This has most likely been thought through, but anyways: River song is in jail because she killed a man, as quoted "A good man. Best man I've ever known." and, as father Octavian said: "A good man, a hero to many". The latest episode is called "A Good Man goes to War". Who would be the "good man", "a hero to many" and the best man River has ever known? It's either The Doctor or Rory. But then I look back at The Impossible Astronaut, and remember that girl in the suit. Some argue it's River. Potentially River DID kill The Doctor, as a child, and is therefor in jail. Because what other punishment can you give for the murderer of a hero, but a very long time in jail (even though she escapes oh so easily). Food for thought~
"I think there's potential to get a few Doctors back for an episode," adding that he and show-runner Steven Moffat had discussed the idea of having some of the living actors to have formerly played The Doctor come back for an episode in honor of the show's 50th anniversary.
http://www.undertheradarmag.com/news/comic-con_2011_day_one_recap_doctor_who_matt_smith_psych_game_of_thrones "Some" I'm fine with that. 4,10,11 are all we NEED. Everybody else is a bonus. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Then again 4,8,10,11 would make The Four Doctors which we haven't had before. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] But 5 has already been introduced so that would be nice... Eughhhhh! Which Doctors do you want? I think everybody deserves to be OFFERED a cameo

I think it'd be pretty cool to have Rose when she travelled with 9, but post-Rose 10 (When he was travelling by himself in the specials or something) to see the pain that 10 goes through, but Rose doesn't know what he's like.

Chris'll come back for the kids. Even if it's just a second.
Can't make the meetup guys, Cardiff is just too far away for me!
Billie Piper doesn't want to come back either. Chris'll come back for the kids. Even if it's just a second.
I'd love to see Tennant come back. I can imagine him going on a ranting spree about how Matt looks. It's like that comic someone posted before. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]

This one.
I imagine them all laughing and wearing fezzes by the end. Before a tearful "You won't remember any of this" goodbye. Tom Baker will say "I guess you're The Doctor. The definite article you might say!". One of the last scenes is Tennant back in his own time and TARDIS with no memory why he's wearing a Fez. Donna tell him it look stupid. :') And the 50th anniversary should have a scene to the theme tune. It's never happened.

Because if they remember then it makes it too easy to solve. Like Time Crash. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Knowing 8 he would try to find out how he regenerated and prevent it. And the 'I don't want to go' from Ten isn't a tearful plea for survival but an insult to his successor who he knows all about.
To be honest I think when you play the theme over scenes it doesn't really work... I could be wrong but imagining it now...
Chris'll come back for the kids. Even if it's just a second.
Should be like Wolverine's cameo in Xmen: First Class. Obviously without the swearing. Maybe have him just doing something else, like before he meets Rose, while he's in the middle of sorting out some other alien-related issue. I can imagine him rewiring something with smoke and fire around in some sort of futuristic corridor, before 10 and 11 come up behind him and say something like "Hello!" "Look, we need your help with someth-" "Go away." That'd be awesome.
I kinda fixed my sonic screwdriver today. See this hatch here? Well, it was loose as hell. So I used superglue to glue it shut. C:

We're never really told how the 8th Doctor regenerated - at least, not via film / TV, I'm not sure about the books / radio / audiobooks or whatever. I find it funny how Smith and Tennant's Doctors would probably hate each other, and they'd probably both hate Eccleston's Doctor :v:

[editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] Also, the Dream Lord is most likely my favorite bad guy. He's just so goddamn smug. Even if he only shows up once. Ever. And it's actually the Doctors dark side. "If you had any more tawdry quirks, you could open a tawdry quirk shop! The madcap vehicle, the cockamamie hair, the clothes designed by a first-year fashion student... I'm surprised you haven't got a little purple space dog, just to ram home what an intergalactic wag you are!"
Just realised, if something as bad as "Miracle Day" happened, surely the Doctor would be there to help? :v:

But The Doctor didn't show for that.
Just found out that Matt Smith offered to appear of Chameleon Circuit's `Still Got Legs`. :v: I'm fairly sure it would have been this song though [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline]
You could say the same for a group of junkie aliens wanting a large percentage of the planet's children and are willing to kill the entire human race for them.
The Dream Lord is most likely my favorite bad guy. He's just so goddamn smug. Even if he only shows up once. Ever. And it's actually the Doctors dark side.
Ah yes, a person's dark side, an intriguing concept. Y'know, slightly off-the-record, i've got ideas for a similar concept in a little something i've been working on. Basically it's a sort of malevolant spirit that latches onto one's subconcious, creating a Personal Demon that is the manifestation of one of a person's life's darkest moments, such as "Viral Sadako", the malevolant after-image of an intelligent psychic virus based on that girl from The Ring, or the "Bleeding Father", based on the time the father of one of the characters was forced into a bloody rage by malevolant forces, killing the character's mother when the character was just a young girl. If left unchecked and unrestrained, a Personal Demon could potentially overwhelm and corrupt the person's mind, remaking them in the demon's twisted image. However, the subconcious of said person is always fighting against the Personal Demon, as is a powerful "Guardian Angel", the manifestation of the character's best experiences and the one they admire the most, generated by a different type of spirit created to combat the latter "demon". Most of the time both the "Angels and Demons" are locked in conflict, which the Angel winning 2 times out of 3, but when an outside influence wears on the character's "Willpower", that is the strength and fortitude of their subconcious mind, said subconcious is weakened and the person's mind is vulnerable to outside influences, yet both the Guardian Angel and the Personal Demon are respectively weakened. However, the Personal Demon ends up maintaining more of it's power from the person's distress, allowing it to participate in twisting the person's mind. Only when the person's Willpower is at it's lowest are they able to actually go into their mind and help their Guardian Angel defeat the Personal Demon, and regain some of their mind's integrity. On the flipside, the Guardian Angel can also gain power from a mysterious force called "The Khul", unrelated to a woman's right to divorce under Islamic Sharia law. The Rule of Khul (yes, it's a mystified version of the Rule of Cool), the guiding force behind Khulness, dictates that whatever inspires amazement and inspiration in the minds can increase a person's Khulness, which not only enhances the power of a person's mystical abilities, but also does the Khul thing by actually increasing a person's Willpower as well as empowering their Guardian Angel. On top of this, when the Khul is at it's highest and the person needs that bit of extra help to fight the Crawling Chaos (a force in my storyverse that seeks to conquer or destroy all universes), they can actually weave their mystic energies with the massive Khul to bring their nigh-indestructible Guardian Angel into the real world for a short period of time, a powerful skill indeed but often taxing enough to drain most of the person's Astra (mystic power) and their Khul in the process. But let's get back on topic now. Dream Lord was pretty smooth for a malefactor, i'd imagine most personal demons would be somewhat savage and vicious, itching to tear him apart physically instead of just emotionally. Then again, the Doctor musta been pretty "sane" when the pollen generated the Dream Lord.

Just wondering, is it recommended to just randomly start on an episode? Should I start from the beginning of a particular season or will any do?
Best to start on the first episode of the 2005 series, that's where most of us started anyways.
Just realised, if something as bad as "Miracle Day" happened, surely the Doctor would be there to help? :v:
Nope, it's obviously a fixed event that he can't change so he has to let it run it's course. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] To be honest, Jack is just as important as all The Doctors. Torchwood is the most successful Doctor Who spin off in existence. To not have him in the anniversary would be wrong. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] I'd love to interview each and every Doctor. I'd have a lot of fun. Chris still remembers episode titles. Tom Baker didn't even know episode titles when he was ON the show let alone 6 years after. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] I still maintain if Steven said to Chris "Hey, we're using CGI to bring back the dead actors. Getting the rest back for brief cameos. Please do a few seconds for the show". Chris would do it.

Though Chris wasn't on for too long, he was an intergral leg-up for getting the show back on it's feet, a real help for the revival. Thanks to Chris, the show's still got legs.

Fun fact for you all: Tom Baker had no idea what titles were and he still doesn't. He doesn't even really know any of the stories. He claims he never read the script until the rehearsal and even then he only read his parts. He would drink throughout filming and abuse cast and crew. Tom Baker was such an arse hole.
