so you told him you would sue him then he rehired you then you quit and went to work somewhere for lower pay when he didnt want you as a employee anyway?... wow, you sure showed that guy. lol
Yeah he did by not putting up with his bullshit and moving on. OP did the right thing, why would you want to go back to work with that asshole.
Wow, how old are you? 5? i say one thing and you are like "OMG IGNORE :saddowns:"
Yeah, a 5 year old with a job that DOESN'T involve a sweat shop.
You had a 100 degrees farenhiet? All though I agree that's a prick move I'm siding with your boss. Just because your slightly sick doesn't mean you should take a few days off. I would of just went in, and drinked a ton of cold water, and took some vitamin d supplements (seriously. they make you feel amazing). No need to worry about a fever when you could of just went in, and got paid for working still.

It varies a lot. 38,8 celcius can be pretty exhausting for some people.
Anyway, if he is feeling ill/sick, he has the right to call in few sick days. Anyway he shouldn't get fired for that, no way in hell.
If he gets sick again (maybe faking it), it can be harder to get those official sick days and certificates.

Slightly sick? Are you fucking kidding me?
Average temp is 98. Yes, I consider 100 slightly sick.
Dude; take this as a win.
If he's that much of a prick; you wouldn't have been able to get promotions / pay rises / holidays when needed etc in the future.
Good that you found out now and not another year or two down the track!

You know you start feeling sick when your temperature rises by even a degree right?
ITT: Internet tough guys
I once had a fever that peaked at around 40 degree celcius. It wasn't fun, It luckily dropped to about 39 an hour or two later, but I was out of school for 2 weeks.
Your boss is a douche, I'm glad you quit.

You know cold water does a lot of magical things correct?
if you are seriously fired take him to a tribunal or somthing. because its not legal to fire someone for being legitematly sick.

I felt as if my whole body was near a fire for days on end
Unfair Dismissal
Go to Court
Collect your juicy payout
I hope your new boss is better.
Get well soon.
Fire him.
From life.
OP is lazy, didn't want to drive 5 miles to work.
I hope bulgeria has services for the unemployed.
That's straight up illegal. Just sue him for the money! You can say so much like, unfair firing or something along those lines, harassment, and my personal favorite psychological and emotional damage. You win no matter what after you say what he said to you on the phone. Then you get shitloads of money and you get to roll around in it.
Get an employment tribunial. That's an unfair dismissal. He can't fire you because you're sick. Especially since your Doctor suggested you stay off. You would definitely win the case aswell.
Well, here's what I did. I called the guy again and told him I'm going to sue him. He told me that he is hiring me again. (After a long conversation, don't get me wrong, I'm oversimplifying) I called again 15 seconds later and told him I quit and that he should be ashamed of his stupidity. I then called the competitive store, down the street, which was my other option when I was searching for work and asked them if they have any open spots after explaining my situation. And... I got hired on the same position as before, but in a different store. Sure, the pay is a bit smaller, but I can live with that. It was totally worth it.
Why didn't you ask if they have any spots free before you quit your old job?
He's a fucking asshole.
Work through the fever you loser.
Not to be offensive but both me and my girlfriend got pretty bad cases of the flu last month and be both went to work and in my case my boss sent me home because i was simply too sick.
You should always go in and see if you can work. Not just call in lazy sick.
Not coming into work serves TWO purposes.
The first is to expedite your recovery. Your body can only allocate so much energy. By staying at home you not only stop your body from having to expend energy to move and concentrate on work, but you also limit the number of foreign invaders in your system brought on by being around other people and their germs. Most of the time your body can combat these foreign invaders with no issue, but it is already fighting a war on one front, it doesn't need another.
The second reason, AND THIS IS THE ONE JACKASSES LIKE TO FORGET, is to NOT FUCKING INFECT EVERYONE ELSE LIKE A GODDAMN PRICK. If you are fucking SICK. STAY THE FUCK HOME. I DON'T WANT YOU COUGHING ALL OVER MY GODDAMN GROCERIES.
When you're healthy again drive over there and tell him the labor board will be in contact with him shortly. He can't fire you for that reason.
Your boss sounds like a honking great wanker.
Contact some authorities. Firing someone for simply calling in sick is not exactly legal, not in a western country, at least.
Oh I am late, nvm.
You people need to read the thread, he got himself a new job.
Why didn't you ask if they have any spots free before you quit your old job?
Because I wasn't going to work for that fucker anymore either way.
My thoughts are, HE CAN'T HELP BEING SICK. And in addition to that, why did you get a phone line if you're never going to use it the way it was meant...for employees to call in sick, quit, etc.
I don't want someone sneezing on my Nintendo DS.
If the boss is that big of a prick, its not worth trying to get your job back in the first place. I feel sorry for you op.
