Anybody pumped for the new deadmau5 album?
yes [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] Just got the new song "Right this Second", It's awesome.
Yep! I'm looking forward to it. Plan to buy it on CD when it comes out and rip it. (I like having quality rips)
The couple of song I've heard from it are pretty decent I guess. Sofi Needs a Ladder has obnoxious vocals, Sleeping Beauty Pills sounds like it's just a rip-off of Daft Punk's Digital Love, and rest is just blah. I think "For Lack Of A Better Name" was a true masterpiece, and 4x4=12 will most likely not be able to top it. [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] also, deadmau5 sucks at maths :v:

I loved strobe and for lack of a better name.
Not really. I've heard all of the songs from it and they are an odd blend of electro and dubstep. Personally I think he is getting worse as a musician since all the songs sound like they belong in a club rather than have any musical merit. Joel seems more interested in making money now than rather making really good songs. Sofi Needs a Ladder is just You Need a Ladder with some chick autotuned voice. He put one song on there, Before Everything, which I'm glad he did since it is one of his older songs before he sold out. Anything after For Lack of a Better Name, has really been half assed and seems to take no effort into composing any songs. His old progressive house songs have always been amazing since he can take those really down tempo songs and turn them into a club song. Primarily talking about Slip, Not Exactly, Arguru and Complications.
Some chords and Cthulhu are good
I can't believe people actually like Deadmau5, he's a total douche and his music is generic and uninteresting.
don't really get where people get the whole douche-thing from.
don't really get where people get the whole douche-thing from.
You haven't talked to him face to face.
And anyways what wrong with a douche, i mean come on they clean vaginas.
I think his music is great, but at interviews, he is a huge douche. He isn't nice to people in general. It's a shame really.
Notice how the most generic shit gets super popular? Deadmau5 is the nickelback of electronic music.
listened through the album's songs sounds like dubstep-influenced shit. i hope to god that this is just an experimental album
Notice how the most generic shit gets super popular? Deadmau5 is the nickelback of electronic music.
No, benassi is the nickelback of electronic music.
So I actually got the album and listened to it. Ehh... is the only reaction I can really show here - the songs aren't all that great. However, some seem pretty decent, and there are rumours of a proper album being released next year, so we can all hope.
Generic music is fine because I don't listen to the radio. Haven't really listened to Deadmau5 much. But I do like Ghosts N Stuff (featuring Rob Swire), Remember and Strobe. Because those are the only ones that caught my attention or people pressured me to actually listen to them (Strobe).
Notice how the most generic shit gets super popular? Deadmau5 is the nickelback of electronic music.
And you're forgetting about the trance sub-genre?
His music doesnt interest me at all, its just bland and uncreative.

Does it have a date set?
I'm Pumped. It seems a lot of people on FP have a negative view of Deadmau5.

I think the album is pretty good, It'll probably grow on me even more. Still I think For Lack of a Better Name is his masterpiece though.
I could never get into Deadmau5, his music just never interested me.
don't really get where people get the whole douche-thing from.

“It puts me to fucking sleep, to be quite honest; I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to fucking tears and hopefully, with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur, I'd like them to dis-a-fucking-pear! It's so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers! You need them, but they’re fucking cunts. God bless them, they’re my number one customer right, so I’m not gonna go dis every fucking DJ. But to say you become this massive, "up on a podium" performer by playing other peoples productions, at the same speed as someone else's productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it...”
http://trainspottr.com/uncategorized/djproducer-deadmau5-public-statement-about-djs-theyre-fcking-cts
Once you listen to other electronic artists you will find out that they completely dwarf Deadmau5. Deadmau5 is electro for dubstep kids. For having a number in his name, he sure is bad at math!
