Yeah me to. Then some kids call their own bland music hardcore and it sounds like pure garbage. Sometimes I get the chance to show them some real good music and such but they're ignorant and simply not interested.
I hate when people claim that some generic hardcore metal punk bands are the heaviest and best in the world. Seriously the metal scene is flooded with crap and the real musicians are struggling. Don't get me started on Slipknot. Hail the Wizard
I pray to the Wizard on a daily basis.
Yeah. It's also a pet peeve of mine when people call posthardcore/metalcore screamo. Fucking annoys me and I don't usually care too much about genres but it's just SO WRONG.
I hate it when people call baroque classical. Just kidding, I'm mature and realize that not everyone is going to know the difference, and I know what they meant, so I get over it.
generally i dont care, it's just that. i don't really know why. I don't go out of my way to do something about it but it just annoys me when people say it a bit.
I don't really care when people call post-hardcore screamo because the original screamo is sort of a dead genre anyways What I really hate is when people call literally ANYTHING with screams screamo, like Thrash and Death Metal
I hate Steve Vai, Batio, Yngwie and all of those god damn idiots who think playing a thousand notes a minute is cool. Their music is boring and has no groove. Hail the Wizard

Hail the Wizard
Vai is way too full of himself and I only really like some of his songs. Batio seems like a cool guy but I really cannot stand any of his music. They're all boring and mindless. Fast as all hell, but it's basically just sodomizing a scale with a grinding wheel. Malmsteen on the other hand, I genuinely like. Definitely the neoclassical sound he has, because he really stands out from the other "LOL I KAN SHRED" virtuosos...but he is a massive prick.

The song above is terrible.
I only approve of one shredder and that's this guy. Groovy and rapes lydian. :allears:
Buckethead is also pretty decent, I like his music a lot. His stuff has a lot of variety and fits to every occasion. To one album you can headbang to no end, another one makes you feel like a fucking champ. Some are actually good when you're with a girl chilling or something. It's great.
I think that Vai's stage show gives the impression that he's really full of himself. That's just him trying to put on a good show. In most all interviews I've seen with him he really tries hard not to act egotistical. I can say that his music has a lot of substance to it. I've had a hard time getting into Satch. Vai isn't a bad person, but have you ever seen/heard some of the G3 performances with Vai in them? He's always the one who has to try to one-up the Satch and the third performer.

That's a common part of these kind of performances, a person plays a passage and the next person playing pretty much the same thing but changing it to their style and changing it a bit. I've seen a lot of G3 videos and I really don't know what you're talking about because they all seem to be having a friendly competition. There's probably a good chance I need to listen to some more Satch. The first listen through his first album I didn't find much of it to be too interesting. A lot of times it takes me a few listens of an album to get into it.

Also I know it's friendly competition but Vai always seems to be the one to change it the most.
This thread needs moar Jason Becker dammit To contribute. Some of Vai's stuff is great, he's an amazing player but some of it leaves me cold. Satch is pretty consistently good but not mindblowing from what I've heard. Malmsteen has two good albums and the rest make we want to floss myself with barbed wire (actually not fair, but he is definitely a one trick pony). Buckethead's awesome, but I find it difficult to get into his stuff because there's so fucking much of it :byodood: Becker hits the balance for me because it's that brand of neoclassical shred in it, but with enough melodic breaks that I don't feel like every song wants to take my head. And he has a relatively small body of work so the things he does arguably don't get too hackneyed
Syu is the best in neoclassical. takes a ton of influence from malmsteen, vai, satriani and petrucci and the guy can play with feeling AND mindblowing speed
Haha Syu! If there's one thing all the Japanese players have in common, it's that they always try to be as technical as possible. :D He's nice, but no Yngwie. --- Also, while we're on the subject.. Do you shred haters also think this has no "feeling"? 1:56 Or the beginning of this? They're also just playing around fast with a scale using regular patterns. Typical Yngwie shit right there. Or take a random harpsichord piece! There's literally no room for personal touch to those, since you can't control pitch nor velocity. No feeling my ass.
Hardcore Buckethead fans can be very annoying because they never stop talking about the emotion in the songs.
Well, it's true. Although I'm not such an hardcore fan but still the emotion is pretty tense. The albums Electric Tears and Diamond in a Rough are pretty rad.
House music is inferior to almost all other forms of electronica, anyone don't think so? They're literally "gay" techno anthems not to mention it's been pretty unprogressive for the last 20 years when you compare it to other genres.
House music is inferior to almost all other forms of electronica, anyone don't think so? They're literally "gay" techno anthems.
Lots of people seem to like it..
Lots of people seem to like it..
Yeah Techno-Bros and people who don't know better it seems.
Dubstep. Dubstep. I was introduced to this only a few months ago and I'm already tired of hearing it. dubstep is what happens when gay robots fuck each other up the ass thats what you hear when you listen to dubstep
I fucking hate Screamo so much goddammit. Fucking screaming isn't singing you fucking idiots.
