i actually thought Andrew Garfield played a great Spiderman but not a great Peter Parker
Toby McGuire didn't seem young and athletic enough to be Spiderman but he acted a pretty good Peter Parker
The problem with both actors is that they were only good with one specific side. We need an actor who's good at playing Spider Man and good as Peter Parker.
The Revenant
Pretty much perfect in every regard. I wanted to live in it at times it was so beautiful.
does the revenant have likable or human characters
does the revenant have likable or human characters
Debateable. Leo's acting was very animalistic at times, very raw. Tom Hardy wasn't "likeable," per say, but he was human enough. Pretty funny, too.
the revenant was wonderful. coming from birdman, i knew from the beginning that inarittu would deliver and oh boy if he did.
beatiful cinemaphotography (the opening slaughter is gorgeous), excellent performance by dicaprio and liked hardy too.
the entire movie is a long and beatiful journey into leo's mind. he slowly lose his sanity until the end of the movie, when he finally turns into a beast fuelled only by his spirit of vengeance.
the ending fight between him and hardy's character is great and perfectly represents this
cruel, gritty and terrifying. defintely my favourite movie of 2015
that's my biggest issue with just about every modern movie set before the 20th century. every character is an animal asshole, and it's what keeps me from wanting to see the revenant in theatres.

It's how it was, though, when it comes to mountain men.

to be fair, the lifestyle of mountain men during that time period was incredibly brutal and raw
mountain men are what this world needs more of, if you ask me.
I watched The Hateful Eight and was surprised on how much I would like the movie, cinematography and sound design were excellent throughout. Some of the pacing was a bit iffy early on, though.
The people in the front row of the theater (which played the movie nice and wide) were loud as fuck and one of them was using their phone on full brightness. Some chick came over to tell them to shut up and they got louder so staff told them to be quiet. At some point they walked out right before the action started and dropped an entire bucket of popcorn on the floor in front of them apparently. Staff said they walked into another movie for 30 minutes and left, there was a cop there afterwards and the staff was literally taking a statement from the woman that came up to them. Dunno what that was about, maybe they sneaked in or something.
Seeing The Revenant on Monday, should have enough snowy movies for the month.
i seem to be the minority here but i cannot remember the last time i had a bad moviegoing experience
people seem to be relatively polite when it comes to public behavior where i live. sure, theres the occasional annoying group of teenagers or a crying baby but generally everyone tends to shut the fuck up when the lights dim
Yeah, for the most part people around here shut up or understand when to leave if they have a crying baby or whatever. People like to basically shout during the previews, though.

i was worried that someone would be the one asshole to scream spoilers during star wars.
not that it would have spoiled me, but for the company i was with and everyone else in the theater, they would have been very pissed off.

I went and saw The Revenant last night with a friend who I've never seen a movie with
He pulled out his phone for a few minutes and I'm still a little salty about it

The only bad experience I've had for a few years was when the carer of some disabled guy clearly had no interest in the film (I think it was the last Hunger Games) and spent literally 75% of the movie browsing facebook on her phone, right in the middle front of the audience since that's where the wheelchair space is.

let me just add this
I truly think the third movie is the best in the series. Shit is good. I want to make a movie like that.

No. Best to worst is literally 1 > 2 > 3.
Darkman - Although it follows a lot of cliches it is still a great superhero film. Had great action, camerawork, Sam Raimi's moments of humor, and the makeup design was absolutely great. Some special effects at times seemed a bit dated (specifically greenscreen usage), but that can be overlooked.

And it had Liam Neeson in it.
Watched Oceans Eleven last night, the Clooney one. It's been so long since I saw it, thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone delivers a great performance and I really enjoyed how the main character didn't hog the screen whenever he was in it.
Mad Max: Fury Road
As someone who isn't typically an action movie guy, I can definitely see why this is earning so many oscar nominations. The action sequences were perfectly paced, it had some crazy ass stunts, the production value was insanely high. Something small I also noticed is how well things tend to enter/leave the frame, it makes the movie flow very smoothly.
However, I didn't give a shit about Max at all, during any point in the movie. Furiosa felt like the better main character, and I'm glad they didn't shoehorn a romance between them (although they did with the warboy and the redheaded girl). The plot was very basic, but it didn't feel like the type of movie that required a complicated plot.
8/10, probably my favorite action movie since Casino Royale
cleaning out my basement
any reason to keep these?

keep short circuit and bin every other movie you own
assassination of jesse james is amazing
Daddys Home. 0/10. I mean it. We didnt pay much to see it and thank god because this is the first movie ever, that i have wanted to leave the theater. And i have seen some shit, pretty much everything from 2012-2014 when i was a Supervisor at a AMC. Wow I was suffering
regarding the hateful eight:
[sp]so it doesn't -really- matter, but did daisy know about their plan the whole time? she says something at the end to the effect of "you're gonna die in some nigga's habbadashery!" How did she know that Minnie was black? something that really threw most of the movie off for me (away from the predicting something in the realm of a gang breakout) was the convenience of the haberdashery. Why did Bob (edit: OB) happen to bring them there if he wasn't in on the plan?[/sp]

But [sp]Bob was part of the gang all along, so what are you talking about?[/sp]
I think he meant JB
