Admittedly, it saddens me having a lack of solidarity, as the place where I'm in is very hetrosexual-orientated, and I've only met three other folks who are openly LGBT.

Exactly why it's confusing - he seems happy, but it's like "is he happy that he is out and about with new folks, or does he actually have feelings in that area" line of thought.
