That'd suck. Because whilst it's technically the Doctor in every way, he's not the real Doctor. He's never been to any of the places the real Doctor's been. He's never seen Gallifrey with his own eyes. Etcetera, etcetera.
He has, it's in his memory despite the fact that he's never se- Nevermind, cba with a philosophical debate haha.
But it's not even a philosophical debate. No light has been reflected from any part of Gallifrey into the Ganger Doctor's eyes. He's just got memories he inherited from the real Doctor. No part of his body has ever been outside of that island where they mined Acid. Therefore, no matter what Stephen Moffat wrote about the Gangers being identical to the originals, they're not the same person. Hence, I would be pissed off if Moffat killed the Doctor (who is essentially the same individual who's been in Doctor Who since the very first episode) and replaced him with a Ganger Doctor. I don't think I'm being unreasonable...
What about 10 and The End of Time?
what about him?
no light has entered the doctor's eyes from gallifrey either he's regenerated 3 times since it was destroyed [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] I don't see why when the Doctor regenerates into a new body he's the same person but if he gets cloned with the same body he's a different person.
Good point. And evl, the reason this would be a philosophical debate is because of this point Dain made, he's been regenerated in to a new body so many times, but retains those memories. Does that mean he's still the same person? It's like the analogy of the boat, if over time all of the parts of a boat (the mast, flag etc) are replaced, is it still the same boat? If the ganger doctor is the one that stays alive, he is no different to the 'real' doctor. We only perceive him differently because we know of his origins. However, he still retains the same DNA, memories and personality as the 'original' doctor.
Awesome. I'm sort of bummed we didn't get to go there back in August. Was the food good? [editline]edit[/editline] Oh god, page king. Here, have an awesome picture:
What's annoying from when we went is that Eddie's diner is directly opposite the Ianto wall. Like, metres away. It's just got a small frontage that is tucked away behind a building in the centre of the walkway. You can look out the window and practically see the Ianto wall. fail.
I find it incredibly sad that people set up a wall for a character in a TV show...
It was really weird. There were notes from people all over the world complaining about Torchwood moving to America and how much they hate RTD for killing Ianto.

Oh btw, I don't know if I told you guys but I went to the Forbidden Planet in Liverpool, and it's so much bigger than the Cardiff one. And it had the 11th Doctor's screwdriver too. I was this close to buying it and then the guy said I couldn't take it on an airplane. [editline]edit[/editline] Yeah, the wall is pretty creepy. Someone made a little Ianto voodoo doll and dressed it in a mini Ianto suit.
Dain, are you gonna start the stream yet?
Dain, are you gonna start the stream yet?
eh why not doctor who doesn't start for like an hour and a half though so I'll be streaming Remembrance of the Daleks unless procaster throws a hissy fit and doesn't like the codec http://www.livestream.com/dainstalkanlurk
can't wait to see the cybermen again!
Finally caught up, what is it with all the Dr Whos being depressing these days? :( Doctor even, goodness me
Finally caught up, what is it with all the Dr Whos being depressing these days? :(
Get out.
Finally caught up, what is it with all the Dr Whos being depressing these days? :( Doctor even, goodness me
I don't know any doctor named Whos in the series, let alone multiple doctor Whos'.
About an hour to go - hope it's as good as The Lodger was last year
What is up with all these episodes of the television programme Doctor Who being depressing these days?
What is up with all these episodes of the television programme Doctor Who being depressing these days?
Because drama sells, just look at the news.
Rewatching the Lodger, hoping I'll make it.
How long 'till the episode now?
How long 'till the episode now?
34 or 39 minutes.
Good news, everyone! Unless I'm late, in which case, bad news. But Series Seven will not actually be a split series, according to Moffat.
Ok fellow Whovians, 5 minutes to the Doctor working in a shop! Earlier my telly was on the fritzl, so I had to muck about with a new SCART cable, and in the end I fiddled around with PIP and Swap on the remote and things were fixed. Long story short i'll definitely be watching.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/watchlive/ HERE WE GO
Oo Merlin.... Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill are in it? [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] The Doctor with a job? [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] I wish this was set in Colchester i live about 20 mins from there.
Well that was quick.
Wow, what a fucking cheap way of getting out of that. Reminds me of something RTD would do.
POWER OF LOVE

Reminds me of something RTD would do.
I'm so glad RTD didn't make this episode. Funny gay undertones would have been 20 minutes of full on sloppy love making between the Doctor and Craig with Alfie watching.
