I just wouldn't trust myself to ride when I'm high, but if you can do it go for it.
I learned high, and I fell in love with it high.
yeah definitely, theres a fine line between being safely high and 'oh god why am i on the ground and why is there blood everywhere' baked
I guess I'll give it a shot next time I'm feeling like not getting really baked (ie:never).

has anyone else found themselves checking out hills when traveling? i was in a scarcely populated area visiting family and i saw some perfect hills that receive little to no traffic.
has anyone else found themselves checking out hills when traveling? i was in a scarcely populated area visiting family and i saw some perfect hills that receive little to no traffic.
Same, sadly, I almost never go back to visit such perfect hills.
Does anyone here ride Penny's ? Pretty fun and plan on getting one in a couple of weeks except the "Nickel" ver. because of my big ass feet (size 13). Anyways they are either 22' or 27' depending on which you get. Nice crusing and small bombing . Good beach board /point a to point b kinda board that's a real chill ride. Oh yeah and its made of plastic like old school boards. I've an old Cal 240 from the mid 70's. Shit's slow and unstable, but pretty fun.
is it just me or do all videos from Vimeo automatically start playing when you load the page?
God riding in >45 weather is such shit on your face, so much wind rash. So glad I had my fullface for at least half of it, I just can't justify freeriding in it because if I fall with it I'd be so pissed.
is it just me or do all videos from Vimeo automatically start playing when you load the page?
no, they didnt start playing for me. just you.
too bad it's been cold out recently. a friend who has a car just got a longboard so i foresee some good times.
Is this implying sketching?
nah but going places that are impossible to get besides car
Mountain runs!
east coast runs are amazing. Now I just need to get to these runs.
What would be some good wheels for half freestyle half freeride use?
You could use just about any wheel for freestyle, so just pick some nice freeride wheel. I recommend Retro Freerides, Metro Motion, Cult Classics, Zombie Hawgs, S9 round lipped wheels, or Slide B's.
What would be some good wheels for half freestyle half freeride use?
ABEC 11 Flashbacks 81a. They're like $33 on longboardskater.com and a super popular wheel that has held up to the test of time. Fucking love abec 11 classic thane. Plus no other 70mm wheel can beat its price.
I'm looking into buying my first longboard and I'm just wondering if there is anything I should know. Most of what I know is advice from my friend who told me a 40' board with 70mm 75a wheels would be great for a beginner like me. (Cruising and hill bombing once I get the hang of it.) Anything else I should know before I make a purchase? I'll be spending around 200 CAN and plan on asking the people working at the skate shop for any advice as well.
I hate to re-quote my own post but I plan on buying one today and didn't get an answer.
I hate to re-quote my own post but I plan on buying one today and didn't get an answer.
http://www.switchbacklongboards.com/shop/longboards.php Pick a deck you like. Get some 50 degree trucks from caliber. Get some Abec 11 Zigzags in 78a or 81a. Both are amazing duros.

I'm pretty happy with it so far [editline]31st December 2011[/editline] The skate shop I was at didn't carry Caliber trucks so I stuck with the gullwings that came with the board
