Alright, I'm practicing the Pandorica speech to fit my costume.
My friend is throwing a Halloween party in her new house in London with her new house-mates.
I was told I can't go as The Doctor. Social suicide.
So I complained to her boyfriend who I'm friends with. Turns out he was told the same thing.
I complained to her close friend who I'm friends with. Turns out she was told the same thing. (Was gonna go as a sexy Eleventh Doctor)
Three people wanting to go as The Doctor. All shot down :(
If I find somebody there as The Doctor I'll throw shit at the fan.

how original, i mean picking the doctor of all people to go as, how did you come up with it????
I've literally never heard of it before
Given that you guys hate the idea of a movie and the fact that I don't like Matt Smith as the Doctor or Steven Moffat's writing, I'm going to have stop watching and sell my DVDs as every fan doesn't seem to get a long with me which clearly means I'm watching the wrong show.

I bet you your friend who is throwing the party is going as the Doctor.
Also I still want a Davros/Master story line.
Also why didn't John Simms master simply regenerate after his injuries? Be cool if he comes back even more damaged and mental from escaping the time lock. Then boom regeneration into a saner, sophisticated, smarter Master. Benedict Cumberbatch or Patrick Stewart would do.
He didn't regenerate because in doing so, he held power over the Doctor and became Master of his emotions. Remember what he said? "The Doctor, down to begging. I win."
Also because he would rather die than be a prisoner of the Doctor for the rest of time.
Say, I wonder what they'd call Doctor Who in China? Doctor Hu? If that was the case his zodiac sign would be that of the tiger. (Hu means tiger in Chinese, apparently)
But then another thought; Doctor Who as a 70's martial arts movie, with the Doctor kung-fuing Cybermen and suchlike aboard Hong Kong Station.
One last pseudo Who thing; Doctor Who plus Inception. It'd be like Amy's Choice only with more dream-time.
One, that's racist and two, they wouldn't call it anything because it doesn't EXIST in China. Time travel ban and all that.
If you want to know though, the translation of Doctor Who for fansubs is 神秘博士 .

True, you aren't trolling. You're fanning old flames and victimising yourself.
Actually, Firefly/Serenity was really, really good.
I know that was my point. By "the Firefly route" I meant that a movie should only be made if the series were to get suddenly cancelled without a proper sendoff.

all of you should go as different doctors.

"Every fan doesn't seem to get along with me which clearly means I'm watching the wrong show." Oh piss off, stop watching it because you don't like the show. You're basically saying it's our fault that you're not watching the show, despite the fact you clearly said you don't like the current Doctor or the current head writer. Basically, you don't like the show, but for some reason you feel you need to blame us for having different opinions and seem to be claiming that we're somehow forcing you to stop watching. I honestly don't know why you even posted here, that comment is just ridiculous.
Basically; grow up, and don't even think about saying it's our fault that you can't enjoy the show. Also, how the hell would the fact that we hate the idea of a movie mean that you can't watch the show? I honestly don't understand what the hell you're trying to get at here.

or maybe just the wrong doctor?
i hate the writing of the new series but i still bury myself in classic DVDs
To be fair Moffat has had some terrible writing this season (Let's Kill Hitler is a complete disaster and River Song has been ruined). But Matt Smith is far better than Tennant ever wanted to or could be.
Moffat isn't this god everyone makes him out to be, he's a pretty mediocre writer. He's good as a one episode writer, but not as head writer.
Now, Neil Gaiman as head writer...

Moffat needs to just space out his ideas and work with one, rather then seven. That's why LKH was terrible, it was packed full of "cool" ideas, was a complete mess, was resolved with a bad ending to mop up the mass amounts of ideas thrown into it and ultimately failed as an episode. It had sports cars in fields, a rebellious woman who breaks all the laws, Nazi Germany, River regenerating and acting crazy, River trying and almost succeeding to kill the Doctor, River growing up as Amy's best friend, the teselector and the shrunked humans who operate it as time police, Hitler, and ultimately a pointless ending completely nullifying River being a timelord at all making that part of her story completely and utterly useless and unneeded. I'd say it's just as bad as Fear Her and Love and Monsters.
Given his apparent disillusion with the show and the pending sale of his DVDs I don't think RoboChimp should be posting in this thread. If he does, I think I might interpret it as trolling/attention seeking.
Matt Smith can make any writing look good in my opinion, as he has his performance as the "old man in a young man's body" Doctor absolutely pinned down and perfected.

You all take Doctor Who too seriously.
A bad episode of Doctor Who is still brilliant TV.
I don't think we should ever see the Time War on screen simply because it would ruin it, not to mention The Doctor mentions the horrors of the time war such as: The Nightmare Child, The horde of travesties, and so on
Now, I have no clue what a "Nightmare Child" is but if it has jaws big enough for a Dalek flagship to fly into, I really don't think I wanna see it...

Don't kid yourself. Cringing at Doctor Who is just as bad as cringing at any other TV show.

Probably better unseen than seen.
Horde of travesties might be cool after the Silence is done though.
Everyone, let's slag off writers we were complementing a year a go!
Everyone, let's slag off writers we were complementing a year a go!
A year ago we had series 5, right? That was pretty much an infallible series, definitely my favourite. Which is a shame, because I do love the character development Rory's received. But in recent episodes Moffat seems to have gone on a bit of a tangent. Easily remedied mistakes, but mistakes nevertheless. We're not being hypocrites, simply showing our opinion on something that's recent.

The Water of Mars?
Everyone, let's slag off writers we were complementing a year a go!
Series 5 was good, but that was just Moffat testing the waters before he went completely bat shit this series. It doesn't suit a show like Doctor Who to do series wide arcs, the self contained episodes in Series 6 were the best by far, and they weren't even by Moffat.
The Water of Mars?
I liked that episode...
I liked that episode...
Yeah same here, the only thing I disliked about it is that you never see whatever the hell those water zombies are summoning out of the ice (we can only assume it's terrible and not-to-be-seen)
the only truly, truly terrible Doctor Who episode that comes to mind is Love and Monsters, and I try to pretend that shit never fucking happened :v:

Haha, besides the conclusion to that (up until the monster at the end), I kinda liked that episode.. I guess we simply have different tastes. I didn't like The Water of Mars simply because I thought the doctor was too out of character.

I guess they could've toned down the "TIME SHALL BOW DOWN TO MEEE" factor a little, but that's pretty much the only gripe I had with the episode - other than that, I thought it was awesome. The last quarter of Love and Monsters made me want to kill myself, though. Okay, not really, but it did completely ruin what could've otherwise been an interesting episode (along with stupid stuff like the Scooby-Doo-esque scene with the Doctor and Rose chasing after the Hoix with that bucket, or whatever). Would've been absolutely spot on in something like the Sarah Jane adventures, obviously with the characters somehow added into it, but not in Doctor Who.
