im genuinely interested in how anyone could find sicario boring, i was on the edge of my seat the whole time no dumb out of place music, eerie and suspenseful the entire time and built up to an amazing finale. was such a great movie that is so refreshing in so many ways
I guess it just wasn't my kind of movie, I suppose. I was really hype for it from the trailers, but watching it in theatre, I just kept feeling like there had to be more to it. I found a lot of scenes boring, but I will admit there were some scenes that were fucking amazing (the night-raid on the underground tunnels with the IR Goggles). [editline]30th December 2015[/editline] I think my biggest mistake was going in expecting something completely different. I thought it was going to be non-stop action, but a lot of it wasn't.
yeah, i guess expectations can have a big influence on going to see movies (which is why you shouldn't take trailers seriously, ever. look at drive) [editline]d[/editline]
I saw Enemy not so long ago, liked it too I liked the suspense in Prisoners I guess Well maybe movies more like Sicario, I love this theme when cops/soldiers are on some mission, and despite being better armed than whoever they try to go after/fight, they are constantly threatened and scared shitless because they're at the enemy's home so you feel like something bad is going to happen to them at any point Bonus points if corruption and betrayal is in
The Beast (1988) is literally the primest example of what you're looking for. it's a great cult movie that's well worth seeing. damn i might watch it tonight, haven't seen it since i was like 14 [editline]d[/editline] also Platoon

the trailer fooled me :(
I was really hype for it from the trailers
all trailers are shit
yeah but I really enjoyed Prisoners and I remember watching the trailer and thinking "damn it's the same director, I'll love it just as much as I loved Prisoners"
the trailer fooled me :(
thats because theyre all shit, noone gets it :ohno:
Sicario had some beautiful shots, though. really amazing scenes, especially those twilight desert scenes
yeah but I really enjoyed Prisoners and I remember watching the trailer and thinking "damn it's the same director, I'll love it just as much as I loved Prisoners"
judging from poster it seems more like "traffic". but a lot of posters are shit too.
im waiting to buy the bluray to see sicario but apparently my man roger deacons did amazing night-time work on that movie
yall are missin out not seeing sicario in theaters
yall are missin out not seeing sicario in theaters
I'm so glad I did since it was pretty close to when they were closing viewings. Thanks Rusty :v:
yall are missin out not seeing sicario in theaters
seeing it in a B theater was even better
I just noticed we're the 31st, here we go; what were your favorite films this year? Which one was the best? Ex Machina? Sicario? Inside Out? Mad Max Fury Road? Pixels? [sp]jk[/sp]
Ex Machina, awesome movie Inside Out was alright up until nothing can go wrong and it became an obvious kids-movie. It was cute and all but then the second half went straight from being an adult-kid hybrid to straight up kid tier shit. [editline]31st December 2015[/editline] and super unpopular opinion, I really didn't like Mad Max. I think I am broken.
and super unpopular opinion, I really didn't like Mad Max. I think I am broken.
you aren't alone on that one bud i personally thought it was pretty good but i don't get all the 10/10s
if we're talking about movies that i've seen in 2015, it's whiplash. hands down if we're talking about movies that have come out in 2015, it's mad max
Seeing Mad Max in Imax was one of my favorite experiences of the whole year.
is Appaloosa any good? starting right now, i remember watching this a long time ago but i cannot for the life of me remember a single thing about this film
if we're talking about movies that i've seen in 2015, it's whiplash. hands down if we're talking about movies that have come out in 2015, it's mad max
jfc Whiplash, I completely forgot about that. genuinely had me an emotional wreck by the end of the film, just because of how poignant it was. rollercoaster of a movie
as someone who has yet to watch mad max or sicario, ex machina was my favorite 2015 film i know its not super innovative and its got its fair share of flaws but that doesnt stop me loving it
Also, categories because it's cool. Best action film: Mad Max Fury Road? Spectre? Jurrasic World? Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation? The Hateful Eight? Best comedy: Inside Out? The Man from U.N.C.L.E.? Best historical drama: The Walk? Bridge of Spies? Brooklyn? The Revenant? Best science-fiction (high budget): The Martian? Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Best science-fiction (low budget): Ex Machina? The Lobster? Best Marvel film: Ant-Man? Avengers 2: Age of Ultron? Best drama: Room? Spotlight? The Big Short? Creed? Sorry for choosing titles at random, I looked up 2015 releases quickly on IMDB.
best scene of any fucking movie. ever.
Best Marvel film: Ant-Man? Avengers 2: Age of Ultron?.
weren't those the only marvel movies to come out this year marvel gets NOTHING
don't care much about top tens, I prefer just saying which are my favorite of the year in no specific order: ex machina, fury road, rogue nation, sicario, everest, the force awakens, bone tomahawk, mr holmes, bridge of spies
How was Sicario good? I watched it in cinemas and it was so fucking dull. Long scenes of nothing happening isn't "suspense". The only bit that had any suspense was the first few beginning scenes, the rest of the movie dragged on and (imo) sucked dick. Genuinely fought falling asleep during the 2nd half of it.
whoa get a load of this post [editline]31st December 2015[/editline] its the wrongest post in the entire threads history so far
A movie from 2015 I feel didn't get enough attention was The Voices. It's so unique and well executed, it deserves more.
whoa get a load of this post [editline]31st December 2015[/editline] its the wrongest post in the entire threads history so far
honestly, it's more wrong than you telling us lord of the rings is bad because it's fantasy.
I'm holding off all opinions on best film of 2015 until I get to see Carol
im watching hateful eight tonight so im guessing itll be up there
