When I saw the Deadpool trailer when I saw the Hateful Eight I was embarrassed that I had to even sit through that trailer for such a great film. Like I really hope this is all shitty marketing and the actual film will not be an unfunny piece of shit. Bait and switches like that have been done before (e.g. Spring Breakers).
Inside Llewyn Davis is probably my favorite Coen brothers movie
Mine too. It's actually pretty much perfect film, it's based on two amazing and underused emotions - melancholia and comfyness.
I adore this song, I've listened to it five hundred times. Five hundred times.

I agree, it's a brilliant movie. Reminds me that Criterion just put out their special edition which I really want to get. The original blu-ray was really bare bones. Also:

My favorite from the movie.
i dont have a problem with poo and ass jokes
i just have a problem with unfunny ones
and deadpool looks really unfunny
yeah I have to agree. The problem isn't that they're dick jokes, some of my favorite comedies are dick joke based. In the trailer they come off as forced and all like "haha you laughing yet????"
the fun of deadpool, for me, was laughing at him not with him. the movie goes in the completely opposite direction
i hope you guys realize that's all the point.
have any of you read deadpool comics? he constantly breaks the fourth walls, makes sexual innuendos and chops off heads.
don't get me wrong, the movie based on the more recent comics, which aren't as good as when deadpool started out, but this is literally the character put on-screen, not that shit in x-men origins wolverine.
i'm in the same pool as you, i don't think it will be that funny and it does look forced as hell, but it is straight out of its source material.
i don't think anyone is really disputing that, they're just saying they don't enjoy that particular type of humor
Cinderella Man - 7/10
jared leto looks pretty terrible as the joker
for some reason the only one i had any faith in during that trailer was will smith
but yea it seems like they're really trying hard to be guardians of the galaxy with that "worst heroes" ever tagline

nobodys saying its different from comics
we are saying that the comics are shit too. because hes a shit character
and before anyone says 'hes not the memey version of deadpool one comic book guy did!' just realise that i know this. and that doesnt make it good. just not as bad.
I saw Star Wars Episode VII a few weeks ago.
Pretty good.
On the scale of words, I rate:
Shit
Very bad
Bad
Alright
Good
Very good
Close to perfect
Miller's Crossing - The first few minutes in or so it seemed like I was not going to enjoy it very much, but when it picked up, it did so heavily. Lots of memorable moments throughout the film. I'll have to rewatch it because there are a few things I didn't pick up on (like [sp]who actually killed Mink[/sp]).

Land of the Dead - Not as good as Romero's original trilogy, but still a good zombie film.

He looks like Joker, he sounds like Joker, he laughs like Joker and hopefully he behaves like Joker.
I mean come on

There's a huge chance that he'll come the closest to the TAS iteration which is pretty much established as the defining one.
i saw the revenant and in total it was good and amazing cinematography but the story wasn't as sophisticated as his other movies and so it was too long
Cavalry - 7/10
[sp]rip Bruno[/sp]

He acts like a bad actor playing the joker.
which sucks cause Leto can act usually.
The Hateful Eight
took a little while to get going, but man did it finish strong. what a great twist, the ending was by far the best part of the movie
it was very good but nowhere near one of tarantino's best, not many memorable conversations aside from the obvious. as far as a numerical rating goes i really don't know what i'd give it, probably gage it around 7.5/8
He acts like a bad actor playing the joker.
Could you elaborate on that because I haven't got the faintest idea what you're talking about.

think of a guy playing the joker in a batman parody video/fan film
not that i agree but i think that's what he means
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (again)
9/10
Still a classic. Brilliant sound design.

literally nothing about what we've seen is like TAS joker
Ravenous (1999). An unusual yet very solid western/horror flick about madness and cannibalism. Plenty of well-written and executed dark humor underlining the events, great cinematography and solid performances throughout. A very positive surprise. 8/10.
the worst part about the new joker design are those godawful tattoos
the joker strikes me as someone who doesn't give a fuck about anything, all those tats seem way too neat and forced, i dunno. he doesn't even strike me as someone who get tats at all, and if he did hed probably etch them in himself and they wouldnt look nearly as nice and tidy
he just looks so plastic and like an absolute poser who the dark knight joker would probably make fun of
like one thing i liked in the dark knight is he didn't put those scars there, he got them
[editline]d[/editline]
it would almost be tolerable if it weren't for ~~~DAMAGED~~ written across his forhead
[editline]d[/editline]
it totally goes against his entire way of thinking imo
I might be going to a midnight screening of Akira tonight. Seeing that movie on the big screen is, like, a bucket list item for me.

idk i think it could be kinda cool if he starts out as a tryhard two-bit crook and then becomes legitimately nuts over the course of the film, maybe loses his tattoos in some way as well or adds some much less neat ones of his own to cover them up
but let's be honest they're not gonna do that
I take it that midnight screenings of it aren't exactly uncommon, though, so it's probably not a big deal if I miss this one.

Merge.

I haven't even seen the Suicide Squad trailer but the Damaged tattoo alone makes me kinda not.... want..... to see..... the movie

that is a neat idea though, if he made the joker persona and then you see him sorta unintentionally really grow into it over the course of the movie
but that wont happen
Are David Croenberg films any good? I kinda wanted to start watching some.
watch eastern promises
history of violence is alright but i wasnt really a huge fan of it
i havent seen any of his other movies
videodrome, the fly, and crash are also good to watch
