Poor Brits, getting Torchwood after us.
We get it a day after the Yanks.
Wait I just remembered.
"Time can be rewritten."
There's still hope! :D
Yes, Time can be Rewritten, but at what cost? I just hope that if and when the companions save the Doctor from his date with death, they end up damaging time somewhat, causing not only Time Cracks to emerge, but also causing the immune system of time itself to devour anything that could potentially harm the wounds further.
Y'know, i've kind of warmed to the idea of time being like a body, and interlopers in the timestreams are like bacteria, entering through the wounds to hitch a ride on the flow of time's blood. To avoid being too badly damaged by infections, time would need an immune system, be it some sort of natural inhabitant of inner time like the Hounds of Tindalos (extradimensional creatures that inhabit the "angles" of time in the Cthulhu Mythos), or an "our-time" (as opposed to "other-time") organisation founded by those who vow to keep time safe and healthy (like some kinda Time Agency or the early Time Lords).
Back to what I said earlier, the Doctor being saved from that fixed death should have the big consequences, damaging time and prompting it's immune system to fight off any potential infections as it tries to heal itself.
River being the doctors long term companion would work, shes part time lord she can Regenerate, she is the one person he could stay wth
Isn't she 100% timelord?
I thought she was mostly Time Lord, but not completely Time Lord. Or something like that.

How does one become "Mostly" timelord.
Or "part" timelord at all to begin with? :v:
[editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
WAIT SHIT, I FORGOT
River Song is Melody Pond. And she had timelord DNA.

I'm American. New to the series, though - recently started watching on Netflix.

Nah, she's mostly human with a hint of timelord DNA. If she was mostly Timelord the Doctor would've known.

Remember Father's Day? The reapers came in when Rose touched her past self. Writer was Paul Cornell though.
I just realised how good an actor this guy is. He played Baines in Family of Blood.

That's him in Game of Thrones.
He plays a dick in both roles I've seen him in. :v:
Yup. And Octavian (the army priest in Flesh and Stone and Time of the Angels) plays Ser Jorah Mormont. They're both fantastic actors.
Remember Father's Day? The reapers came in when Rose touched her past self. Writer was Paul Cornell though.
Aye, that's what I was thinking about. Perhaps the Reapers are the white blood cells of time's bloodstream? And if so, what are the red blood cells? (carrying packets of time energy around time's body)

Yep, which, according to Madame Vastra and the others when they were looking over their DNA, Kovarian and her team were attempting to accelerate, trying to make Melody MORE Time Lord or, at least, able to mutate to have similar physical/mental traits as a Time Lord. Not wholly Time Lord.
Also, the new film Tennant's in looks pretty hilarious:

News dump. Moffat contradicts the 2012 transmissions rumours:
Just when you thought the situation with Doctor Who in 2012 couldn’t get any more confusing, along comes this bit of news.
According to an attendee at this year’s Comic Con France, Steven Moffat was asked how many episodes will be shown in 2012 and he responded with: “Contrary to some rumours you may have heard, there will be the same number of episodes.”
Later adding that there will be a change in transmission. But not on the number of episodes.
If all 14 episodes did air in 2012, this goes against what we’ve heard from multiple sources now. So we’re not sure what to make of this. It’s very possible it could have been misinterpreted, but it’s hard to say, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
There were also another couple of interesting bits from Moffat:
On River Song: “You do not know anything yet”
Apparently there is a pay-off to Rory repeatedly dying.
There are very ambitious plans for the 50th anniversary.
The Doctor and Chekov in one film? Madness!
Shame it looks pretty bad.
News dump. Moffat contradicts the 2012 transmissions rumours:
Oh, sweet. Although what he could mean when he says "there will be the same number of episodes" could be that they're gonna follow the same structure as this series, and split it up again. The quote isn't very clear, really.
I am excite. I could see him airing it 90 minutes each week (Technically two episodes) like Sherlock.
Also, I'm pissed, I've lost the post about the Drunk Doctors, and I sorta needed it to finish off my drawing cycle of them. And I cba to look for it. Whoever finds it first, hell, I'll make them an avatar. I'm that lazy today.

I bet out of all the Doctors, the Tenth Doctor was the one who always got wasted and cried despite sitting in the bath ten minutes earlier laughing about a rubber duck.
[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
The Ninth Doctor gets really fucking mad when drunk
[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
The Eighth Doctor gets with some girl he forgets.

The Eleventh Doctor pretends to be wasted because he's the designated driver and doesn't want to miss out
Nah, I don't really want an avatar. Helping a fellow human being is thanks enough.

Hah, well that makes my life ten times easier. Thanks for that.
No problem.
I've been re-watching all of Torchwood and just saw an episode with Martha Jones being used a test subject for experimental (alien) medicine and they saw mutated cells because she traveled in time and space.
Confirms that your cells (maybe DNA) mutate if you travel in the TARDIS for a prolonged time.
Too bad Chris Ec's out.
Easy
"Something bad has already erased my First, Second, Third and Ninth Incarnations..."
Then to reinforce the threat have it erase 6 and 7 on-screen and that way you're left with 4,5,8,10,11. Which to be honest is the doctors people most want to see in a manageable amount. Then have one of them 'erased' to buy the others time. Make it the fourth doctor as Tom is old and can't do that running around forever, plus it makes him stand out for the younger viewers. 8 could get mortally wounded right at the end, and it can be implied he's about to regenerate.
Slowly erase each Doctor one by one until it's just 10 and 11 and they have a huge moral disagreement and argue about it. Then we got a perfect 10 VS 11 scenario.
Fini.
Season 6.
Where do I watch this.
