I'd say I've got a good chance, most of it was technical stuff, they didn't ask me anything I didn't know and I explained my answers at length. Only thing that really let me down was having no prior experience.
I'm not in any position to comment on what the gay scene is like as a whole, but if what Splurgy says is true, then I hope the Chicago gay scene or wherever else I end up is a tad more sentimental. I'm not a very sexual person - not asexual but I'd rather hold out until I feel right about things, and so far I've only been able to imagine myself feeling that way if I'm in a relationship. I don't say this because I think that things will always be conducive to such a dream, although I grew up having my gayness supported from all sides, so maybe I still am a bit starry-eyed. All I know is I don't want the extent of my relationships to be defined by sex.

As far as I'm aware, Chicago doesn't have much of a gay scene.

Splurgy is right about a lot of things and from experience I know they are true, but times are changing.
Ultimately it's becoming more socially acceptable to be gay, and openly gay, and it's making it easier for younger generations of people to have strong monogamous relationships. Some people go one way, some people go the other. About half of the people I know go for relationships, and half for sex. The problem is it's just... easier to get sex if you want it as a gay man. There are no barriers, if you want sex, you get sex, and after that, even if you WANT a relationship you've already picked up this culture of easy sex, and it's hard to forget.
So yeah, some people get into a culture of dating/relationships and some people get into a spiral of sex/mistrust that is hard to break out of...
