I wouldn't say this is really a carving machine though, my friend has one and it only really opens up when you start going fast. Maybe this? http://longboardskater.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LS&Product_Code=EWSG4C2&Category_Code=E9 your the one who doesn't have a lot of hills right? This deck would make a really fun cruiser and it can be slid if you ever want to get into that. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline]
I rather scooter.
I have a lot of friends who don't feel like dropping $200 on a longboard so instead they scooter down hills with me. Its pretty funny actually and they can haul ass on those things but if they start wobbling shit gets serious. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline] I still really want a party deck like the thruster or crewzer. I just can't decide which one would be more fun.
do you guys actually take your bearings apart or just wipe down the outside? back when i used to skate I actually popped off the fronts. [editline]18th January 2012[/editline] people longboard through the tunnels at uni here, it's pretty annoying considering there's barely enough room for people to walk through them.
I take the shields off, put them in a bottle of cleaner and shake the shit out of it. Then I let it soak. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline]
I rather scooter.
Just don't take it to a skate park and I don't care.

Well yeah, but that's assuming anybody who rides a scooter at a park can do that stuff :v: EDIT: Related; one of my friends put scooter wheels on his skateboard. Their supposedly crazy death slidey.
can anyone recommend slide gloves that are in the 50-60 range that have finger pucks?
You don't need finger pucks, dragging your fingers causes extra friction. That aside, make your own, or go with Sector 9 BHNC gloves or Holesom gloves.
can anyone recommend slide gloves that are in the 50-60 range that have finger pucks?
Darkspeed & Timeship gloves are the best in my opinion. Support some skaters like James Kelly or Kody Noble and get their signature gloves from timeship. Trust me you don't need the finger pucks, they don't help at all and are cumbersome.
that's half retarded. can you even be a pro scooterer though? Seems silly.
If your sponsored by a major manufacturer of something your usually deemed a pro.
can anyone recommend slide gloves that are in the 50-60 range that have finger pucks?
You could always ghetto mod a pair of gardening gloves and cutting board together. My friend suggested them to me. Seems a bit weird but it still works.
That's my friends Brother. That is really weird.
thats really odd. like really odd. Just ordered the grease shark, can't wait for it to come.
Going to reshape my old pinner tomorrow. Twas my first board...
Talked to the friend who I made our longboards with, we decided that we are going to fiberglass our boards. Problem is that I will have a 1-2 week downtime so I'm considering turning and old skateboard into a schlongboard(not sure if this is how it's pronounced). Any thoughts? I pretty much am mounting my trucks at the very tip of the board and re-gripping it. Also, I wish I could get sliding down or some other way of slowing down since foot breaking has been making me go through shoes like crazy.
You already have longboards? Why make schlongboards?
You already have longboards? Why make schlongboards?
Something to do in our downtime while we fiberglass the boards.
Just ordered the grease shark, can't wait for it to come.
Stoked for you man. SHRED THE GNAR! Or do what I did and put some risers on it and get some 60mm plush wheels for it and you have a fun street deck that is one smooth ride. Pimp out that street deck and don't schlong it. [editline]20th January 2012[/editline] http://www.sk8trip.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=S&Product_Code=NS60Set&Category_Code=W_abec11 I'd try these in 78a. If I had the money I'd get some Indeesz (or indys with nice bushings) and setup a sick ass street deck for fucking around town. Which is basically why I want a crewzer so bad. [editline]20th January 2012[/editline] fuck now i need to build a dope street deck
I would, but it's just a shitty wal-mart board and I'd rather not put out any more money.
I would, but it's just a shitty wal-mart board and I'd rather not put out any more money.
schlong that shit than! If anything make some angled risers with wood so it doesn't have insane angle. Try to get it close to 35 degrees. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] or higher if you can
So, I have 215 dollars, and I was about to buy this board http://longboardskater.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LS&Product_Code=EWSG4C2&Category_Code=E9 but it doesn't look bidirectional, and I would really prefer a bidirectional board [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] unless of course this is the best board i can get for super flat ground on rough concrete streets that i can also carve well on
why do you necessarily need a bidirectional board?
for shuvits [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] which is one of the few things i could do and could do well on my skateboard
are you looking for something with double kicktails? earthwing has some great boards that are practically street decks in ~40" length.
i dont really want kicktails actually because i dont think you need them for shuvits and i'm never going to try to do any complicated tricks on them (actually im not sure what other tricks there are)
So I went skating today because ice storm. I overlooked the inability to push...
i dont really want kicktails actually because i dont think you need them for shuvits and i'm never going to try to do any complicated tricks on them (actually im not sure what other tricks there are)
try to keep in mind that many longboarders don't do flip tricks. usually dancers/flatground riders do shuvits. it all depends what kind of discipline you want to get into.
