naw I just google image searched "metal band". I didn't pick anything out intentionally.
So you got the most common/advertised results. Congratulations.
you know most of those bands are famous and look like that because they're posers or sellouts, yeah?

try-harder, do you have any more excuses up your belt? You can click through the next 10 pages and they'll all look the same.

So if a musician or a group of musicians achieve "fame" they become posers/sellouts?
The duet version of "A Tout Le Monde" (from United Abominations) is quite possibly the stupidest thing David Mustaine has ever done. I didn't really like his early stuff, but that can be justified as "he was still learning, still figuring out how to write songs", but the original A Tout Le Monde is one of my favorite metal songs, and he fucking ruined it. It's a song about a lonely, sad suicide - making it a duet and speeding it up makes it WORSE, not better. I can't imagine how anyone sane could think that was a good idea.
Of course, judging by Endgame, Mr. Mustaine IS crazy, so maybe that's his excuse.

You really don't get how much of an arrogant jackass you are, do you?
Most genres have a look attached to them. The majority of electronic producers look like a bunch of hipsters, glam rock wore all sequins and sparkles, blues, jazz, etc dress up smartly in suits, I could go on for ages. Metal is NOT the only genre that has a look to it.
You really don't get how much of an arrogant jackass you are, do you?
well a level of arrogance is bound to come up if the other person is in complete denial. So we all can agree that metal is a try-hard genre? Besides I'm not the one calling names.

Sure theres always extremes, I'm just brining up my observation that almost all metal is like that.
and anyway you don't need to look 'metal' to be in a metal band. James Hetfield, Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford all have short hair and dress normally when they're up there fronting 3 of the biggest metal bands in history.
when I become popular for my music I'll make sure to appear naked everywhere so I won't be seen as trying too hard

What am I in denial of?
You're an ass and that's that.
although to be honest I'm not going to deny that metal seems to have the long hair thing attached more than most other genres. Then again it's not like they really need to 'try' to keep it anyway. You just visit the hairdressers less :v:

o god so much ninja
having long hair is a pain in the ass and anyone who says otherwise is lying

Using the looks of bands where most of them are sellouts or posers does not justify being 'try-hard'. I've yet to see a single proper point on that front.
Sure theres always extremes, I'm just brining up my observation that almost all metal is like that.
Look harder. Seriously for all you say about being an impartial onlooker and acting all high and mighty, it's you that's wantonly attacking a genre for no reason, it's you that's SAYING you've researched bands, and yet you wonder after all the stupid baseless inflammatory posts that you've made why we don't trust you to shower without drowning much less research anything you say to any degree
having long hair is a pain in the ass and anyone who says otherwise is lying
It can be difficult to maintain yeah.

You're expecting far too much. This is the same person who refuses to accept personal preference in music, and someone who basically ignored the point of stringed instruments having natural vibrato so he could claim that keyboards are "infinitely greater," without exception.
having long hair is a pain in the ass and anyone who says otherwise is lying
You've never had long hair, have you? It's not a pain in the ass when you get used to it.
my hair is past my belt
I don't usually discuss things I have no experience with
besides how would I know what it was like if I never had long hair

or it's simply the staple of metal. Just face it, thats what it is. If you took away the biggest try-hard elements of metal, it would probably just turn into hard-rock. Anyways if its so easy why don't you guys bring up 10 metal bands that arent complete try hards and aren't completely obscure at the same time.
you can't.
aside from all the music yeah sure

If you feel it's a pain in the ass, just cut it off. I wouldn't have long hair if it was a pain in the ass.

Honestly what do you want? You've posted like 3 bands who wear a definitive image on stage, the rest have been t shirt and jeans. I genuinely don't know what denoted an "image" to you.

Try hards
Daft Punk are hardly try-hards, they haven't released a fucking decent song in ages and they still have millions of worshipers. Nowadays they just put on a pair of helmets, remix their old songs which sampled even older songs, and then make millions.
I did.
Post metal bands that aren't complete try-hards. do it.
gimme your definition of tryhard and I'll see what I can do
Just because a band is famous doesn't make them good you fuck tard. I don't care how many people like it that just shows how stupid everyone is.
