Batman: Gotham Knight \: 6/10
only about half the segments are good, but they're really good (and the bad ones are really bad)
That's all the Expendables are, a joke. It's a bunch of action stats making a big dumb action movie. I like them all but the first one was the best

2nd
Corrected. For you
I find them both equally good.
no, the 2nd is definitely the best because it has arnold and bruce willis in a fuckin smart car, and arnold just rips the door off of it with that "you really fuckin expect me to sit in this little shit?" look on his face, and bruce has to rebuff his own manliness by taking his door off as well. the 3rd messed up by having a lack of terry crews, the 1st one was good for having stone cold.

the 2nd one is the best and what the first film should have been but it was still mediocre overall.
although 1 had that mickey rourke monologue in it that was actually brilliantly written.
Don't forget JCVD in the second one showing an absolute masterpiece of vocal delivery.
at least they gave skeletor a better outfit

i'm still weirded out by that makeup. it's fantastic work but just looks unnatural.
I think the unnaturality comes from the fact that a skull should be narrower/smaller than a regular head, but because it's makeup they had to build 'up', so it looks kind of like a weird lumpy dude rather than bones.

Even the Red Skull had to cheat with CGI and it still looks a little funky.

My favorite scene in the second movie is when JCVD stabs a man in the chest... by having his henchman hold the knife and then roundhouse kicking the knife into the dude.
No Escape: 7.5/10
That was a lot better than i was expecting, I have never seen Owen Wilson in a serious roll and he killed it. The acting was great all around in this film and there were a lot of extremely intense moments.
If you have any doubts about this film go right ahead and see it, it is well worth the watch.

Except for any part with Chuck Norris, cause he's just ridiculously stupid and over done.
Re-watched the dark knight trilogy, wasn't too bad. I wish the they included more of the comical part of the Joker, he did the insane part pretty well but they could have thrown some more comical parts. And dear DC, stop making so many fucking story arcs.

wow i just got the biggest urge to watch road warrior again
i honestly hardly even recall much of fury road. im not sure if it's because it was moving along so quickly or bc i didn't like it all that much

[editline]d[/editline]
can anyone recommend me some chow yun fat movies? im trying to get into some chinese/kung fu stuff and he seems like a really cool guy start with
The Killer has 100% on rt so im assuming you guys have seen that?
Sin City Recut
5/5
Basically, the stories in Sin City done as standalone pieces with extra bits to be more like the original comic. The Big Fat Kill didn't seem to have anything new, though, but that's not a problem. I can see why they did it, but why not just make an extended cut out of the original film? It's kind of like chopping up Pulp Fiction and playing it in chronological order. You get the story, but it doesn't flow. There's a reason the movie's ending was technically the beginning; it had the most power. It's the same thing with That Yellow Bastard, it's the best story.
None of that takes away from Sin City. I still love the movie, and most of all, I love the performances. Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and Clive Owen all rock in Sin City. I haven't seen A Dame to Kill For, and probably won't after everything I've heard about it, which is a shame because Sin City is one of those movies I wish there was more of.
Avengers age of ultron
2/5
too many super heroes in this one.

I'm probably going to get roasted alive but I enjoyed the 1997 version of The Shining more than Kubricks version. Sure the Kubrick film had much better camera placement, acting and sound design, but I just felt that the 1997 had much better pacing and actually shown Jack Torrence slowly being driven mad by the hotel, unlike in the other film where he seems batshit insane from the start.
One thing I also liked better in the '97 version was that you know the hotel is haunted up the fucking arse with ghosts, whereas they played a minimal role in Kubrick's version. I even thought the woman in room 217 scene trumped Kubrick. The characters were much more relatable, after seeing something spooky, Jack just runs out the room yelling NOPE NOPE NOPE (seriously) which was comically believable.
Granted, the 1997 was a mini series so it's like 4 hours long which allowed it to flow much better over time, and as a huge fan of King and the book itself I'll be incredibly biased. Either way, if you read and liked The Shining, the mini series is one of the best book to screen adaptions I've seen in a long time.
So uh, enjoyment factor would be a 9/10, didn't have any issues besides some corny acting that only cropped up in a few scenes.
Ps I still really enjoy Kubricks version as its own thing.
The Number 23
The only thing I knew about this movie was people not liking it. I kind of did.
Seeing Jim Carrey in a ''serious'' role was a little bit getting used to, but after a while I got used to it.
The story itself is pretty interesting I think, and the effect it has is really good. I literally started watching all the numbers around me and trying to turn them into 23.
Where the movie does fall apart is the fact that Jim Carrey actually plays in the story/dream sequences. I allready thought before these sequences he was going to be the killer, but him playing in the story/dream sequences confirmed it even more.
After all, I liked it. It wasnt the best movie I've watched, but certainly not the worst.

Goodfellas
10/10 brilliant film

I think most people didn't like the movie because Jim Carrey is a comical person. He's not suited for such a serious role. Still, I enjoyed the movie as well.
I really like Jim Carrey in The Majestic

About a Boy
4/5
A nice little coming of age movie. Kind of funny to see that the lonely little kid in the movie is now this guy:
All the Expendables movies are shit and are boring.
[editline]14th September 2015[/editline]
Dame To Kill For was kind of lame. I don't hate it, but considering that Sin City is arguably my favorite movie, it's a hard act to follow. And waiting 9 years for it didn't help.
It's just okay. Worth your time, but not much else.
did you expect anything out of the expendables besides hammy acting and guns blazing? because if you did, you went in with the wrong mindset.
Enter The Void: 8/10
I don't know what to say about this film. I liked it, but it's not for everybody. Thing is I'm not really sure who it's exactly made for :V:
But I enjoyed it, mostly for the characters. But most characters are kinda either jerks or dumbasses. I'm ok with that, though.

yeah but have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? or The Truman Show?
