Indeed; his death comes when the eleventh ends and the twelfth begins.
Also, I had a feeling that he was going to call in a favour to exploit a loophole; however I forgot about the Tessalector. Nonetheless I always KNEW he was gonna cheat death; he always does.
It has. Plot arc = Doctor dying.
It just turns out that him dying on the beach wasn't the death the poem told of.

Still no explanation for the face that appeared in the Tardis and the man's voice saying "SILENCE WILL FALL" about 20 episodes ago
No explanation on WHY the TARDIS blew up. Nor Amy acting weird in the TARDIS in The Lodger. When Amy was taken and replaced. Why the Silence told Amy she would bring the Silence.
Or has Moffat completely forgotten about that?
Fucking Brigadier should have gone out five rounds rapid :(
It has. Plot arc = Doctor dying.
Certain said "plot arc" has been running since episode 1 with Series 5. Aka "Why did the Tardis go boom?". The Cracks and the Doctor dying were merely incidental.
-snip-
My post didn't appear weirdly.

Very first episode of the series? It wasn't WHY DID THE TARDIS BLOW UP? It was WHO blew it up. The WHO was The Silence. The WHY is because they hacked it and detonated it. That was never an issue.
Right, is someone working on an animated GIF of Amy firing that gun?

Why would they want to erase the universe?
The voice in the TARDIS is different to the Silence's, it's probably the head of the organisation (I think it's Omega, but we'll save that for another day), but we don't know for sure yet. Lots of loose ends need to be tied up.
I loved it. Absolutely loved it. Didn't see that coming, loved it when it went back to the scene where he walked away from the Tesselecta, and he came back :v:
One thing I will say is that, since it had to pack so much stuff into one episode, it felt a little rushed, especially the ending.
Why would they want to erase the universe?
Answered in the episode just on.
They wanted to stop The Doctor living as he's going to do something terrible in the future.

I think the how was that "they hacked it and detonated it". The why is still a little unclear.

'Why' questions are horribly perpetuating. I think a more reasonable question is "WHO has the power to control and cause a Tardis to blow up?" And oh my, the possibilities >:3
Why would they erase the universe to prevent the Doctor doing something in the future? That's kinda counter-productive, surely?

Ahh, but if River was programmed by The Silence how do we know she wasn't blowing The TARDIS up subconsciously.
Who would the old man saying "Silence will fall" be then?
Why would they erase the universe to prevent the Doctor doing something in the future? That's kinda counter-productive, surely?
Well it worked because he fixed the universe and erased himself from time to do it. I doubt the really expected a crack in a little girls bedroom to save the day.
Who would the old man saying "Silence will fall" be then?
Anybody working for The Silence. Or an early voice work for The Silence.
Ahh, but if River was programmed by The Silence how do we know she wasn't blowing The TARDIS up subconsciously.
Why have I never considered this? This is brilliant.
PS, I'm being mostly speculative to form geeky debate.

They didn't. That was River's doing, not the Silence's.

It'd include themselves.
Watching doctor who always makes me want some kind of time-travelling sandbox game.
Get on it Rockstar.
Did uh, Did anyone notice that Patch on River's arm right near the end?
When she's sat in the garden with Amy.
Kinda looked like an Omega patch.

I was going to edit my post but seeing as you said this:
I much prefer it when questions are answered within the narrative instead of everything being left to speculation. I think everyone probably does, actually. But I was expecting this episode to wrap up a lot of things we've seen since S5EP1in a coherent manner, and for the most part it did... for the self-contained series plot arc. We shall have to wait.

It's the symbol of the Silence, aka, the clerics.

Wasn't that uniform worn during the episode with the Weeping Angels? Same symbol showed up at Demon's Run.
Wait, What happened in the Library that linked to this episode or whatever?

Well, there is that free MMO in development called Doctor Who: Worlds in Time, but I guess that's not what you're looking for.
Speaking fof Doctor Who video games, guess what?

Did you listen to anything she said? She told Amy she'd just climbed out of the Byzantium. The ship that crashed in the Time of Angels two-parter. She was still wearing the uniform of the Clerics.

Woah there buddy, they were merely pointing out the fact she had that symbol on her arm. Not why she was stilling wearing the uniform. Jeezus.

I didn't particularly enjoy the free games they'd made for Doctor Who. They didn't really feel right as a basic point and click adventure. Plus I found them too basic.
