loved prisoners and especially enemy so it's really good to hear the positive stuff about sicario denis villeneuve is on a roll
god i hope blade runner doesn't kill his streak
tbh i don't get why blade runner should have a sequel. yeah, there's the written sequels written by pkd's friend with his blessing, but i don't think it is the kind of movie where i want a sequel
it is a very unnecessary sequel but tbh the story wasn't what i loved about the first film, it was the setting and the weird dreamlike trance it holds you in. if they don't fuck that up then i think it'll be acceptable, unnecessary or cynical though it may be
i don't know how they will succeed, or recreate anything like, the atmospheric clash between Ford's brooding gruffness and Hauer's, uh, pardon the pun, batty-ness
Someone here posted about it and I was curious about a good movie filmed in my country so there. In Bruges (Martin McDonagh, 2008) 8/10 It's dark, it's funny, it's... "cultural", all in very good taste. Fantastic acting performances. It has a few weak sequences but overall it's very pleasant. Good soundtrack. Definitely makes me want to visit Bruges again. Also, "why would anybody ever want to go to Belgium" gave me a good, biased laugh.
The Scorch Trials - 6/10 unlike the Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials feels like an actual movie. The zombies are so similar to the infected in The Last of Us I had to check and see which came first, and it seems Naughty Dog straight up ripped off the Maze runner series. If clickers could see and if they didn't produce spores they would be EXACTLY like the zombies in the Maze Runner in every sense. [sp]people even kill the immune to milk the cure from their brains[/sp]
In Bruges (2008) Watched this because a friend recommended it and because it's pretty short in comparison to a lot of movies. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Comedy dramas don't work well a lot of the time (for me), but this was an exception. It was able to convey tension and emotion well throughout the film while still maintaining constant humor. Very good acting and relatable characters. Easy 8/10 for me. Anyone else have thoughts on this? Should I check out more from this director?
You should also check out The Guard which his brother directed.
The Scorch Trials Our intrepid heroes go out into the Scorch in search of a plot. They find it about five minutes before the movie ends. It was dull, contrived and boring as shit 3/10
i don't know how they will succeed, or recreate anything like, the atmospheric clash between Ford's brooding gruffness and Hauer's, uh, pardon the pun, batty-ness
tom hardy and benedict cumberpatch come to mind. there's a wealth of actors that could do it
loved prisoners and especially enemy so it's really good to hear the positive stuff about sicario denis villeneuve is on a roll
his entire career is on a roll
Star Wars I, II & III The acting skills in the Phantom Menace makes you want to punch an ewok, Attack of the clones focused too much on the cheesey padme/anakin bullshit. The audience knew it had to happen but the delivery was dull and mostly cringey. Thank god for Revenge of the Sith delivering a decent climax to an otherwise average trilogy. 7/10 Overall, saved by the fact it's Star Wars.

Nobody I know agrees with me when I say Attack of the Clones is by far the worst Star Wars movie. But it's true.
Nobody I know agrees with me when I say Attack of the Clones is by far the worst Star Wars movie. But it's true.
which one is that, i can't even tell 2 and 3 apart is attack of the clones the one where obi wan rides an iguana and anakin complains about sand
which one is that, i can't even tell 2 and 3 apart is attack of the clones the one where obi wan rides an iguana and anakin complains about sand
anakin complains about sand in the 2nd one and obi wan rides the giant lizard in the 3rd one
I hate when people are like "but the third Star Wars movie is pretty good" less shitty =/= good
8/10, pretty entertaining fighting movie. Decent plot, and really good fighting scenes. I'd go as far as considering it the spiritual successor to Mortal Kombat - those who watched this movie will understand. Damn good movie for a directorial debut by Keanu! Also, enjoyed seeing him as an over-the-top villain, this (spoiler-ish) totally caught me by surprise. [editline]21st September 2015[/editline] It's on Netflix btw, look it up! [editline]21st September 2015[/editline]
sicario, twice excellent. please go and see sicario
I wanna watch Sicario and Black Mass... after watching Netflix's Narcos, I'm sorta binging movies and TV shows about drug lords and gangsters. :v:
Southpaw 8.5/10
I hate when people are like "but the third Star Wars movie is pretty good" less shitty =/= good
Personally I liked it but at the same time it pisses me off Like by the time the prequels got to shit people actually wanted to see they were too fucking late and tried to put it all into one movie. It made the movie feel rushed and crowded and they sure as shit weren't prepared to write it. It didn't kill it for me, but I would have seriously preferred episode 3 to have just been the prequels.
Spy 7/10 Jason Statham should do more comedy, he was definetly the best part. The story is terrible, but the film was pretty funny overall so it's almost excusable. Still hasn't changed my opinion on melissa mcarthy, who came off as more annoying rather than funny. Still worth watching just for statham.
Southpaw 8.5/10
Was this movie really shit or something? (Based on ratings)
Was this movie really shit or something? (Based on ratings)
In my opinion it was just so stunningly mediocre. Not really bad but nothing really to write home about either.
Nobody I know agrees with me when I say Attack of the Clones is by far the worst Star Wars movie. But it's true.
I must've thought that movie was so awful even as a kid because I barely remember anything about it. Now it's all coming back to me. Padme almost dies, there are some boring love scenes with Anakin. He kills a bunch of sand people and "oh shit guys look how evil he is dark side foreshadow etc." Jango fett dies in the dumbest way possible. There's a big battle between the republic and the cis but instead we get to watch anakin fight count dickhead instead.
Was this movie really shit or something? (Based on ratings)
I liked it but pretty much only for the boxing fights and some of the training scenes. The plot and characters were either bland or just plain bad.
Coherence Pretty solid low-budget sci-fi Considering most of the movie was improvised I thought it was very good. Lots of fan theories and stuff make for interesting after-movie consumption
Lawrence of Arabia 5/5 Absolutely incredible scale film. The soundtrack is great too.
I've yet to meet someone who disliked Lawrence of Arabia
