Hmm. Time to go put all those Creative Writing classes from Junior High to work and write a fanfic.
Is it just me or did I just read that in the Doctor's voice?
And now I read what I just typed in Amy's voice...
It's a shame I never really learned stuff like Creative Writing back in school, and being that i'm on a games design course at college I probably won't have the time. If only I didn't turn into a hikikimori (someone who withdraws from the rest of the world) for 2 and a half years, I probably would've learned lots of Literature stuff at secondary school... but then again I doubt Greenshaw would've done any Creative Writing, and whilst literature serves as inspiration, of which I have plenty, it's useless if I don't have the skills be a good writer!
Well, actually i've been working in secret on a sort of "storyverse" that combines the Lovecraft Mythos with magical fantasy, science fiction, parallel universes, time travel, and a whole lot of other things; kind of like Shadowrun meets HP Lovecraft in the early 20th century, with various factions of gods reawakening with the return of magic, except everything isn't as hopeless because magic is now everywhere and everybody is so damn powerful, even though the risk of losing one's sanity is always there despite the presence of magics that heal the mind, and the overwhelming power of awesomeness that is the Khul.
But even though i've been weaving tales within that "-verse", i'm not exactly a master of dialogue, despite my development of characters. Say, d'you think you could lend me some pointers in how to weave good dialogue in a story, maybe even share your wisdom that your Writing classes gave you?
We could all benefit, y'know...

You could've just said shut-in and saved at least a small measure of credibility.
Ech, you really don't like foreign words, do you? I'm not looking for a conflict of interests here, not like the last time.
This video is only 1.11 minutes long but when I looked on my clock 3 minutes had passed.
Anybody else feel that?

That post probably sounded angrier than intended. It's just that using foreign words is really only good when English doesn't quite cut it.

To be perfectly honest, all I learned was grammar and a few tips on how to make it flow. You can't really learn how to write, you develop a style all your own. I learned how to do fairly decent stories from reading the Halo books, as well as the classic sci-fi stories like 1984 and more modern stuff like World War Z.
You sorta find your own way. Read up a bit and try it out. If you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to help. Writing comes from what you think and feel, not what rules are outlined. Stick to that and you can never go wrong.
Unless you're writing some shitty vampire love story, then you can go horribly wrong.
So I go away for 2 days and spoilers are posted left right and center. Jeeesh!
Anyway, for Cardiff, what about we meet up at Cardiff Central by 10am and if someone's arriving later again at 1:30 pm or so? Any other ideas?
Also, it would be nice to have some identifying trait and/or pictures posted.
Iirc, some of you have participated in camp FP. How did you do it then?

For camp FP a few of us travelled up together from London and met everyone else at the campsite

You might want to check how many people will actually be there by 10am as it may be too early for those coming in from across the country

What're we gonna do anyway? And if it's 10am, I'm gonna show up late due to probable hangover.

Ok maybe 10 am is too early. Shall we make it 1:30 for everyone then?
You know what I think would be cool? If by a new companion in the next episode, it wasn't one that would travel with him from that episode onwards, it could be a future companion that he's yet to realise he travels with.
It'd be fairly reminiscent of River, but it'd be cool nevertheless.
Good Luck for anyone getting A-Level results today!

1:30 is convenient for people travelling from London, Swindon, etc.
I still don't know who's going yet. Jess isn't back till the 22nd/23rd and the only person I know is definitely going is grilira.

To meet up and explore Cardiff I guess. Jess and I are probably going now, I think Spog is too.
I might be going. Probably won't be able to in the end, but there's always a chance.
I wish I could be there but I can't afford a plane ticket.

He was probably the guy who was going to get cast for it, then Daniel Radcliffe turned up.

Two of them in the DW photo look very depressed. They've decided to just lie down and die.
That's probably why :v:
