You can feel the heat difference when you walk out onto the landing its fucking insane. Wish I had a thermometer to just see how warm it is in here.

Glad I don't have a window facing sunrise / set.
91% humidity? Fuck florida
At least the weather here is fairly consistent. The highest the temperature has ever been here was 100F and that was 70 years ago.
I just finished an argumwnt with my dad on facebook, he was being pretty much a jerk throughout so I posted it publically as a status for everyone to see. It was not pretty :/
Clearly he's being a bit of a dick here but you guys are no angels either. From what I got, you don't visit your Dad very frequently and he wanted to buy you airguns. It sounds like he just wanted some way of spending time with you guys doing a group activity. Your apparent response to this was to shoot him down entirely without trying the guns. I think perhaps it's a difference in cultural responses, but if my Dad was to say "I'm buying you expensive present x as a way for us to spend time together!" I'd be polite. I might tacitly suggest a different present but if he was enthusiastic to share a gift with me, I'd at least feign pleasure and interest to avoid hurting his feelings. "Seriously, if you want an air rifle so badly buy yourself one, don't press your ideas onto other people." I don't think he wants an air rifle. I think he wants to go shooting with his sons. Those are two very different things. Sometimes when I'm at home I spend a lot of time in my room Skyping people, Facebooking people, generally using the internet etc. My Mum will call me down to help her set up the Wii Fit. It's not because she especially wants to go on the Wii and it's not because she can't set up the Wii (she can), it's because she misses me and wants to hang out. So I'll stop what I'm doing and play a few games with her and chat, because one day she's going to be dead and I don't want to miss out with that. "We know best syndrome" is non existant, it's actually rather human to believw strongly in things but unfortunately you have begun to claim that we are being urightfully stubborn on the most trivial, insane things." What does this mean? "It's rather human to believe strongly in things"? That sounds like it means something, but it doesn't. Your Dad probably is hinting that you have very strong opinions and reject his outright on the basis that you know better than your Dad. Everyone does it. I ignore my parents' advice for the most part, even when I shouldn't. In hindsight I can be quite arrogant about some things that my parents do know better about.
We have had good reason to refuse the notion while instead you have decided to work upon the basic idea that they might be fun. Not only is it actually illegal for us to own them there are several problems. Firstly, the cost; the rifles you suggested were low quality and non-brand and even they were expensive, and most likely prone to fault with the mechanisms. Two, they would be a waste of money in entirity because we visit you literally one weekend per fortnight. Believe it or not shooting tin cans endlessly can get tiring after the initial rush of pulling the trigger. Thirdly I'm anti-firearm and I don't believe civilians need firearms, it's a stupid idea that gave americans a 8x greater death rate for weapons than the UK. On top of which we aren't interested in them, YOU are and you became OBSSESSED with them and tried to put it to us. You don't know why Mark loses his patience with us, but nice argumentum ad hominem fallacy, don't even bother trying to use fallacies against me. Frankly, we have good reason to ignore your points when it came to those air rifles.
Even if it's illegal, that's clearly a non-issue. Your Dad would "techincally" own them, nobody would get in trouble. You've done a couple of bad things here 1. Insulted your Dad's gift by calling it crappy. If someone's buying you a gift, even if you don't want it, you're supposed to be gracious. "Well, that's really generous of you, but I don't know..." rather than "WTF? NO!". This has probably hurt his feelings quite a bit, because he might not be able to get a top of the line gun but he's doing his best. Also I don't for a second believe you care about the mechanism being dodgy, since you're apparently disinterested. 2. It's your Dad's call as to whether or not his act of generosity is a waste of time. A friend of mine with divorced parents discovered her Dad had bought her an upright piano for when she came to visit because sometimes she'd forget to bring her keyboard from her Mum's house. Parents like doing shit like this for her kids and saying "Don't bother doing this because I rarely see you" is upsetting because a) you're throwing the gift back in their face, b) you're rubbing the fact you rarely see him in his face, c) you make it sound like going to see him is a chore. That stabs at a parent's heart. 3. Calling "Shooting tin cans endlessly" tiring? I mean that's such a feeble excuse. Loads of activities are tiring. It makes it sound like you're clutching at straws looking for reasons to get out of doing this. 4. The anti-gun thing - I mean, come on. Air guns aren't the same as guns. My Dad has an air gun, he uses it to scare off the squirrels from the tomatoes. An air gun startles a squirrel by pinging it with a pellet. It doesn't hurt the squirrel, much less a human being. Kids in school started a massive drama because loads of people smuggled in BB guns and held a shoot out. I've been pinged with BB pellets - they sting, but they don't hurt. Your anti-gun stuff makes sense if he wanted to buy you a pistol, but an air gun? This is such a contrived argument. Also I think the UK technically has more per capita crimes than the US average. 5. Also using the latin terms for various logical fallacies in an argument with your Dad is a bad idea, because it makes you sound like a pseudo-intellectual who's trying hard to appear smarter than their father. You're Dad's being a dick by still pushing this, but it's probably because you've hurt his feelings. I mean, is it that much hassle just to do something you don't enjoy to make your Dad happy for a bit? I hated going to the Imperial War Museum and similar places when I was a kid (I much preferred the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum) but my Dad enjoyed telling me about Spitfires and Messerschmitts so I'd go along because ultimately, it's not about going to gawp at planes or shoot tin cans, it's about spending time with your parent. Outright saying to them that you don't want their present because it's boring and rubbish is incredibly rude because presents are a gift. You never insult someone's present if they've tried to make you happy with it, no matter how terrible it is. Publicly putting this up makes you look like a little kid. Not just your pops. And honestly speaking, I can see the guy's point. Pretty much everything Splurgy said.

Spent the past 2 hours driving around town listening to music with the windows down enjoying the night. I wish we didn't have the A/C on, because I would just open my window.
