I found a Dutch guide on how to remove paint from Warhammer miniatures. Thanks for the help noise_maker.
Anytime. So what armies does everyone have/play? :v:
I played warhammer 40k for a few years. I don't remember points but I had like 700$ in space marines. and like I was starting this huge 600$ Tau army, but the place where we played at closed down :/
I have a rather tiny (500 pt) Blood Angels army. I've been thinking about doing Fantasy but something doesn't appeal to me, even though I am a huge fantasy nerd.
I collect Spacemarines, Imperial Gaurd, Tau (not anymore) and Grey Knights. Personally, I like the look of the Grey Knights the best.
Grey Knights are OK.
Anyone else played the Games Workshop challenge before?
Nope
We need more people here. Also, in honour of the Warhammer section that died we should call it the The Games Workshop thread - Devlan 'FUCK YEAH' Mud Edition. Or something of the like.

RayvenQ, why you never post? I'm almost spamming this thread in the hope of sparking some kind of good conversation. And a conversation about WH isn't a good one until RayvenQ is here.
RayvenQ posts in General Gaming section thread.
I use to collect imperal guard and space marines dark Templars. Back in the good old days...
New avatar is better.
What no love for me? :saddowns: hah, kidding, however, we definitely could use some more people in this thread.
:glomp: Problem is, the WH40K general games discussion includes the actual PC games, and I don't really care for those. That's why I hang here.
If you can afford the tabletop, you can afford the PC games.
It's not a question of being able to afford it, it's a question of liking it.
Played warhammer 40k for a while, invested in a dark angels army, probably around 1100 points. I unfortunately fell under the trap of buying too many models at once, and lost my motivation for painting them around halfway through. I also played Lord Of The Rings as well, Minas Tirith army. Good times fucking orcs up with a Faramir Rangers/Minas Tirith squadron in Osgiliath. Unfortunately because of the price hikes I don't think I'll be going back into it. Still I love the lore and the story of 40k, has any new information come up about the war so far?
It's not a question of being able to afford it, it's a question of liking it.
I found the original Dawn of War games to be pretty fun. It kinda brought me into the realm of 40K. I try to collect Space Marines and play whenever I feel like it. I mostly just like constructing random army lists and building and painting the models. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] Also, are we discussing the books here too?
Sure [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] To start, what is the best book to start with?
Sure [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] To start, what is the best book to start with?
I personally started with the Gaunt's Ghosts series. Dan Abnett is a godamn mastermind at writing 40k
How much do you guys water down paint and do you do it directly into the pot?
How much do you guys water down paint and do you do it directly into the pot?
Depends on the paint color in question. Personally I find golds/bronze, reds, greens, yellows and oranges to be much more watery, and could be used right out of the pot (though will still require multiple layers, with either white or black primer/base-coat). However, I find that blues, purples, silvers, and browns could stand just a little bit of water, nothing more than a drop. You should always be trying to keep the paint smooth as possible ( not even paint strokes should be present) This is of course if your not using foundation paints that is. In which case, a drop is still enough

So it's just a matter of putting on Blood Red a couple of times to remove the brush strokes?
+1 to that mate. Anybody here have any experience with the Blood Ravens omnibus or Rynn's World?
Ive read the novels for DOW 1 and 2, although I still haven't finished the second book. My favourite book series though is the Spacewolves bunch. Makes most combat ive read pale in comparison.
Who here liked the Ultramarines movie? I can, without shame, say I actually liked it. As cheesy as almost all of it is, the desert battle was great.
I thought it was a bit meh. I think they rushed it a little. I wouldn't mind waiting for a decent animation. I would liked to have seen something as simple as reloading or the multi-melta firing or something just because it would have enhanced the movie a little bit. All in all, a decent attempt, but please try again.

If not, try watering it down and doing it in many thin layers. If those both don't work. get a new brush.
I started off with Necrons, then got some Orks (at my other house, parents are divorced) and then decided to do a little bit of Necrons again. God-damn, they are fiddly.
