, its way too fucking big. It either won't go more than 100 ft, or will send you flying back 20 meters (if it doesn't just blow off your arm in an explosion). What the fuck is a fiber optic scope? A better question is... Isn't depleted uranium non-magnetic, thus making a coil gun impossible? Even better; Why is there a bolt mechanism on this gun? It would have no need of cartridges, since the bullets are not propelled by gunpowder. Let me just show you the problem with this weapon. Good job. If the bullet even managed to get up there, and fired by a firing pin (a good 12 inches (?) away from the trigger), the barrel is above the stock, creating rotational energy which will drive your barrel skyward when it fires.
I'll most likely end up making more, but some suggestions and C&C would be grand.
My suggestion; Stop making "blueprints".
Ouch. Alright then, I will stop. Also, that top part of the rifle wasn't meant to be a carrying handle. That part in which you had to avoid is actually solid, and part of the upper reciever. Again, I never meant these to be legit blue prints. Just sketches of what in my opinion, are decent looking guns. The 'specs' were really done hastily. Didn't bother to consider any of the details, I just focused on doodling them. So, no more drawings then. I'll just try and model some of these, for personal use.
I wouldn't say stop entirely, you just need to put a little more thought (and maybe time) into your work, a gun is a relatively simple machine, the only technical stuff is in the receiver between the trigger and the barrel (for the most part). I'd also suggest getting to know the paths tool (if you haven't already) it can help you out a ton with making nice curves, lines, and measurements. One more thing, if you like making guns you should spend some time getting to know them, visit some gun boards, go to howstuffworks.com (or whatever) and check out the different types of mechanisms used for different weapons, it would give you a stronger gun logic for your construction. Of course that all is only good if you have the time to do it. Your SAW is kinda cool, I like its minimalist style. I am seeing some immediate problems though, for one your box mag seems to be bite size, you seem to have forgotten the upper cover assembly for it too, can't reload with out it.
guyz this is top secert
guyz this is top secert
shit OP you went and leaked everything on the internet how do you feel now
Nice fiber-optic scope. Totally useful.
blueprints can't be hand drawed. your pictures more like concepts
If they were blueprints they would have straight lines and be diagrams of the internal workings.
My guns are way more tacticooler.
Too bad the M203 on the DMR would just wreck the bipod.
Maybe use a ruler, set sqaure , compass, protractor or whatever else people use for technical drawings.
