I don't see any reason why not. We're all human with the same emotions and thoughts. Think of it as a twisted but real way to remind yourself that it [i]could[/i] be worse. It's an argument that is brought up because it works, it varies from person to person, but if you have the mental capacity to consider your emotions a part of a scale then you would likely be sitting there on the bottom of it.

If you consider your emotions on too large a scale then you're over blowing everything out of proportion and have no real perspective on what's important in YOUR life relative to how YOU'RE living.
