First time someone asked me to go in was Fourth of July last year, I just said no and enjoyed my 3 days off.
You shouldn't feel obligated to necessarily be put on the spot to help out like that. Sure, it's nice, but it's not unreasonable to say no.

Like, a lot? I can't imagine sticking a needle THROUGH your skin isn't deathly painful.
The opening ceremony for the games is due to start soon. My biggest fear is it'll be mediocre. It better be either hilariously bad, or good. I'm willing to settle for "Mediocre, but there's a fuck up half way through and something catches fire".

The earlobe has very little nerves in it, so you feel little to nothing when piercing it.
I lost my earlobe once when I was like six, my mom was drunk and tried to cut my hair :v:

Agree (on both points, I think!).
Although judging by the amount of hype Danny Boyle's gotten for this ceremony, I have quite high hopes that it's going to be on the better end of the scale...
I shave my arms not for any special reason but just because it's unsightly in my case.
