So.... what was the big plot twist?
Digital Spy writer probably thought the dolls house bit was AMAHZING.
[editline]3rd September 2011[/editline]
And OH GOD PERCEPTION FILTER
Night Terrors was an 'okay' episode..
Although at the end the doctor says "...It's good to be back together again, in the flesh"... It seems like that quote was awfully forced. Just sayin.
Is it me, or was something like 90% of the plot copied from 'Fear Her'? That episode with the kid that drew people.
Same solution too.
THE POWAH OF LUV!
Like Victory of the Fucking Daleks

Can we kill this theory now.
What sort of Flesh would do that? That's like a secret agent for the FBI in the Taliban introducing himself to Osama by saying "Who the eff be I?"

Gatiss has got some daddy issues

Yeah, but I reckon it was an "Amy was a wooden doll" joke.
Meh, it was pretty bad, although I did like the part where the people transformed into the dolls, that was quite creepy
tick-tock
goes the clock
Even for The Doctor
Loved that part.
am i the only one who really enjoyed this episode? no river, no huge enemies, no stupid twists, no "bigger picture" just the doctor fighting off some enemies, just like doctor who used to be
before i get given enough boxes to build a fort i would like to say i'm a classic doctor who fan (favourites are 4-7) and i love the fact this was a simple episode just like in the good old days
also, loved the snow white and the 7 keys of doomsday
the ending was kind of disappointing, LOVE should never be a main factor in killing an enemy, but i do like how they gave a reason unlike victory of the daleks
I love how people across the internet bitch and whine because Who becomes more serialised, then completely backpedal the moment the old format is reverted to.
I liked the episode. Lost the feel once everyone was in the house though, and the dolls weren't handled in a way that I found them creepy - the sing song voices and giggling seemed unnecessary and just sort of going "LOOK AT THIS EPISODE. LOOK HOW SCARY IT IS." Up until they went into the cupboard, though, I really liked it, and the whole thing wasn't bad at all :v:
My main problem with Gatiss is how his trailers make the enemies look really awesome. Be it Daleks, ghosts and TV demons. But then they're kinda naff.
Wasn't great, wasn't awful, but GODDAM those Dolls were creepy.
Also, I think that the Dolls were like the "immune system" of the kid's mind/psychic repository, similar to the Antibodies in the Tessalector, although the Antibodies didn't hideously mutate people into new "recruits". And that's basically what I think it was; the Doll's House was the immune system of the kid's mind, and the Dolls were like the white blood cells, except instead of consuming or binding to the foreign bodies, the Dolls attack like a far less subtle version of The Thing, infecting the foreign bodies with their essence and transforming them into new soldiers to fend off any threats.
It's kind of an ingenious strategy, since if a REAL threat entered the mind, like a sentient psychic virus or a creepy ghost girl (the former is a more sci-fi version of the latter) or even the maddening influence of an eldritch abomination, then logically the intruder would be capable of taking out several defenders before they finally neutralise and assimilate it, so the Dolls would need a way to replenish their forces, since apparently the kid's "MIS" doesn't produce them automatically yet (he's young, after all, and puberty may likely bring a heavy reshuffling of his mind); with just the one original Doll that assimilated the first threats and eventually accumulated a small force that would've likely grown even more if not for the Doctor's intervention.
Guys, does this this blank image gives you chills too? I don't know, it's weird; I get the jibblies when I look away, bad jibblies - not good jibblies. I know what good jibblies feel like, these aren't those.

On a serious note, if you didn't watch Dr Who you would not expect that to be on a show played at 7pm for kids [sp]I know it has a large adult audience blah blah blah[/sp]

So X-files

That would actually be a stroke of genius, because the FBI doesn't do overseas operations.
Neither amazing or bad, had potential to be better if they altered the script, like more emphasis on the dolls and not on the obvious fact that it was a dolls house.
I thought this episode in general was really awesome.
I thought this was a slightly disappointing episode - almost felt the behind the scenes stuff in confidential was more interesting. Did like the character of George though and thought it could be very interesting if the Doctor went to see him again at puberty as he said he might.

I have a feeling he'll join the Doctor's Reservist Army.
IMO, this wasn't an amazing episode but it wasn't bad either. The only thing that kind of disappointed me was that I was expecting a really scary episode and ended up not being scared at all. Ah how I long for the first time I watched the empty child.
It's definitely not a bad episode (Love and Monsters, Daleks in Manhattan) but it's probably going to go down as the worst episode of the half-series. Maybe I'm being optimistic.
Hey guys, I've been working on my own TARDIS interior recently with some input from Jessbinx, who's also going to be doing some concept art. If anyone else wants to put forward some ideas, fire away!
It's basically steampunk themed, specifically aimed at using objects and technology from the industrial revolution, such as steam power, pipes, cogs, gauges.
Here are a couple of renders of the very early stages:

And finally, here's an unrelated shot of the TARDIS flying through space, which was just me experimenting with fluids and paint effects:

It'll pumping, steaming and hooting!
I love how the Silence (that aren't actually the Silence) have suits. They bring a bit of sophistication to an alien invasion.
