I liked the episode but there's one thing bothering me: Are we really supposed to believe that the Doctor pretty must just spent 200 years of his life (more or less a sixth) flying around and nothing major happened? He burned trough 2 regenerations in a few years and then 200 go by like that? And nothing significant happened to affect his personality, either? Come on. Sorry for a badly written post, really tired right now.
Moffat has said that the doctor doesn't know his age, he just adds a few years when ever someone asks. It's hard to tell the passing of time as you are flying through it.
I'd find it hilarious if the Doctor's real name was Larry or something.
I still think it's [REDACTED], in my opinion. Can't be spoken or things go boom; the name is too powerful and too dangerous to ever be spoken. I tried to say [REDACTED], but something keeps making it null.
That's silly. It's going to be Who. Wait a minute, that's even more silly.

Wow I thought that the whole tesselector stand-in was incredibly predictable from the moment the Doctor realised he was talking to it. However the question I thought was pretty good. I'm pretty sure in other series when people used to ask what the Doctors name was and he'd say "Just the Doctor", but that hasn't been happening as much in this season. I love those comics, there needs to be more.
That theorys a bit of a stretch. Also what did River tell the doctor on the episode where she dies in the library if he never told her his name?
She did whisper his name to him, we just don't know how she knows yet.
She did whisper his name to him, we just don't know how she knows yet.
It was written on his cot in Galifreyan (?), wasn't it?
I have to say, The Silence are one of the few actually decent 'villains' in doctor who - the daleks and cybermen just look ridiculous
Now we have to wait until next year :C
Even worse. We don't just have to wait till Aprill, the series won't return till April :(
On the doctor's name thing, didn't he say his middle name around the end of God Complex? I didn't catch what he said. Even if he was joking. And on the whole "Doctor Who?" business, I normally find it extremely corny when some says "Doctor Who?" on Doctor Who, but this time I found it sort of cool and corny, like the whole episode was a giant buildup to the most 4th wall breaking question ever.
The Silence are decent but let's not diss Daleks and Cybermen. Cybermen are awesome.
On the doctor's name thing, didn't he say his middle name around the end of God Complex? I didn't catch what he said. Even if he was joking.
He's also half human and Santa Claus.
I always thought Doctor Who broke the fourth wall extremely well. Like how sometimes when the angels are on screen and no one is looking at them but the audience, they stay frozen. The question at the end is just another great example of that. PLOT HOLE If the question "Doctor Who?" is answered, the universe ends. But why didn't the universe end when he responds "just The Doctor"? Moffat, you clearly have no idea how to write a television show.

It was a joke.
Also, was that an innuendo when something along the lines of "amy and rory came to watch me die" and "river song came twice" ? Yeah she was the astronaut as well as the person on the beach so she did come twice but did they mean it to be an innuendo too?
If it was, it wasn't very funny. Or sensible.
Not sure if i liked yesterdays episode, it felt a bit like it was happening all too fast really and wasn't serious enough.
I liked it as an episode, not so much as a finale, if that makes sense.
I wonder, seeing as the Doctor told River to look in his eye (So she knew he was a fake), could she have told the Doctor she was a fake (If she swapped with a fake in the last minutes) in the Library episode?
All of my fan fiction is ruined now.
It's a stretch at best, but I don't think Moffat would overuse a MacGuffin. Use something too much and it becomes cheap. Then again, is using something twice necessarily cheap?
Well, that actually happened last year, with the Doctor going around Kazran Sardic's past, present and future. This year's special is probably gonna be something a little different, maybe the Doctor goes to Scandinavia and uncovers an ancient festive secret?
Also, I really hope what Bill Turnbull, Susanna Reid and Dicken's discussion on his new "Christmas special" will be the next Christmas special.
It was an in-joke. They were discussing A Christmas Carol, but we had "A Christmas Carol" last year, already.
I googled 'Doctor Whos name'
But if that's true, the universe should be dead! MOFFAT, YOU KNOW NOTHING!
The Doctor's actual name is [sp]Balder[/sp]
