how is that controversial.. mickey rourke stapled how gr8 he actually was.. and with such a misguided career for a gr8 actor it's depressing
[editline]31st January 2016[/editline]
if u see his 3min cameo performances in expendables and the pledge and aren't gobsmacked why his agent doesn't get him gr8 roles then im damned
Rourke's monologue in the expendables 2 ( p sure it was 2) deserved to be in a significantly better movie
Enemy
I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I understand it. It reminded me of Possession except instead of a [sp]tentacle monster[/sp] there's [sp]spiders.[/sp] Both movies made me feel really uneasy. Gyllenhaal did a great job (when doesn't he?) separating Anthony and Allen. Good use of little tics and whatnot.
Anyway, about the spiders: [sp]I'm thinking that Anthony and Allen were both the same guy and the spiders represent his fear of being found out, something that looms over him. The car crash was merely in his head. When he finds the tarantula at the end, he knows that Helen knows, or something.[/sp]
I'm probably wrong and I'd love to hear what other people think.

[sp]pretty much, the spiders represent his view of women. trapping him in their webs, etc. its a freudian thing or something.[/sp]
i feel if i pause i've ruined the movie
[editline]31st January 2016[/editline]
even if it's 4hrs...
you must prepare or you just won't absorb dem good vibes.
I hate when I'm watching a movie and I have to pause. Usually I'll have to restart the scene or at least go back a minute after I pause to get properly back into the film since pausing midscene is too disorienting.
it's definitely Requiem for a Dream
i really hated the wrestler. it had a dumb message and was just a gross movie
The Revenant 9/10
Not to get specific about the technical production - which was brilliant, I'll find ironicaly beautiful if the movie DiCaprio gets his long coming Oscar is on a movie he speaks less than 15 sentences.
oh and the bear
the revenant is one of those movies im gonna have to have a physical copy of. bet it looks astonishing in blu ray too
Semi relevant, but I never realized how big of a difference Bluray makes until I watched Drive on bluray and then went right to Social Network on DVD. God, I feel like I can't watch anything on normal DVD anymore, it looks so much worse.

thanks, now im gonna have to buy drive too
its worth it, it looks even more gorgeous in bluray
ur telling me there are still people in 2016 who watch dvds? wtf? what is wrong with you are you fucked in the head?
i know youre being le epic troll but when i see a dvd of a great movie for 3 dollars im gonna buy that shit if i dont have it already
i bought all the good blurays they had there but you cant win em all
im not trolling. dvds are ancient, backwards technology that have always been an awful standard even when they were new
yeah lets use .vob files. and lets put them in VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS but literally never put anything in AUDIO_TS. yea lets split the video files up into 1gb segments. yea lets use mpeg2 to encode it. yea lets fit an entire film on a 4gb disc. lets dnr and edge enhance the master to make it scale down as well as we can and make it look totally fucked
never buy a dvd
[editline]1st February 2016[/editline]
blurays are mostly $10 nowadays if u actually buy a dvd you are insane
[editline]1st February 2016[/editline]
im not condoning piracy, but you can literally pirate a terrible COMPACT DISC sized rip of a bluray and its still far better quality than the dvd
never buy a dvd
no
i respect your opinion but im going to ignore it, if i see a kickass deal im going to take it, even if the technology is very outdated
thanks for dashing all my hopes and dreams again rusty
$5 on amazon for a bluray copy of drive for me is worth it though
no
fuck you!!!!!
[editline]1st February 2016[/editline]
i will not tolerate this dvd sympathizing !!!
rusty what is your address? i want to mail you some dvds.
I only have a DVD player.
I don't have a bluray player.
In the end,
I just watch Netflix :v:
instead of feeding african kids we should be supplying bluray drives to those who dont have any
hey check out these sweet dvds of NAVY SEALS TRANSFORMERS 2 AND TOP GUN im sending you
rusty how do you feel about vhs tapes
rusty how do you feel about vhs tapes
i don't think he's familiar with this meme
I kinda agree with Rusty. I can't stand DVDs and don't see any purpose in them nowadays since Blu-Rays are basically the same price as a DVD.
rusty how do you feel about vhs tapes
whenever people talk about vhss im always reminded of point break and various other 90s gems

and wayne's world
some dvds r ok :-(
I don't have a blu ray player either but on the rare occasion I actually buy a movie I always get the blu ray/dvd combo packs so I can at least watch the movie now
yall should just get a last gen console at least, they go for like $50 now prob
i use mine as a platform for literally everything
Can we stop with the DVD bashing. Not all of us have jobs y'know. I only buy Blu-Rays of my favourite films, especially if they are heavily visual.
Also saw The Revenant today. 9/10 was a beautiful film, will probably get it on Blu-Ray when it comes out.
