i think george romero is the expert if anything also rusty, have you actually read wwz or the zombie survival guide? because the zombies in that are most certainly more in line with romero zombies, disbarring the voodoo and virus stuff that get thrown in for creative reasons. the movie took serious liberties by making the zeds more like dotd 04
I think no one is the expert on zombies because they aren't real. But Max Brooks is still an entertaining writer.

[editline]4th September 2015[/editline] i mean, if somebody actually invented the idea, much like you would a fantasy species, sure. but they didn't. they have always been a concept, interpreted in different ways since forever. before zombies there were body snatches, more in line with voodoo. reanimation and mind control have always been concepts in media and otherwise. a zombie isn't an idea any one person came up with. so nobody can define it.
I hereby challenge rusty to come up with an insult that isn't "hack fraud" or a variant of those words
Home 8/10 It is a great kids film, that teaches some subtle lessons in social queues and the dangers of socialism. Also contains some emotional scenes and good character design (disregarding the squashed up human faces and limited alien colour palette). However I refuse to give it a 9, due to its heavy reliance on "hip" music and Cat talk.
Children of Men - 9/10
Any good films about the Cold War? Doesn't matter how it touches it, from spy movies to war movies. Preferably something that is known to be on Netflix or Amazon Prime, I haven't money to go out and buy a DVD.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Man Who Came From The Cold, The Looking Glass War, Russia House, The Ipcress File, Topaz, The Hunt for Red October, Our Man in Havana and for the dessert Spies Like Us.
James Bond films are often related to the Cold War too. If you want one that isn't over the top and is very connected to the Cold War, try From Russia with Love. [editline]4th September 2015[/editline] And if you want Bond films that are over the top but still Cold War-related, try Octopussy, The Living Daylights and GoldenEye.
I watched WWZ the first time and it was poop, but then I watched it again like a year ago because my brother wanted to see it, and I ended really enjoying it. It's not perfect but it I think people don't give it enough credit because "blah blah the book". The biggest piece of bullshit in that movie is Brad Pitt surviving the plane crash, like it's not totally impossible, but he has already survived some serious shit before that. I would give like a 7/10
I have a certain sympathy towards it because it was shot where I live, and I know a few people who worked on it and were extras. I also know a stuntwoman who played a zombie who actually broke Brad Pitts finger during a scene. It was an intense fight, and Brad said to her "what was that? Try harder! HIT ME!" and well... she did. not everyone can say they know someone who broke brad pitts finger.
i haven't read it.
Then how the hell can you call it embarrassing?
good job
Then how the hell can you call it embarrassing?
Remember who you're talking to.
Straight Outta Compton - 10/10, loved it. Wasn't expecting to enjoy it much since I just went solo but I was drawn in with it, found it fantastic.

Then u see it again and its the most boring trash that has major dealbreaking flaws in every single scene and it is actually unwatchably bad cos u gotta sit through it knowing all the issues you took with it first time and you gotta deal with them again but except you know the story and stuff this time, so u focus more on whats "going on" and can look past spectacle, and it just becomes a straight up masochistic endurance test

Swingers(1992) It wasn't bad, good insight into how much overthinking each gender does regarding the opposite gender. 8/10
escape from LA is literally the best movie ive ever seen 7/10?? lul what a weird good movie. roger ebert the man himself apparently gave it 3.5/4
It was ahead of its time in CGI :v: [editline]4th September 2015[/editline] Che (2008) It was interesting being a "two part movie" and I feel it helps contrast between the Cuban revolution and the attempted Bolivian revolution. My only qualm with it is it's lack of a real, linear story - it's composed of different scenes of Che fighting in Cuba and Bolivia. Though the latter gives a better linear understanding of what's going on, it heavily relies on the viewer to know their history. Benicio del Toro was pretty awesome, as always, and looked pretty identical to Che in many scenes (though I didn't realize the guy playing Fidel Castro was Fidel until after a while due to looks). 8.5/10, would definitely watch over again.
Jesus Camp: 9/10 one of my all-time favorite documentaries ever. It doesn't say anything, good or bad, about the subject matter, it just has you watch it, and leaves it up to you to decide your stance. Though, most people will probably just be disgusted.
Tell us what you thought about the movie Back to the Future. (1985)
It was pretty good. Grfx 1 Sfx 1 Spfx 1 Rest 6. 9/10.
Reds (1981) I am conflicted about this film. The film feels like it's actually three films. One part being the drama at the look at the Communist Party in the US, one part being a documentary about the Russian Revolution and the growing disillusionment immediately afterward, and one part being the romance between Warren Beatty's John Reed and Diane Keaton's Louise Bryant characters. Now on one hand the three films by themselves are wonderfully made, but I don't really feel as though they work all that well together. Maybe if they were all separate movies they might work better. Furthermore, I honestly can't tell if I am supposed to sympathize with John Reed. I mean on one hand he is a pacifist, anti-war man, but on the other hand in some of his scenes railing against what would be called the First World War he and the rest of his comrades appear to be out of touch with the desires and feelings of the American working man that he and his comrades want to represent. If that was the intention than kudos to Beatty for succeeding. All that being said there was a lot about this film that I liked. I honestly didn't feel too great about the chemistry and performances of Beatty and Keaton in the leads but I really liked a lot of the performances of the ensemble cast, especially Maureen Stapleton as Emma Goldman. There were also a lot of the scenes during the Russian Revolution that I really liked and I liked that we get to see some of the dissenting opinions about the Revolution, even though I'm not sure who we were supposed to sympathize with. Perhaps if Reds had been edited down better and realized which of the three stories it wanted to focus on the most it would have been better, or especially if it had been edited how long it takes to get a good stride. That being said, there was a lot I liked and I thought it was rather enjoyable. 7/10
Swingers(1992) It wasn't bad, good insight into how much overthinking each gender does regarding the opposite gender. 8/10
great movie. An actually realistic pick-up/relationship movie that doesn't go down the dumb american pie lane. Also, favreau and vaughn are hilarious in it.
Batman Trilogy These films are insane, all star cast with strong acting across the board, great cinematography as expected and ofcourse the soundtrack...To be honest, Christopher Nolan & Hans Zimmer could make any piece of cinema memorable. 8.5/10 as a collective
Batman Trilogy ofcourse the soundtrack...
I'll be completely honest and admit I can't remember a single piece of the soundtrack from any of the three films.
To be honest, Christopher Nolan & Hans Zimmer could make any piece of cinema memorable.
Well, Interstellar was kind of meh.
