Had a massive shout off with one of my Parents over how I don't talk to them as much as I did - never really told you folks in my first post here, but basically put, I had a massive burnout from my 6th Form, so effectively, I had left in January of this year.
They always said "Why don't you tell us things? You're destroying this family with you dictating everything that goes on in the home, just because Alex doesn't want to do it on his watch!!" - obviously my Aspergers does sometimes do that (partly as when they normally attempt to force the engagement, I am feeling unwell, so I don't feel like talking in the first place), but to be frank, I think I only really keep my distance and not speak to them simply because of how I came out.
I didn't really get the ideal response I was hoping for - I wasn't expecting them to agree with the whole thing (one is Catholic, not a die-hard one, but from a catholic background), especially as someone who has not been 'out and about' could not possibly have any form of sexual identification [even though I did]. It took about a week for things to settle down, but it still felt uncomfortable in the home.
I suppose I do sound like an ass whenever I choose to keep to myself, but really, I just don't fee confident in holding my own ground to talk about my own issues, thoughts, etc to folks who may just completely criticise the whole ideal.
Here's to hoping that my UCAS application will still be accepted by Anglia Ruskin - would be nice to get the hell out of here and live in Cambridge. Might just make my life turn around properly. Would be alot better though if Elvis Hair (the guy I showed in my first post) did come out as gay. <3[/QUOTE]
Oh, I cut my parents out of that part of my life completely. They have no useful information to give to me and will never be comfortable discussing it. Just plough on through and get the hell out of there. Don't expect Uni to change your life, though - it's loads of fun but at the end of the day, you're still you.

I suppose what I meant was that Uni will at least give me the new lease - not as in change the game completely, but enough to feel more secure with myself and get out from the depressive place that is currently home.
Thank you for your advice however Splurg - the universities said they still have places, so I'm hoping it's not too late.
