better question is how does AHS qualify as either of those?
jennifer lawrence is considered a bad actress? she's awful in the hunger games (fuck that movie entirely), but she's pretty good in other movies. maybe not award-worthy, but she's still good.
jennifer lawrence is garbage
all she does is ride off of the hunger games fandomwave
the only movie of hers that's remotely decent (and good I must admit) is silver linings playbook, and she got carried hard by bradley cooper
honestly the only reason she's managed to stay relevant is because of the fappening
I was thinking of Silver Linings when I said she was a good actress. I don't think she got carried hard by Cooper, they have genuine chemistry on screen and they work well together. I didn't get the feeling that he was carrying her.
She was alright in American Hustle as well. Like I said, she's not award-worthy but that doesn't mean she's a shit actress.

maybe she has promise once the hunger games dies down so we'll see
at least shes better than blake lively
after the first 3 minutes of savages, watching the town, I told my girlfriend that I would watch age of adaline with her to give blake lively one last chance and being a serious actress and she totally blew it. never watching another film with blake lively in it again, even my girlfriend thought she was awful. she needs to just stop being an actress and be a stripper instead

eh it wasn't SO BAD imo but it wasn't anything groundbreaking
as someone who was in and out of mental wards when I was in high school Silver Linings Playbook can go fuck itself
David O. Russell needs his filmmaking license taken away from him
as someone who's fairly mentally stable and hasn't been in and out of mental wards when he was in high school, SLP wasn't that bad I suppose
care to elaborate?

yeah I feel like if she stops casting herself in shitty movies, she'd do a decent job of acting. You can't really criticise an actors skill when they're cast in a shit-fest movie like The Hunger Games. I haven't seen Joy yet, but based on you saying Silver Linings was bad, I'm thinking perhaps I wouldn't find it too awful.
if you went into Silver Linings with the expectation of it being a cliche, cheesy cute film, I don't think it's too bad. I knew it was gonna be one of those dopey chick flicks when I watched it and it wasn't torture (but I wouldn't watch it again)

Bradley Cooper's mental illness was only an issue when it was relevant to the plot, and it wasn't ever made clear what he had - it was a convenient mix of bipolar, depression, anger management, etc.
Labyrinth
10/10
I guess this is both relevant to current events and movie-related

test test
is anyone going to talk about the movie she was literally just in that looked relatively serious?
i thought the hunger games (1st movie) was really, really good. like, not from an artsy film perspective, but just as an adaptation of what is basically a kids book.

tbh it was a pretty shit adaption.
jennifer lawrence doesn't give a fuck about acting and it shows
she rides on a "whacky and quirky" personality during interviews and her look
david o russell is just the fuckin worst and needs to stop making movies

She did in Winters Bone.
Good movie IMO.
I know why, because david o russell is insufferable. it's like wacky shit for boring people. it's boring, pretentious wacky.
Winter's Bone was legitimately boring

Not only that, she's also a horrible human being, but acts so wacky and quirky so comes off as a borderline likeable and down to earth.
Proof? After winning GG, on the backstage she berated a journalist because he read the question for her from the phone. Because he didn't English real good. Wanted to make a joke real hard but she's just an ass

Let's just start off by saying that David O Russell is clinically mental, like literally that guy is a sort of psychopath. I guess that explains his relationship with JLaw, they understand each other. During the shooting of Three Kings infamously George Clooney almost beat him for how he treated the crew.
I mean how can you fuck something up completely, that from the cast of Mark "Vietnam Fucking Shits" Wahlberg and Ice "Straight Outta Compton" Cube, it's the nicest guy on Earth that loses his shit on your behaviour.
Oh, and his films are shallow and unenjoyable. I'm fairly convinced that a 12-years old was able to come up with a better story for American Hustle. And that happened in the history.
Relevant to today's news, I watched this a few days ago.
The Prestige (Christopher Nolan, 2006)
9/10
It's original and deep (and deeper as the film goes on), with great actors and a good art direction. Fans of plot twists will love this.
And it has David Bowie as Nikola Tesla. R.I.P.

the dude was asking 'how do you see yourself for the Oscar night', reasonable and correct question as the oscars is coming up, but she just shits on him to make a joke at his expense? wtf
Would've been interesting to see her as Daisy in Hateful 8, just to see if she could pull it off
she needs to just stop being an actress and be a stripper instead
yeesh
guys lay off jlaw okay!?!?!
she came off really cuntish with that journalist, kinda gutted the journalist didn't slam her with "my english isn't good so I'm reading the question off of my phone"
On the vague topic about the Golden Globes, I can't wait to watch 2015's hottest comedy, The Martian.
[editline]11th January 2016[/editline]
Looks like someone's scared of phones.
I'm so mad The Martian was in the same category as Spy and Trainwreck. Spy was a really funny movie, it didn't deserve to be snubbed by a space survival movie with a few funny Matt Damon quips.
Also, Jennifer Lawrence didn't need another award, there were others much more deserving. Makes these award shows feel like such circle-jerks.
Spy was a really funny movie
Spy was one of the least funny movies I've seen in a very long time.
