I wouldn't mind an adventure with the 8th Doctor being made as a movie. We only saw him once so it'll be fair if we get to see more of him.
A lot of people dislike the 8th Doctor's movie, would he still be willing to do something like that? Just saying that if my name was synonymous with part of a shitty part of an otherwise great franchise, I'd be kind of skeptical about going back. Most people seemed to like him in the role though, so I dunno.
8th Doctor movie: "GRAAAAACE!"
I really enjoyed the 8th Doctor audio adventures though.
I didn't know he had done any. SO MUCH FOR BEING A DOCTOR WHO FAN, THROWING MYSELF INTO THE TIME STREAM NOW.
Yeah. McGann was good for the role, but where the role was wasn't good.
McGann is actually a very good Doctor, his audio books are amazing.
I fear that this, like the TV Movie, will be horribly Americanised and lose all of the charm that Doctor Who has on the small screen. From the past 3 attempts at movies, I think people need to learn that Doctor Who doesn't translate well to film.
Sounds like there COULD be a "Doctor Who Live" segment for Children in Need this Friday.

Not sure, I only remember the live performance at the proms. (excluding the Doctor Who Live stage show, obviously xD) Born Again, Time Crash, John Barrowman's sketch were all pre-recorded.

UPDATE: Sounds like they're now shooting something tomorrow. So not a live sketch :(
Don't know if Moffat's response to the "movie" has been posted yet..
"'Announcing my personal moonshot, starting from scratch. No money, no plan, no help from NASA. But I know where the moon is - I've seen it.'"
A prequel might be cool, but they'd need to retcon the shit out of it.

I mean, more retconning than usual.
Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen
During the Fourth Doctor era, future Doctor Who script editor Douglas Adams at one point prepared a submission for a Doctor Who film, Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen.[73]
Elements of Krikkitmen were used in the Key to Time story arc, for which Adams wrote a story, and Krikkitmen was reworked as the third Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book Life, the Universe and Everything.[73]

WHY WAS THIS NOT MADE

WHY WAS THIS NOT MADE

The third was my favourite HHG2G book, if that had been made that would've been fucking amazing.
Spontaneous update on my film:
We couldn't get permission to film underground unfortunately, so were searching out some abandoned buildings and forests of the like. Should be done around the Christmas holidays.
G-man will most likely be making an appearance in the background as well, friend has a steely blue suit and a leather briefcase. :quagmire:

Oh hey, Alex Kingston was on Craig Ferguson's show last night I think. I didn't watch much, but she mentioned it's going to be hard to find writers better than Davies and Moffat for the new movie, so it was probably recent.

doctor who meets chrono trigger
Want Lego Doctor Who game spanning the generations for 50th anniversary.
Don't want Doctor Who movie relaunch.

Let me explain myself. I'm not against Lynch. Great director. VERY good choice. Like the best choice possible.
I dislike how he wants it to be separate from the show itself. Not because that idea is LUDICRIOUS. But because that idea would confuse a lot of people. People watching at home will be wandering how it fits in, if it does fit in, it might be BETTER than the TV show. Make the TV show look cheaper. Or if it fails it'll bring the show down with it.
Other than Inbetweeners when has the TV - Big Screen leap ever been a success. I'm hugely sceptical. Will feel more at home if all the shows writers were on it with Matt in the bow tie. Make it his last story. DON'T make it separate.

If Doctor Who was off air- sure. If this was for 2013. Sure. But as it'll probably be 2014 and hopefully on air. Hmmm.

If it was David Lynch I'd be okay with it, it was good
he did Dune which was shit, but he did blue velvet which was quite good
originally I thought you meant David Fincher who did Fight Club. Yates is a good choice though.
