I liked most of the RTD episodes. But in no way do they compare to the Moff. I mean, Moff wrote the Library episode, and in my opinion that's one of the best episodes ever.

Everything that Moffat has done has been good, whereas with Davies, although there are episodes like The Parting Of The Ways, Utopia and Midnight (to name a few), there are also episodes like Love and Monsters which make people like us question his writing ability.
Everything that Moffat has done has been good
debatable
debatable
I'm not saying that he is perfect, but what did he do that couldn't be called at least "good"?
I'm not saying that he is perfect, but what did he do that couldn't be called at least "good"?
The Big Bang was a bit of an asspull By that I mean that even though the rest of the episode was top-notch, the way the Doctor got out of the Pandorica was lazy writing.

That story just won Doctor Who a fifth Hugo award! Complaining about a show which has time travel using time travel doesn't make sense to me.

It's a predestination paradox. One of the coolest things about time travel and exactly the same thing used in Blink so brilliantly.
just got this message from someone on youtube: "Actually I think that the only actor who's Dr Who character died was David Peterson oh and Jon Pertwee. I could be wrong. The only Dr Who who didn't die was Patrick Troughton* who was banished to the Earth" "Dr Who character died was David Peterson oh and Jon Pertwee" "David Peterson" i loled

Between that and the earlier comment about RTD's writing, I think I'm severely dumber after today
Between that and the earlier comment about RTD's writing, I think I'm severely dumber after today
Thanks to my total Dr Who ignorance, I'm still as smart as ever, ;).
Complaining about a show which has time travel using time travel doesn't make sense to me.
I kinda see your point; it's like complaining that your coffee has too much coffee in it. But it's not the AMOUNT of time travel that matters; it's how the time travel is USED that truly makes a timeline. All the limitations on time travel, like the paradoxes and suchlike, ensure that you can't pull too much shit outta your ass when writing a time travel story. Cheap tricks work once in a while, but use them too much and they become old hat, like the "Klempari defence".

It's literally no different to how the Doctor resolved the Rise of the Cybermen cliffhanger. "oh fuck I'm in a tight situation, I'll just whip out this tardis mcguffin and save the day" "oh fuck I'm in a tight situation, I'll just whip out this timey wimey plot device that I don't actually fucking have yet and save the day". It's unengaging and unimaginative. The Doctor may as well have just walked out of the Pandorica.
The fact that the Doctor could open it with his own tool was laughable as well.

Also, the paradoxes were used later on in the story.
The fact that the Doctor could open it with his own tool was laughable as well.
I won't argue with that. Oh and damn you two for having the same avatar.
I belive the opening the Pandorica with the sonic was because it hadn't completely sealed yet, so the sonic could open it easily. I'd imagine it takes a long time to completely seal, just as it took a long time to open.

I remember vividly the week preceding The Big Bang and all the speculation as to how he would get out. Then it happened and was just "lol timey wimey saves the day"

It was totally entropic, they're at the edge of despair, and it's got really dark and "ohshit", and *flash of light* Doctor appears in a Fez and a mop and Rory craps himself. Brilliant!
Look what nugget of stupidity I found on the Doctor Who facebook page. I'm transcribing from an image. Well considering half the facebook page desperately wants DT to come back, I'll take this with a grain of salt.
The Facebook page makes me mad. *Picture of Matt Smith* Comments: "Awesome" "Bow ties are cool" *THREE LIKES* "David Tennant" *TEN LIKES*
I liked the timey-wimey escape they used at the end of Series 5, it's way better than anything RTD could've thought up. For me, it was fresh and interesting. Of course, if they start overusing it, I'll be pretty let down.
Any plot device which is overused becomes a bore. The good thing about Moffat so far is that he uses similar (if not the same) paradoxes but in new ways, which keep the story fresh. Okay guys, going to bed because my flight's at ungodly hour. See you all on Wednesday. I'll be the Portuguese guy wearing a red polo and (possibly) eating an over priced sandwich.

I'd also like to clarify I still love the Big Bang as a whole, just not the beginning. Let's kill Hitler spoilers if you didn't already know:- [sp] 1. There's a new traveller aboard the TARDIS. 2. "You don't know about the Doctor, 'cos you're stupid." 3. Our Time Lord hero's snazzy new coat makes its debut in this episode. 4. "That's what you said when we made Rasputin *****." 5. Top hats are cool. 6. "You will experience a tingling sensation and then death." 7. Bananas are still good. 8. "Take off your clothes!" 9. River's romantic past with The Doctor is (sort of) explored. 10. "You shot my TARDIS!" [/sp]
