i just wish there was anywhere flat near me so i could learn to ride it properly
I plan on using mine for transportation, so turning is key, i live in a flat area. so i plan on using a land paddle, my budget is under >80 but its my first longboard so :v:
Any suggestions?

anyways it's got awesome reviews
That is true as shown through Abec 11 wheels. As I said, can't comment on quality but I can comment on boards sold in board shops and not on amazon.
I've been longboarding for over a year now which is good and all, but lately I've been feeling a bit depressed and that doesn't go well when going down steep hills.
There's this one hill I skate down a lot when going to work, and I must hit 30-40 km/s on it, like I am going really fast. I never wear a helmet so I always think if I hit a rock and fell, or a car hit me, I would definitely die or at least fuck up my life some how. I get a huge adrenaline rush from it but I always wonder if I should just fuck up on purpose.
My dad long boards a lot; it's actually really fun (until you fall off)
Going to practice some sliding in Central Park this weekend on my Robot, anybody have any tips? I've never been quite able to master slides. Particularly Coleman.

Don't use a hand on the board. I find it way easier to do colemans without my hand on the rail. For toeside predrifts I like a hand but I'm working on getting comfy without it.

dumb idea. you'll likely survive, just get crippled, which I assume would further your depression...

solution: wear a helmet
I feel better now, I made a new friend who I'm going ice skating with tomorrow night <3. Emo stage is over. It was weird.
I know I should wear a helmet, but I've been going down steep hills for so long now (and my board is pretty stable, 46 inches long) and it just all feels so natural to me like walking or riding a bike casually around the street, which I also don't wear a helmet for. I definitely should wear one though.

Yeah thats what everyone thinks including myself till you make that one fatal mistake and end up with a head injury. So glad mine was only a concussion, i couldn't skate for two weeks. It was terrible, shit I'm buying a fullface helmet now since I've been pushing my speeds and slides so much and when I leave for college next year in mountains I'm gonna need that extra protection.
Finally had a friend cut out my board. Sanded everything down and got it all fitted. Randall trucks are a bitch to mount if youre going for a drop-through. I spent a good hour filing the area down.
Hopefully tomorrow or on the weekend I can countersink the trucks, stain/finish the board, and finalize the design of my grip tape.
I'll post pics soon.

That is pretty dope if i say so my self. Nice montage not boring. Keep 'em coming!
Woke up early this morning to get some stain on. Managed to get two coats and a poly coat.
Im considering another coat of poly just to be sure so I might finish it today or tommorow.

Rayne have some good boards, i like top mount boards though.
Look up the comet d2, Sector 9 lacey or Longboard Larry seacalf.
I can't wait for the new wolfshark too come out!
at least hippies are doing something to get exercise these days
These are everywhere on campus. I had almost never ever seen them before college, and now I see 6 every day. Must be a good way of getting around that's not a bike.

Agree, depending on your style you can get a good workout.
On another note. I decided that I hate people who "accidentally" kickup rocks onto the sidewalk. If it weren't for the slightly larger, softer wheels that I had i would be in a world full of hurt about now.
at least hippies are doing something to get exercise these days
try it before you just generalize it
Quick question on a scale of 1-10 how time consuming and fun would you guys say longboarding is? Cause I'm sorta low on money and was wondering if this was a good recreational investment
