My wife told me that we went and saw that on a date night and I have no memory of it. That doesn't happen often where I forget movies so it must of been bad
its going to be memorable just for that scene i talked about
plus she got really mad at me because i kept referring to Amsterdam as "hooker town"
As Above, So Below. 7/10
Found footage horror set in the Paris catacombs. I liked this movie. The atmosphere of the catacombs was really good (they actually filmed in the real catacombs) and the movie was intense, got me hooked!

That's okay. Anytime one of my buddies goes to Amsterdam, he mentions the hookers.

All I can think of is that one scene from In Bruges.
Well, I did it. I finally bought Sicario on Bluray and watched it alone in the pitch black.
Holy shit, that was good. Benecio Del Toros character and performance were absolutely fascinating. Roger Deacons is also a god damn genius. How did he get those night time shots to actually look like night time? One of the few movies I've seen that actually gets that right. Every shot could basically be framed, that's how gorgeous this movie is in its own bizarre way. This movie felt absolutely meticulously crafted, that one nighttime shot that made the agents look like they were literally becoming part of the land is one that particularly stuck with me. Villeneuve is a fantastic director and he's proving every time he releases another movie, they're diverse as fuck but they all have a similar sort of tone.
Strangely enough, what it reminded me of the most (other than Zero Dark Thirty) was the first season of True Detective. The tons of overhead aerial location shots coupled with the dark, dread-inducing soundtrack really gave off that same sort of vibe. And, am I reading too much into it, or did this movie go the Breaking Bad route of showing characters moral standings through clothing color? Basically everything in this movie was colored either beige or blue, and it seemed like the color of the 3 main characters outfits reflected the ideas of order versus chaos.
That was the best movie I've seen in a long ass time, even if a very few number of scenes felt a little overdone.
9.5/10, Blade Runner 2 is in good hands

The fucking border crossing to Juarez was more intense than Whiplash.
Zootopia
First, I gotta say, I went to the theater and found no kids (surprisingly) and no furries (thank god).
The plot is entertaining and fresh, with an interesting twist.
There are some funny jokes and a couple of cameos (there's a reference to Breaking Bad, for example).
The animation is pretty good, and the diversity of characters, details and enviroments is quite big.
Shakira's song and character are obnoxious AF, that's the only thing I disliked about the movie.
I give this movie an 8 out of 10, if you like animation movies, you should definitely watch this one.
This shit right here, this is what got me thinking of True Detective.

This is what I wanted from Season 2. The location felt like a character of its own in Sicario, just like how the backwaters of Louisiana felt so alive in S1. God damn, now I gotta rewatch True Detective.
What a fucking good ass movie, the more I think about it the more attention to detail I notice.
idk why youd even say that the assembly cut of alien 3 is good. a good piece of ridley scott. its just a movie that went through studio hell and i dont blame him for the theatrical version
WELL I HOPE YOURE HAPPY YOU PROBABLY UPSET LANCE
