Eh, I think it's at least partly because most people who are parents these days were young during the AIDS epidemic that killed loads of gay people.
I mean my friend's Mum noticed that Will Young was looking a bit skinny and said that she reckons he has AIDS. That seems preposterous to us, but back in the 80s if a famous gay person looked a bit skinny, they probably had AIDS.
The world's changed at a breakneck speed and HIV is no longer a death sentence, but I think we tend to forget how horrifying living through the early days of AIDS where they thought it was just gay people getting it and seeing pictures of young men who should be super healthy, emaciated and covers in Kaposi's sarcomas.
It probably put the gay rights movement back decades because everyone freaked out that the gays had some mystery illness

2. Try and teach yourself complicated piano piece without knowing how to read bass clef and without really knowing how to play piano

done with senior year and going to community college for 2 years to get normal credits so I can see what I want to do with my life
