i remember seeing a twinkie in the iron giant and thinking it looked like the most delicious thing ever and spending several years searching for one in local shops, as well as a bottle of the nebulous Orange Soda from Keenan and Kel i never found any
Dollars Trilogy
this is a mortal sin

i have seen everything in all these 'haven't seen' lists i have a problem
I recently saw Platoon. It was good but I feel really fatigued towards war movies at this point, especially vietnam.

I only saw The Good, the Bad and the Ugly out of the trilogy
I only saw The Good, the Bad and the Ugly out of the trilogy
while that's, in my opinion, the best one, I think it's also the one that has to be saved for last. Not because of plot or anything like that, but it really does have the grandest of grand finales.
for everyone listing lawrence of arabia seriously go watch it now, it's quite an experience i remember i watched it for the first time and peter o'toole died the next day :(
Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story - 3/10 It has some mildly clever editing but not much else, it's a pretty generic found footage film. They used Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth/Hellboy) as The Operator but they might has well not have because all he does is stand there. There are a few easter eggs for the Marble Hornets fans, and it has an uncredited cameo by Angus Scrimm, who played The Tall Man in the Phantasm series as an in-joke. It Follows - 8/10 Really good at tension. It has some OK performances. It has an interesting concept that was executed pretty well. Would recommend.
Lawrence of Arabia is on Netflix, at least in the US. So all Americans right now haven't an excuse not to watch it (unless of course you don't have Netflix, then you're okay until you have money to go get it)

Poultrygeist (2006) - 8/10 Shittiest, stupidest, dumbest goddamn movie I've ever seen and I thought it was a great watch.
Lord of War Probably Nick Cage's best film in a very long time (then and since). The opening dialogue about how his family got there and the girl he loved felt really rushed and "let's get this out of the way", but the rest of the film I think is fantastic. Of course I don't really pay attention to the actual "the US and other big states are a threat to the world, that's the REAL bad guys" bullshit, I watched it because it was entertaining. 8/10
So I picked up a shit load of movies on VHS for free and I once I find a vcr, I'm gonna review the ones I have never watched. Even going to pull my old tv out of storage for it. Taxi Driver Apollo 13 Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Dr. Strangelove Pale Rider Star Trek: First Contact All the ones my brother and I grabbed. Watched most of them already or own them on Bluray. Mission impossible – rogue nation 8/10 - good entertainment but the main villain seems underwhelming compared to the past.
they look like books
Its honestly weird to look at them. So used to the current flat rounded thing going with blurays.
It is weird how long it has been now that DVDs have been standard instead of VHS.
I've never seen the Dollars trilogy either but I've seen Yojimbo, which is basically Fistful of Dollars
Scorch trials 4/10
Avatar. It sucked.
im still not sure why that thing was getting like 6 sequels after the first movie its actually sad that after all these years cameron is still going for it
Yeah, I, too, don't get why Cameron wants to do only sequels to Avatar and why some people fell in love with the movie so much. Over the years I stopped hating on it, it's not some deep story but as an action movie I think it has a decent flow. The best way to enjoy it is to look at it as a movie where the bad guy wins.
Three Kings blowing-up-a-helicopter-with-a-c4-strapped-foam-football/10 George Clooney, Mark Whalberg, and Ice Cube team up in order to go hilariously AWOL, save some refugees, and stage a multi-million dollar gold heist in Iraq during the chaos of the tail-end of the Gulf War. Clooney's fantastic in the film, it being his first time at the lead role in a feature production. well worth giving a watch if you haven't and if you have, watch it again cause it's fuckin' great
To all the people who haven't seen Citizen Kane because it's over 70 years old: it has aged remarkably well for the most part. Citizen Kane is truly the Citizen Kane of cinema.

The Fighter is pretty good, too, but he didn't write that.
I kinda liked Silver Linings Playbook, but it's still not very much better than above average. American Hustle looks and sounds great (and it's acted very well), but the core story is really uninteresting, which pulls the whole thing down.
My problem with American Hustle was that it didn't feel like it was made for an audience, it felt like something cranked out to win awards That whole fight scene between Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence was pretty obviously him trying to get Oscar-winning performances out of them (and they were both nominated, so...yeah)
