Facepunch Avatar Rules Are Too Lenient (and it's being dealt with- page 4) - General

I like to see avatars because it gives me a good indication of what someone likes, most of the time. Plus some have been cropped from really nice artwork too.

A lot of this thread has kind of been exactly that, even to people who don't have NSFW avatars.

Some years ago when I browsed Facepunch, there were avatars that were MUCH worse. Full frontal nudity. I remember one avatar was just a chick's shirt getting ripped off and revealing her boobs. If this is Facepunch in a low moment I wonder what those moments were considered like. Also I agree, NSFW avatars are annoying. I don't care if its real tits, fuzzy tits, or cartoon tits, I'd rather not see it. Telling us to turn off avatars is dumb because I use avatars to recognize most users, like ROFLBURGER up there. I know his avatar well and I see it often, but I often forget his name, because my memory is very bad.

That still implies it was originally NSFW, and just because its cropped it doesn't matter. You've changed your avatar so it doesn't matter anymore (though you cropped it in a somewhat suggestive way, and I'd still assume it was sexual if I hadn't seen the full image).

I have nothing against these people, but there's lots of people who feel uncomfortable browsing facepunch amongst other people if a poster has an avatar of a dog getting hosed in semen.
