i liked trainspotting but a "trainspotting 2" just seems weird
They can't really title it Porno, though. But they should have.
I love me some Mads Mikkelsen but Im kind of afraid to watch The Hunt based off of how difficult I have been told it is to watch.
With all the weight of these words, Jagten truly is one of the best films of the decade. Incredibly powerful and resonating with enormous emotional impact on the viewer. The magic of cinema to make the viewer feel something encapsulated in a single feature film. It's just great and not difficult at all - you're glued to the screen till the last minute, though afraid of what's yet to come.
(although at times I had trouble understanding the Scottish).
Just like in real life!
Spotlight: 8/10 Originally I wasn't even going to see it because I hadn't seen the trailer properly and wasn't too interested, but some friends of mine wanted to so I tagged along. Ended up being glued to the screen for it's entirety and found myself consistently interested in the film as it progressed. Solid film with fantastic acting performances (especially from, in my opinion, Ruffalo) amongst the entire cast, I feel it's really up there with my favourites and possibly one of my favourites of the year (while it may be early to judge there aren't a whole lot of movies releasing this year that come to mind that look properly great to me except for High Rise, although I've more than likely missed some so feel free to correct me).
I watched the Land before Time with my nephew this morning. Holy shit that film is still good, I was getting all nostalgic and a little bit teary eyed in places. Sarah is still a cunt though. Always was.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/acoObaY.jpg[/t] 7/10. It was "okay", but I've found myself caring very little about the plot or the villain - not that Christoph Waltz wasn't any good at it, it's just that the movie felt dull to me. Daniel Craig is okay, Léa Seydoux is hot as hell but okay, Monica Belluci is okay... I'd say I've watched it just so that I could say that I've watched it once, and I don't feel like watching it again. Casino Royale > Skyfall > Spectre > Quantum of Solace In that order, for me. [editline]8th February 2016[/editline] Special mention to Dave Bautista as a "mute" henchman, he was pretty good.
I found the "It was me Austin/Bond! It was me all along!" thing they tried to do fell flat when it came to Skyfall, with the antagonist of that film having beef with a particular someone rather than doing crime purely for profit. As such the story lacked a bit of punch when it came to the main villian. Plus there was a long time between SPECTRE and Quantum of Solace so I totally forgot there was meant to be an overarching thing with Mr White. I could barely tell who Mr White was his face was so unmemorable. That's why you have Jaws with his jaws, Oddjob with his hat, Xenya with her being a crazy sadist... Mr White had... grey hair...? Spoiler gripes: [sp]That torture since was a complete misfire of a chekov's gun, "I will make you slightly disorentated and forget faces!" but it does neither so what was even the point? And lastly, I wasn't a fan of the 'happy ending' Bond got after Casino Royale subverted a previous 'happily ever after'. The film was trying to close the loop of that story but's not really a loop we wanted closing, it was meant to be Bond's beginning which leads on to the previous films rather than the start of Bond's quest to leave the spying game. Do we really want an end for Bond? I don't, at least.[/sp] Also I miss Dame Judi Dench M...
I think QoS gets too much hate. I probably like it more than Spectre but that's because Spectre had so many reasons to be good and they wasted them plus it had a couple of weird pacing moments.
I hated Quantum of Solace so much I forgot that the first hour of it actually happened.
I hated Quantum of Solace so much I forgot that the first hour of it actually happened.
All I remember is the opera scene and a building catches fire. Oh, and what happens to Ms Fields but not the why of it.
All I remember is the opera scene and a building catches fire. Oh, and what happens to Ms Fields but not the why of it.
The only bits I really distinctly remembered were the theme and like, the ending.
All I remember is the opera scene and a building catches fire. Oh, and what happens to Ms Fields but not the why of it.
cause she decided to help Bond instead of bringing him back to MI6 by tripping some henchman, allowing Bond to escape. Greene's henchmen followed her back to the hotel and killed her there.
The Last Witch Hunter and Crimson Peak -The Last Witch Hunter is um interesting, the trailer looks cool but the story I don't know. I wouldn't want to watch it again. The witch queen's face looks very good, very gross, all the worms... I would give it a 5/10 maybe? It makes me think of Seventh Son... -Crimson Peak looks beautiful like I expected, costumes are very gorgeous. Looks very beautiful. The two characters, Lucille Sharpe and Thomas Sharpe's backstories are very engaging. It slowly revealed about their information and it's mysterious, disturbing and creepy. Some parts are quite intense. I would like to watch it again for the beautiful costumes. 7/10
All I remember is the opera scene and a building catches fire. Oh, and what happens to Ms Fields but not the why of it.
All I remember of Quantum of Solace is that the bad guy is...stealing water or something, they fight ina facility in a desert as it blows up and the Bond girl kills the henchman who maybe raped her mother? And someone got covered in Oil like in Goldfinger. I honestly thought the QoS song was an orchestral, that's how little I remember the film. I'll never forget "Writing's on the wall" and I wish I could.
Finally watched Mad Max: Fury Road, I shall give it Valhalla/10.
Finally watched Mad Max: Fury Road, I shall give it Valhalla/10.
MEDIOCRE
Actually the word ur lookin for is "sick " [editline]9th February 2016[/editline] Re fury road on the last page lol
i liked fury road a lot more the 2nd time i watched it
Fury Road was good but that's pretty much all it was, nothing more.
Question: You see it in a 3D theater or not?
with fury road i liked watching it more outside the theater honestly then again it was a pretty average theater
Fury Road was good but that's pretty much all it was, nothing more.
Well, it did kind of have some of the most well done, well shot and well directed action scenes in a movie for a while so there's that too.
i really respect fury road for the insane quality of filmmaking it possesses but i just dont enjoy action movies i will probably give it a rewatch at some point though, i loved the world it was set in
The World is not Enough were pretty bad.
that one was pretty good, i'd say second best to goldeneye for pierce bond.
bond movies are boring, fury road was boring. stylish action without substance mad max 2 rules.
bond movies are boring, fury road was boring. stylish action without substance mad max 2 rules.
Looks like someone can't get beyond Thunderdome.
bond movies are boring, fury road was boring. stylish action without substance mad max 2 rules.
Said the guy praising Dredd 3D.
Said the guy praising Dredd 3D.
the difference being that dredd isn't boring and has substance thanks to alex garland. [editline]10th February 2016[/editline] that is a movie that could easily have been a dumb shitty action if it didn't have such great writing talent on it
I watched Hail, Caesar. It was a movie I guess? Things happened but I'm not entirely sure what the point of half of it was beyond showing how Hollywood was weird. The theatrical trailer made it look like [sp]Jonah Hill was actually in the movie.[/sp] It wasn't bad, just kind of pointless in a way.
These reviews of Hail Caesar so far sound like people are having the same issues with it that I had with Burn After Reading, where it sets up a bunch of intricate and funny plots with interesting characters and then just does...nothing with it Still seeing it Friday regardless. I'm sure I'll still enjoy myself even if I don't love it
Question: You see it in a 3D theater or not?
I saw it in 3D and 2D, there really wasn't much visual difference between the two at all.
