Watch the Old Chan films they're filled with Cheesy tropes but the action is great and the dialogue is occassionaly pretty witty.
Dunno if it holds true with english translation but when you hear the dialogue in Canto (I come from Hong Kong) it's pretty fuckin funny
EDIT:
Stuff like Project A, the original Police stories, etc.
Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2
Still my favorite Tarantino film. May not be his best, but it's definitely my favorite.

1 is good and very solid, but 2 just feels kind of indulgent to me
Same problem I had with Death Proof

actually watch interstellar first so you can end with a better sci fi movie
Jesus fuck you weren't joking.
Interstellar: 4/10.
Gorgeous Cinematography and an interesting concept to begin with are destroyed hearing Michael Cain repeatedly spout some poem, a potentially climatic moment as Cooper attempts to dock with a station spiralling out of control is reduced to two-props guys trying to push a circle in a circle hole. [sp]And then Cooper and a Robot, the coolest thing in the movie, get sucked into a Graphics artifact and we learn that...love transcends space and time (which is kind of already a given, I still love people even if there's space between us and time has passed?) in the most literal sense possible. Cooper travels through time and space to pull his daughters window open and let in dust and push books off the shelf. Then...I guess he slips through somehow and goes back to watching his Daughter die with all of her family around her.[/sp] Meanwhile, Ann Hathaway is the only person who actually did what they set out to do. What a load of pretentious wank.
Also Watched Ex Machina: 9/10, holy fuck you weren't kidding that movie was fantastic. I felt tense the whole time and I really enjoyed watching the interviews. The ending was a real kick in the gut though, [sp]I honestly believed Ada wanted to go to a traffic intersection on a date and just watch people do people stuff. Ouch. [/sp]
tree of life wot a feeling
Volume 2 gets better every time I see it. I was really disappointed when I first saw it.
Oh it's still a fine movie, just not up to par with the rest of Tarantino's stuff
Nothing Tarantino makes will ever top [sp]Reservoir Dogs[/sp] though
Reservoir Dogs > Pulp Fiction
except nobody can seem to agree on what the numbers mean
"it was ok 10/10"
"i loved it 7/10"
"worst thing ive ever seen 6/10"
Well if people weren't fucking idiots who thought that anything below an 8 or 9 out of 10 was trash, we wouldn't have this problem.
Watched Terminator Genisys.
The spoiled so much in the trailers that you might as well call the movie itself an extended trailer. The movie also has zero subtly and treat the viewer as a moron.
EDIT:
On second thought, this might be one of the rare films that is so terrible that i choose to completely ignore its existence.

Come on, man.... a 4/10? I mean i get it that some people dont love it as it has its flaws, but its definitely an above average film i mean c'mon man a 4/10

I'd have to disagree. The movie had glimmers of greatness in it but it followed them up with such rubbish that I can't justify anything above a 4. The Cinematography was excellent, utterly beautiful and a treat to watch. That's the highest praise the film gets from me. None of the Actors really seemed to have much to work with, nor wanted to put their backs out. [sp]Seeing Matt Damon be found was interesting and I thought that'd be the beginning of the end, either Humanity is Doomed or they actually live below the frozen clouds of that world.[/sp] But the film dragged on for what felt like another 45 minutes, in an action scene of two guys trying to fit a thing in a thing, and then it went on even longer!
[sp] Some ultimately pointless sentimentality showing Coopers old house and then we learn that Ann Hathaway found her Skeleton lover and got a colony going. Her love for the guy is never actually shown, there aren't even any pictures or something of them as a couple to validate the part of her character that the audience is supposed to relate to. The film spent an age showing us Cooper and Murph bond (while leaving his Son in the background) and it was meant to make us care a bit,[/sp] Brand gets none of that and you can't care about her by extension.
And the Soundtrack, holy crap that was terrible. I couldn't hear a bloody word that was being said, I was wincing everytime it spiked and when it played, it dragged on for far too long. Just like the film actually. I loved Memento, Inception, Batman Begins and TDK, but after that it seems that Nolan has started to believe that the good ideas that drive his films will stand by themselves, and not need good writing, characters and direction to back them up. Which is a shame, because I really wanted to enjoy this film.

Really?
Christopher Nolan has a problem with giving wordy exposition to old accented men.
Interstellar has been covered again and again in this thread, so I'll just say that everyone can notice its flaws, but those might ruin the film significantly more for some people than for others. In my case, I loved the film.
The soundtrack is just amazing though.
Really?
Perhaps moreso during action scenes. The bit where they have to re-dock with the spinning vessel was deafening and obnoxious I found, elsewhere I didn't really notice a soundtrack which I suppose means the ambient soundtrack did its job of not overriding what was happening and instead accompanying it.
The Thing (1982): 7/10, it's odd how puppets and ragdolls look more real 32 years later than an about 4 year old CG based film.

Soundtrack was pretty generic though.
Interstellars fine so long as you don't think too much about it
Interstellars fine so long as you don't think too much about it
But it isn't a popcorn movie or anything really. The entire plot tries to be thought provoking as the main focus, but it misses its mark on it.
Shiet, the reviews for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. are not good. Sucks to have no good spy movies this year. I'm still going to see it anyway tho.

They could be worse. I'm still looking forward to it because from what I'm hearing, the 60s vibe is strong and that's why I was interested in it in the first place.

There's still hope for the new James Bond movie.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was pretty clearly marketed as a comedy first and a spy movie second. All of the poor reviews I've seen are mad that it's not James Bond or Mission: Impossible. Don't know why people expected otherwise.
It's more comparable to compare it to something like RED.

Oh well, couldn't figure that out based on the one trailer I had seen. At least it may do comedy properly. Watching Benji fuck up time after time in the last three Mission Impossible movies is not as fun as it sounds.

"Comedy" might've been too strong. What I mean is that it's one of those movies with a serious theme that doesn't take itself very seriously.
People wanted a movie more like James Bond with a mostly serious tone and some interspersed humor, which is basically the opposite of what it did, and is where most of the negative reviews seem to be coming from.

I heard the show had a major ratings drop that it had never recovered from because it went too far with it's campy humor. I hope they learned their lesson after 50 years.
ant-man
it was very good, at the same time funny and cute. but most importantly it was self-contained for a marvel film these days, this is why i liked it so much.
douglas was also surprisingly good, one of my favourite parts of the movie: he was incredibly badass despite his age.
goodnight mommy (ich seh ich seh)
different to what i expected after the trailer which i think is intentionally misleading
less of a horror and more of a thriller/tortureporn (after a certain point)
cool horror vibes at the start though. [sp]if you wanna see a kid torture his mother for an hour this is the movie for you[/sp]

i didn't watch it but i was very disappointed after hearing about it
i've read that one of the biggest problems is that the trailer makes the mother seem very apathetic, cold and distant, almost inhuman (and she barely talks, if at all), while the movie makes you empathize with her from the start, and she talks quite a bit as well, is that how it is?
spoilers. you don't really empathise with her from the start, that starts coming in about half way. you kind of see it from the kids perspective from the first have and then it starts to show more and more from the mother and you start to see she's just a sad lady who is struggling.
