Everest Wasn't overly interested prior to watching this, however the film pulled me into the story and I generally felt captivated by the raw power of the mountain and the climbers stories. A rather sad aftertaste, no spoilers but the story had immersed me enough to feel saddened at the events unfolding. A lot of moments left me pleading for a safe outcome for the cast. It kept the cheeseyness to a minimum thanks to a superb cast list, topped with some incredible scenes. I even braced a few times as storm clouds collide into the mountain, but that's probably because I was really high. Solid bit of cinema, 8/10
Mad Max: Fury Road 10/10 It was fucking excellent.
Mad Max: Fury Road: 9/10 Still really enjoyable on a rewatch. Didn't match up to the visceral thrill of 3D in the theater but a real great movie.
The Martian Great movie. Reminded me of Apollo 13 in many aspects. Has some really intense moments, some surprisingly funny ones and overall is very entertaining and suspenseful. The soundtrack was also well implemented. Another great addition to space movies. If I had only one complaint it would be that the story is a bit too formulaic, but that's more of a personal issue I have with movies in general.

Seems like Ridley Scott's finally broken his streak of mediocrity that started with Kingdom of Heaven.
Kingdom of Heaven was anything but mediocre m8
i haven't seen kingdom of heaven and i can tell it's awesome as shit
Just make sure you watch the director's cut.
Just make sure you watch the director's cut.
and just make sure that you dont read any history books before or after it either really good movie though and is definitely among my favorites because of how much went into it
i loved body of lies, i don't know why it's seen by critics as being mediocre
just watched hackers i'm crying at how 90s it was [editline]1st October 2015[/editline] the final hacking scene is now one of my favorite 90s things
also saw The Guest. pretty decent movie with a cool soundtrack, felt like drive combined with terminator and halloween
La Môme - i did not expect to like a biographical movie as much as i liked this very good

trolljegeren / trollhunter 10/10 one of my alltime favourite films But I'm a sucker for found footage type films, it's like a guilty pleasure
trolljegeren / trollhunter 10/10 one of my alltime favourite films But I'm a sucker for found footage type films, it's like a guilty pleasure
Best part was the story about the troll who [sp]tried to eat its own tail, then rolled as a cartwheel down a mountain side[/sp] :v:
Inside Out No sure that I like the scenario. It seems so....wrong in its message. People and their feelings are not that disconnected. When you're overcome with anger it's not the emotion driving you. It's you. Same with positive stuff like joy or good ideas.
the martian didn't like it so many weird directorial and music choices, weird rushed story, and bizarre rom com-like ending. i hate to be that guy, but i will be, the book was a lot better. even though i only listened to it and didn't read it [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] how do you go from aliens to this? like, ultra cheese blockbuster [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] none of it just seemed original at all either. even the ost had the exact same sound from Moon, over and over. it doesn't inspire much hope for his upcoming alien sequel. he's lost his knack for space movies. they're just so boring and lifeless now. kind of like mars. also, all his movies are starting to open the exact same way. panning landscapes, TITLE, panning landscapes. do something interesting ridley [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] and why did matt damon look like bon jovi at the end??? they made his character a lot more conceited than he was in the book too. that last scene of him teaching was so unnecessary and gross
You never fail to impress Rusty. If your right, i'm losing faith in Mr. Scott's latest endeavors I'm thinking about going to see the Martian, that or Black Mass. What would be preferable.
why not both with a triple shot of sicario that's what i plan to somehow do this weekend
I just saw the Martian pre-release and I thought it was pretty good. I guess if you view it from a super film critic perspective then it's definitely no ~masterpiece~. Nonetheless, it was a fun movie to watch. Saw it with a ton of co-workers who are all fans of space exploration, maybe our analysis is a bit biased...

Each little emotion was a facet of Riley inside her head. Always present but taking control as their buttons were pressed so to speak. Rileys response was genuine, but as the Audience we got to see the Personified Emotions respond inside her head.

Finally watched Pans Labyrinth a couple weeks back. Really an artistic masterpiece, great pacing and story. You get a very surreal feel finishing the movie, it all ties together so nicely. 10/10 would definitely recommend anyone to watch.
Just saw Black Mass. It was an okay gangster movie. There were some pretty good scenes, [sp]Like the one where Whitey was busting Connelly's partner's balls at dinner.[/sp]
The Scorch Trials 10/10
God Bless America 2/10 fucking terrible movie, a complete waste of time. It has like...no content at all. While watching it I was just asking myself "why" constantly. It was trying to give a message about consumerism and america being dumb, but it doesn't work because the country represented in the movie is basically a caricature. And anyway it's hard to find any justification to the actions of the protagonist, he just comes across as a total psycopath. And I didn't expect it to be boring as shit, the trailer makes it seem like a fun action ride, but there are like 3 shootouts in the whole thing and the rest is just nothingness and boredom.
