hahaha, why evil
hahaha, why evil
because it made a giant joke out of a real life event that hurt many people

oh, right
guess the rock really is his only genuinely ok movie
[editline]d[/editline]
"evil" seems like a bit of a stretch though. it isnt the only movie to have taken insensitive liberties with the source material
I remember liking the first Transformers, but I haven't seen it since it was in theaters. Never saw the sequels. The Rock is pretty good though.
You saved yourself some torture, but in an unpopular opinion fashion, I though Dark of the Moon was okay. TF4 on the other hand...Ugh.
What's next, a entire movie based on Bumblebee?
because it made a giant joke out of a real life event that hurt many people
Wait, for real?
i thought dotm was okay as well. rotf would have been better had it not bothered with all of the college nonsense.
and yeah, age of extinction was just pure garbage. irredeemable on all accounts.
also, yes, pain & gain was based on a real thing. don't see how it's an evil film for that, but w/e.

michael bay is just a mean spirited moron
Didn't like Public Enemies by Mann at all.
it was just ok
also i respect mann for being a stickler for historical accuracy and trying his best to weave it into a good movie
granted it was apparently riddled with inaccuracies but it wouldve been way worse given any other director
also man the sound design was still so on point
[editline]d[/editline]
thanks for being a boner as always though
i would like other australians to confirm or deny lack of genitals in deadpool?
[editline]15th February 2016[/editline]
i am usually the first to notice the p.
wtf
Last watched "Murder 3"
is that a sequel to The Three by donald kaufman
Watched Frank a bit ago.
I think the best bit of the movie [sp]is that he finally accepts that he'll never be a good musician and becomes comfortable with his mediocrity.[/sp]
But overall a great movie.
The skin I live in , 7.5/10
Great movie, just not as "SHOCKING AND UNFORGETTING" as some people claimed it would be. Some people even compared it to Requiem for a dream.
started watching Charlie's Country
seems good so far. netflix has a few good nice hidden underneath everything
they even have the killer which seemed crazy weird, been trying to find this movie for a while
Ronin. 8/10
I admit i have a huge boner for Jean Reno, but even then its such a crude, rentless movie where every single character is a fucking bastard and you end loving them all.

it is rather shocking the first time you see it, but hey, who you been talking to

Watched The Boy and The World yesterday, holy shit, what a piece. Doesn't really have lines and the written words - such as letters or signs - don't belong to any language I know of, so it is a pretty universal flick in a way that the rural and urban settings are relatable.
Solid 9.5/10
sidenote: it is beautifully hypnotizing
Why do the people I know from High School tend to have really bad taste in movies. This one guy just posted that Lazer Team is now his number 1 movie of all time, beating out Happy Gilmore which was, in his own words, "In that spot for over 10 years".
I need friends who are more into movies...
Zoolander 2 - Another case of seeing a movie, only because the one I wanted to see was sold out (Deadpool)
I didn't expect a lot and I didn't get a whole lot from it either. The trailer showed 90% of the funny moments, and the rest of the jokes were terribly strung together.
6/10 - Throw it on in the background while you hangout with some friends.
Deadpool - 7/10
It was okay. A lot of people I know have been hyping it up, saying it's amazing, one even saying it's Marvel's best movie. But I won't go that far, though to be fair I'm not actually that big on Marvel movies to begin with. It was entertaining, and thankfully a lot better than I was expecting it to be. Deadpool's humor is generally very hit or miss with me, and that's the case here, but leaning more towards hit than most what I've seen from him. While a number of the jokes fell flat, I felt quite a lot of them were actually on point and genuinely funny. But no movie nails all of it's jokes anyways.
I don't think I'd rush to see it again or anything. Maybe I wouldn't mind watching it down the line if there's not much else on. But for what it was it kept me entertained throughout it, so I guess that's enough.
I definitely didn't dislike Deadpool as much as I feared I would. Hell, it was even good. I'd recommend people see it if they're looking for something that can make them laugh. Hit and miss jokes, but what comedy movie doesn't have that? It's greatest weakness is that it makes fun of regular movie tropes, but then does them straight-faced and it all comes out a bit disjointed. Would recommend, 6/7 outta 10.
Deadpool - 5/10
Better than I expected. Throws 10 jokes per second and hopes some of them stick while you forget about the ones that weren't funny.
The jokes making fun of superhero films don't work when the movie itself is pretty standard fare, especially in the last act (which also made no sense, as mentioned in another post.)
The villains especially. They were "strong woman" and "vaguely superhuman man" (who also feels no emotions, what a great way to make a memorable villain.[sp]By the way, why did he ask Deadpool to say his name after the hospital incident? When they meet again it seems like he just says it to set up a joke. Why would Deadpool call him Ajax when he has no leverage over him?)[/sp]
However, the action was great and it had a lot of funny moments/scenes (the pizza scene, everything with TJ.)
Overall, no strong feelings one way or the other.
LIGHTNING ROUND
Rushmore - 8/10
I love Wes Anderson and I love coming of age films. It was very easy to relate with the main character even though he is basically the opposite of who I was in high school. Bill Murray was also great.
I think that I would like it even more after a rewatch.
What About Bob? - 6/10
Bill Murray is great in this film as well, and I thought it was funny, but nothing really stood out.
Amélie - 8/10
Very quirky and sappy and French. Made me laugh and made me happy, not much more to ask from a movie.
Cube - 4/10
I love high concept films, and the concept/setting of Cube carried it pretty far on its own, but the questionable acting and dialogue brought it down.
Anomalisa:
There's something so hypnotic about a stop motion film designed to look realistic. The sound design really sold that aspect as well as the visuals.
The production was very impressive overall, I really enjoyed the contrast between the elaborate animation and the small, personal story it told. It would've been far easier just to shoot this live action, but then it wouldn't have nearly the same effect.
I'm not sure exactly what I'd rate it, but it was very unique and I liked it.
Maniac Cop - Fun B-movie starring Bruce Campbell and Tom Atkins, which is exactly what I went in hoping for.
By the way, why did he ask Deadpool to[sp] say his name after the hospital incident? When they meet again it seems like he just says it to set up a joke. Why would Deadpool call him Ajax when he has no leverage over him?)[/sp]

It's called a taunt :v:
Also spoiler tag your shit
so i'm bored, and i've decided to have myself a little marathon of

gonna watch the following:
green zone
the good shepherd
the martian
bourne trilogy
good will hunting
in that exact order
green zone is underrated
martian is overrated
green zone got panned bc it wasnt propaganda and probably made people uncomfortable. its a decent movie
body of lies is another movie sorta like it that got the same mediocre reviews. not a must see but its got solid acting plus some thoughtful themes. mark strong is suave af and by far the best part of the movie
Finally saw Anomalisa, 7/10
Can't deny I'm a little disappointed. It's still good and I get what Kaufman was getting at, but as a follow up to Synecdoche New York, which is a film that's a personal 10/10 and in my top 5 films of all time, it misses the mark a bit. The scope is much, much smaller and the themes weren't as relatable to me as his films usually are
This is probably my least favorite Charlie Kaufman film yet, which is a shame because I liked the idea of him teaming up with the folks that made Moral Orel and there are still good elements. Jennifer Jason Leigh is wonderful as always, and it's interesting to see her essentially play a role that's the polar opposite of her character in Hateful Eight. I could also see Anomalisa as a "fuck you" to [sp]Lost in Translation[/sp]
I'll be rewatching it for sure though, Charlie Kaufman's films always change with time and perspective and I'm sure Anomalisa won't be any different. I didn't like Adaptation very much the first time I saw it and now it's my favorite Spike Jonze film
Went out and watched Deadpool.
Was actually pretty damn funny
[sp] The Alien 3 and Colossus throwing up bits were fucking great.[/sp]
Life of Pi - 9/10
The movie was on TV and I know I watched a cut down version, so I plan to hunt for a DVD soon. Otherwise, it was pretty beautiful and actually pretty fun.
